  1. Ok thanks for the replies. I pretty much figured accuracy wasn't much of a focus but still good to see it in black and white.
  2. Hi fresh Sentinel into the 50 ranks of PvP. I do a lot of reading and consider myself very knowledgeable about my class , by no means an expert , but i've read the stickie on Sent pvp. Never have gotten a clear answer on whether accuracy is worth a crap or not. The feeling that i get is if it comes on gear fine but dont seek it out. Additionally when i see specs posted for watchmen pvp i almost never see anyone put points into Steadfast which gives 1% for each point up to 3 points. Saw the PVEish Stickie that said get accuracy to 100% but.... that seems to be more of a pve issue with boss mobs etc. If i've missed this somewhere on a PvP oriented FAQ please point me in the right direction and i will read up on it. Thank you.

  4. If you would read what the OP said he didnt say anyting about not working for your gear. What he said is that it's bad to have fresh made 50's having to compete against max geared 50's where they dont stand a chance in hell of beating them regardless of their skill because of the gear disparity. Like i said i would say that i prefer they break the 50 PvP up into say 2 different tiers where you would have new to medium 50's playing against each other and have the Elite 50's competing against each other.

Honestly i like a different proposal that i read here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=307402 I like this idea better becasue of foisting 50's back down into the 1-49 bracket they can play against similarly geared 50's. I know you said that you would revert their stats to lvl 49 but even then it think the other idea is better.
  6. I havent hit 50 yet, but pretty much all i've done since about lvl 25ish is PvP. So while i don't personally know the frustrations of a fresh 50 in pvp i've read enough about it. Your ideas seem very well thought out and reasonable. They may not be implemented exactly by Bioware but at least it's food for thought and lays down good groundwork for what they should do. Oh and btw about me not questing much let me say however that i love the questing in this game more than any other mmo i've played and i've played a lot of them. It's not that i don't like questing in this game it's just that i have a blast pvping and the ques pop so fast i don't get to quest much lol. So basically i've just been doing the class questlines as time permits. When i make an alt i'll prob take my time with it and enjoy the questing more.
  7. Thank you for the changes and giving us the option to personalize it. Cool down counters are going to be awesome!! Oh and for god's sake can some of you actually read the article before you come in here and ask for things that they already said they were adding and even had them in the demo video!!!!!!!! Also the article was soley in reference to the global cool down system not the UI in general. Tired of illeterate people that cant read and comprehend what their reading, coming in and making idiotic statements in the forums. I for one am estatic about the cooldown changes. For all those that jsut think it was just a cosmetic issue let me assure you that this was not the case. You obviously were unaware of the issues that the cooldown system had on gameplay, especially in PvP but even in PvE if your knowledgeable about your class and like to push their abilities to the limit. There simply is no excuse, in this generation of MMO's, for not being able to tell which abilities were off of cool down or about to be off of cooldown at a quick glance. Having to wait for the global cooldown counter to run down before you could actually see what abilities were up or not is inexcusable. Thanks Bioware for listening and finally fixing what is one of the most important aspects of the UI. Guess what they say is true , "The third time is the charm".

  9. For the love of god why can't they get this right???????????? Hello McFly?????? What the hell is so hard about coming up with a cool down notification system that imparts all you need to know in a quick glance??? Having a blue cool down guage when the user interface is blue, and most of the spell icons having blue backgrounds (at least for me as a Sentinel) make the new system almost as bad as the other, why not just have the damn icons greyed or subdued when not available for use. This system is slightly better than the other version but with all the flashing strobe lights and bright colors its almost blinding!!!!!! Come on it's not that hard. It shouldn't take 10 fixes to resolve this issue!!!!

  12. Yes, you are right that in the U.S. gambling is legalized in some states, (even limited to certain areas of a state) and not in others. The bottom line is that gambling in the game for fake money shouldn't be an issue and i know you are playing devil's advocate so please don't take this discussion in any way as me having an issue with you. I just would really love to see these features, the Landspeeder racing as well, added into the game to make it that much better and more immersive.
  13. Well Happysister i can say that i undestand what you are saying to an extent. There are a lot of complaints in the forums and at times i can see how the forums and people in general are overly pessimistic and it can get old fast. A lot of times your right, you just have to deal with it untill it is fixed, if it ever is fixed. However there are times when there are issues that need to be addressed. Competitive balance is always a tricky situation. There really is no way to balance all classes against each other hence there usually is a rock, paper, scissors formula and thats fine. When you have a disparity in what amounts to the same class that is an issue of balance. Best analogy i can use for those that played WoW or any MMO that had the same identical classes just with the option of being on opposing factions. It would be like saying a Horde Hunter had an unfair advantage over an Alliance Hunter. That scenario doesnt make any sense because they are the same exact class. This is what the OP is trying to convey. Thats not to say that there arn't a lot of good things about SWtOR. I love the game and enjoy playing it and hope to play for a long time .

