  1. I think we could help you better if you would let us know what your craft is. Just some general information, IMO, the less processed the material the bigger the profits, for instance, the material themselves costs time to gather, making them into an green item costs time to gather and the credit cost for the recipe and time to make it. RE'd blues and purples cost the previous plus the costs for RE'd items for the recipe and the cost of blue and puprle material to make the item. If it's about credits - sell materials. If you want to make money selling crafted items on the market, be ready to invest time and money to do it.
  2. I just bought the slave girl social armor for Ashara a couple of nights ago and noticed the same transparancy issues. This defeated my purpose in purchasing the armor since it was meant to punisher her for constantly questioning my motives. Now that just leaves the droid to wear it...
  3. I have found that this recipe (which looks like Darth Vader's breather) isn't that popular and I stopped making them in favor of the other orange head slot items. To answer your question, on my server I would post them between 2-4K. My advice, put one up for sale that is comparative to other orange head gear items and see if it sells. Good luck
  4. I don't disagree with your post except the part where you say I'm talking rubbish: The Sherman Act is a law that prevents price fixing. It is a RL crime. The OP was asked in game to participate in price fixing. It's not a crime in the game but the OP felt strong enough about it to ask the community's opinion on how they should deal with it. Let's stay on topic
  5. Not sure what you meant but I was talking about price fixing as in the OP's original post. The law that is being broken is the Sherman Act of 1890 excerpted below: "To protect the consumers by preventing arrangements designed, or which tend, to advance the cost of the consumer".
  6. The un-harvestable nodes are usually a result of poor harvesting. If someone does not take everything on the node - it will become bugged. Be a considerate harvester: Take everything from the node - do not leave anything behind. As to the spawn points for nodes, for the most part, they are hidden behind things such as walls, rocks, tents, rubble, etc. They can be poorly placed too. They can be IN the wall, rock, rubble, etc. and inaccessable. These are not the nodes your looking for - move along. (Has this joke been done to death or what!? )
  7. This has been an interesting thread on many levels. I've noticed a "morale disconnect" from people and their interactions with games. Some are obvious (like killing) but others are not. The OP has brought to light what amounts to a crime in RL and has grappled with the issue as it affects himself/herself and the (server) society. Kudos! I hope you play on an RP server but I'm sure this type of empathy would be welcomed anywhere. As one answer to your question, price fixing is wrong but don't let it affect how you want to sell your goods. It doesn't look like it has from what I read. You sold it for less then brought your price up to be more profitable for you. It works! No need to "teach" these price-fixers a "lesson" Just do what feels right to you. Now on a separate note, I would like to invite all my crew skill forum readers and posters to join my Republic/Imperial game-wide guild "SEC" (Security Exchange Commission) We will bring to an end what is the real evil in the universe! tm (j/k) Game on!
  8. I thought so too until I found out the following procedure: Open the GTN, select the search tag ARMOR, select the type of armor you want to look at (LIGHT, MEDIUM, HEAVY), click search - this will give you all the armor of a type from level 1-50. Now, the trick - at the top left is a tab called RARITY. Click this. This will sort the armor by value. If all purples show up click it again and all oranges and whites show up. Good luck!
  9. There are profits to be made by selling crafting materials in the short run. It works well for starting players since there is only an outlay of time to gather and no expenses for recipes, common materials, etc. Once you are finacially stable you can always drop a gathering skill in favor of a crafting one. Good luck
  10. Drops is an obvious choice for upgrades. Don't forget to pass your hand-me-downs to your companion (if they don't have better) Orange armor is upgraded with augments. CTRL-Right click these items to see what you have "installed" on your armor. These can be replaced. The best way is through the rewards offered on each planet for the commedations that you receive either by drops or quest rewards. The orange armor can be used by your companion as well. GTN (Galactic Trade Network) is another option (Use you map filters to select the GTN to find it on the planet your on or ask in chat). There are plenty of greens (and better) to select from based on armor type and weapon type. Don't spend too much since you'll quickly out-level the gear to the next tier and even better gear. Hope this was helpful - Good luck
  11. Most of the complaint threads make me cringe - I got a chuckle out of this one! I don't think that anyone should be surprised that he is annoying and I'm not pointing at C3PO as the example but rather Jar Jar or the ewoks. Be careful what you wish for or this companion may be replaced by a Gungan or and Ewok (that'll fix your wagon!)
  12. Really? I'm sure Chewy was a crafter - ship parts for sure. How do you think that crappy starship Han piloted could do the Kessel Run so fast?! Have to agree with the OP on the rare crafting materials. I sent my companions on missions hoping for the crit needed to get the materials and didn't get it - repeatedly. Not a complaint - a statement of fact. GTN is an option and one I'll consider first when I want to craft the better gear.
  13. First off, I've been advised not to read the forums (this appears to be a really good idea after reading a few of these posts) Second, I like the game. That's it? Maybe I should expand on that last statement: I play with my family and have had a great time with the four person heroic/flashpoint missions. The cut scenes for the quests (though they slow down play) are entertaining. Some aspects of the game are new and dynamic which sets SWTOR apart from the others. Will I be going back to RIFT or WOW (or pine for SWG)? No, I'm happy here. Thanks for your attention. Have a great time with the game!
