  1. Wow. The only way Bioware could possibly solve both of these problems is if they made these useless "slicing tech parts" be the material component for crafting augments. They'd never think of that though. DOooooooOOOmmmm!
  2. It kinda sounds like the intent is to fight fire with fire. "Unless I rant my uninformed/false opinion all over the place, Bioware will listen to the other guy's uninformed/false opinion". Which, of course, leads to the boards being completely useless and absent of any facts, information, or knowledge.
  3. And this is what is wrong with mmo forums. This belief causes so much misinformation to be spread, that it almost completely devalues the forums. People need to inform themselves more before going off on a rant, supporting nerf/buff calls, etc.
  4. Yeah. At first it was pretty funny to me, so I kept playing along, posting jokes and hints to look at the freaking link. The longer it went with people arguing without verifying the OP's claims though, the more disappointed I got in them.
  5. Yeah, this guy gets a 10/10. I've been hinting since the first page that people should actually check out the source, but even here on page 7 there are still people that can't be bothered.
  6. Hopefully this is the fix, as I prefer the timing of project over the timing of shock. If anything, it'd be a buff.
  7. If Slicing loses it's profit potential, I'll simply spend a couple hours learning a new skill to replace it with. Slicing is the 6th skill I've had to 400 on my main, and it probably won't be the last.
  8. I wonder, OP, do you feel pride at what you've accomplished with this thread, or has your success shaken your belief in humanity to the point that your pride has turned to dissappointment?
  9. This thread is a perfect example of why Bioware should ignore nerf/buff calls on the forums.
  10. The source quoted in the original post is also proof that resolve is still broken in 1.2. Am I the only one who noticed the Assassin get chain knockdowned about 30 times in a row?
  11. Yellow, white and red as the color scheme for our War Hero gear? C'mon BW, you can do better than that. Though I guess I shouldn't complain, as it looks better than our Cent/Champ stuff.
  12. I have Biochem right now, as I'm a pvper. I don't actually care about biochem nerfs or any other crew skill nerf/buffs. Levelling a crew skill is trivially easy, so I'll just re-level into the next most beneficial one once the nerf hits. I've had the following skills on my main: Biochem/Bioanal/Dipl up to 350. Artifice/Treasure Hunting/Archaeology up to 400. Biochem/Bioanal(AGAIN, restarted them both from scratch)/Slicing up to 400. My alt has had: Biochem/Bioanal/Dipl up to 400 Synthweaving/Underworld/Slicing up to 400. It's silly getting attached to any crew skill in this game. Though I will miss the reusables once they get phased out. I hate having to farm for consumables.
  13. All that stuff(complaints about the game, ideas on how to fix it), should probably go to the suggestion forum. IMHO, this forum should be used for discussing how to win at pvp. Unfortunately, the average player would rather win via getting his enemies nerfed and/or himself buffed than actually try to figure out how to win himself.
  14. Morale is a very real phenomenon. It's why I recommend taking a break after losing a couple matches. It's also why I don't start complaining in chat when things start going badly. Additionally, when somebody makes a good play, I try to gratz them for it if I have time. If people think they are going to lose, they will find a way to make it happen. Other than that, your experiences are pretty bizarre to me. I only pug, I've never been in a premade. I suspect my overall win ratio is about 60%. Days where I lose more than I win are pretty rare, though days where I win substantially more than I lose are also uncommon.
  15. There was a guy that kept standing at the edge of our endzone in hutball. I actually jumped up and down in front of him to get his attention, then told him not to stand there as he was acting as a shortcut. He ignored me, and I got stuck with that same guy in 3 seperate hutballs. I'd be busting my butt to knock everyone off of the ramps, only to see them leap up to this scrub moments later as he ineffectually shot lightning at them. Really frustrating day.
  16. Ouch. Sometimes you just get teams full of scrubs, though 1/30 is particularly bad. Yesterday I won 3 out of 10. I was raging pretty hardcore by the end. I had top objective score on 4 out of the 7 we lost(beating all members of the enemy team as well as my own), and was top 3 damage and/or top 3 protection every single time. My teammates just weren't doing anything other than getting massacred in the midfield, and acting as charge shortcuts in hutball. Today, on the other hand, I randomly wound up with competent team mates, and won 8 out of 10. It's the nature of pugging. Only way to solve it is to join a pvp guild. Other than that, take a break after a couple lost rounds to clear your head. Anger will cloud your judgement to the point where you won't play as effectively as you would normally.
  17. Wanna know the best way to show off that you're actually BETTER than the common scrub? Defeating them on equal terms.
  18. I levelled my main with Artifice. I pretty much always had purple saber hilts and crystals for both me and my companion. At some levels, I was also decked out with purple enhancements. The trick is to keep your crafting skill ahead of your character level. You don't hit level 20 and go "Hey, I need to craft new purples now". You should probably have crafted them by the time you were 19. You don't have to sit around doing nothing for the supposed 2 hours it takes. Even if your "2 hours" claim is accurate, your companions should be doing that 2 hours for you while you're out levelling, requiring little to no time investment for yourself.
  19. Yes, this. Lockbox missions are risk free money. They pay for themselves(plus minor profit), and when they crit, the real profit comes in. I don't usually run anything but lockbox missions though. If you have more companions available than lockbox missions, send them out on a different skill instead.
  20. The only thing higher levels gets you is more companions to send out on slicing missions. Which is definitely nice, but not necessary. I suspect Diplomacy is a money-maker, based off of the price I get for Diplomacy missions, and how quickly they sell. I'm not sure what they are selling to make their money though.
  21. Maybe the treasure hunting lockboxes aren't as good? When I was grinding out slicing from 0 to 400 on my alt, I started with 20k credits. I ended with about 35k credits. Not much profit, but lockboxes aren't actually how you make your money from slicing. As long as they pay for themselves(and they do, on average). Your profits come from selling the missions you gain from crits.
  22. Slicing is the way to go. Run tier 6 and tier 5 lockbox missions. They pay for themselves, with minor profits. Any crits result in 340 missions you can sell on the gtn. On average I get about 20k per mission sale. Any slicing missions should be run yourself, as it can get you max level purple augments. Depending on the type of augment, this could make you alot of money. Willpower augments sell for about 500k. Aim, strength, cunning, power 150k. Crit, surge, 100k. Other ones don't tend to sell for much. I made about 700k over the weekend from slicing from one character. I actually have max slicing on two characters due to how profitable it is, but the other one is grinding out another skill right now, so I wasn't able to profit from that one over the weekend.
  23. By February 2008, Guild Wars had 5 million sales. Guild Wars didn't release on Steam until April 2009. So, at best, Steam sales account for 1.5 million.
  24. Guild Wars had 6.5 million sales by 2010(probably closer to 7 million by now). It's one of the best selling PC games of all time. I'd say it did pretty well.