  15. I'm sorry, are you reading the same thread that i'm talking about? Pleas again comprehend what was said. I said you obviously dont understand what was said because your comments show exactly that... And then went on to extrapolate how one ability with a .5s 'delay' that is also on a 30s cooldown somehow gives an additional 6 seconds of delay after 30s. I ask for the second time, where in my post did i say anything about one ability with a .5 second delay , being on a 30 second cool down and giving an additional 6 seconds of delay after 30 seconds????????????????????????????????????? Please show me where i said that. Please go back and read my comments instead of seeing some numbers and jumping to conclusions. Additionally i never said anything about 1 specefic ability, please show me where I (personally in my reply) said anything about one SPECIFIC ability. Where???????????? You basically made it personal and replied specifically to the so-called delay in Sabotage Charge (so-called because only some sharpshooters actually experience this, everyone else has dots that detonate it automatically when used properly). I DID NOT reply specifically about any one ability/skill!!!!! My response was not regarding only Sabotage Charge. Also that was not the only skill mentioned by the OP, as he also mentioned Back Blast. AGAIN my response was not in regards to any one or two particular abilites it was in reference to abilities in general!!!!!!! If you read my post I allowed for the fact that maybe i should not have singled out Happysister's post however i did say that i read many comments "like" hers. I DID not make it personal, however i am going to correct someone when they start putting words in my mouth and try to tell me what it was that i said when it is clearly written in black and white!!!!! Reading comprehension goes a long way. I stated up front that the example i was using was a hypothetical to more clearly illustrate the issue. I DON'T know what is so hard to understand about that????? Please feel free to quote any of my replies in this thread to show me saying what you say i did!! If this is a simple misunderstanding between us and you did not understand what i wrote, then I am sorry that there was a misunderstanding but i very clearly did not say or intimate the things that you are saying that i did.

  17. I have no problem with you enjoying your class and furthermore i have no problem with you not having a problem with a .5 second delay, more power to you !! Hopefully i did not make you feel like i was singling you out because i wasn't its just your post happened to be in the thread as an example. Clearly however you comment about QQing about a .5 second delay shows that you dont understand the concept of the flaw. The issue is not that it doesnt bother You, the issue is that you don't seem to understand the implications of the problem and to try to explain it away in the manner that you did clearly shows that. You even said that it all depends on the player and the situation. Well that's exactly the point, given 2 players of equal skill, one will be hampered/disadvantaged due to something utterly not in his control no matter what he does, thats not balance. Let me remind you i'm not speaking about balance between two seperate classes were essentially talking about the same class (mirror class). Lets use this for an example: Is 4>4? Is 4<4? No 4=4. THAT's what were talking about. So it's fine that you dont have an issue with this, it's a free country. On the other hand don't try to explain away an issue with vague comments that dont really apply. It bothers the OP, it is a legitimate flaw and i can see how it would bother him so dont hold that against him. Now if he came on here and made up things that were not true or were not an issue that's a different story. As for me it's not personal, I don't even play a smuggler but you dont have to play a smuggler to understand that the issue that the OP is speaking of doenst make a lot of sense. I play the game, i enjoy the game, but that doesnt mean im blind to flaws in the game, just as im not blind to a lot of the good things about the game.
  18. Sigh, reading comprehension has really gone down the tubes these days. Where anywhere in my post did i say anything about any ability having a 30 second cool down and where in my post did i say i was talking only about 1 specific ability, and where did i say that one ability all by itself lead to a 6 second delay?? Please take the time read carefully, and comprehend what is being said.
  19. I laugh at people that dont understand this or they say, "Oh my god a whole half a sceond?????" I see comments similiar to Happysister's all the time and it just shows that people dont understand how time works. Let't try to break this down for the people that don't pvp or arn't really into just what goes on with their character in the game. For the sake of this argument lets just assume all scoundrel abilities (even though its not all abilities) take .5 seconds longer to implement/activate than the IO's abilities. If you look at it this way the global cool down is irrelevant because the global cool down is the same for each. Now lets assume we have a stop watch and both classes start fighting each other. People that don't understand the impact of .5 seconds longer on the same abilities vs the mirror class would say "Ooohh big deal the IO has a .5 second advantage". However multiply that .5 seconds by every time both classes use an abilitly. Now do you start to get the picture? Ok lets go one more step lets for arguments sake and say all Scoundrel and IO abilities take 2.0 seconds to use, but were going to add .5 seconds to all the Scoundrel's abilities due to long animations. So for every 2 abilities used it takes the scoundrel 5 seconds and the IO 4 seconds (throw the global cool down out of the window since it is exactly the same for both). Here let me make a graphic representation of the issue. Scoundrel: 5.0->10.0->15.0->20.0->25.0->30.0 ---------IO: 4.0->08.0->12.0->16.0->20.0->24.0 So at the end of a 30 second segment the IO would be 6 seconds ahead of the Scoundrel. This is what the OP is talking about. Now understand that this scenario that i've highlighted is hypothetical as all Scoundrel and IO abilities do not take 2.0 seconds to cast but it does show that one class does seem to have and advantage over the other considering they are supposed to be mirror classes. Is it easier now to understand now just how big that .5 seconds is??
  20. We do all realize that credits are not real?? I mean we're not talking about playing for real life dollars!! There are murders, drug dealing, all kinds of stuff going on in this game. Don't assasinations, murders, smuggling, and drug trafficking make governments and regulatory bodies quesy?? What about prostitution that's in the game as well. Should all these things be removed from the game? Again this argument doesnt make sense since we are not talking about "real gambling" anymore than playing Monopoly actually earns anyone "real" money. Also let's not forget the fact that Casino's and gambling are indeed legal enterprises in a lot of places, even in the U.S. Las Vegas anyone???
  21. Well thanks for clearing that up for me and if what you say is true that is utterly asinine. I have no problems for getting Objective points for the things you listed, but to tell me that you get points for hitting the guy with the ball in Huttball but not getting points for actually scoring a goal or detonating a door, well rephrasing myself, is just ignorant. If the things you listed are true then i still say the Objective points are bugged because i can't think of a single Huttball match in which i did not try to beat the crap out of the Huttball carrier at least once every match or guarded a door/turret. Yet still at the end of these matches i've received zero Objective points.
