  1. No way. The game has consistently maintained good revenue despite losing players and development resources. EA is spending less now than ever before on maintaining SWTOR. It's pretty obvious that with an Anthem rework and a new Dragon Age in development, Bioware isn't exactly spending a lot of resources on this game. Yet, the devoted community will keep buying from the CM and keep their subscriptions. Fair enough, too - there's not an MMO that compares to SWTOR story-wise, and certainly none if you're looking for something Sci-Fi/Star Wars specific. In other words, the game has retained its profitability despite costing EA less than ever before in resources. That makes it a valuable asset (which was reinforced by EA stating the game performed consistently for investors in a recent statement). Plus, the game gets a huge influx of players every time a new Star Wars movie/show comes out. WIth episode IX and the Mandalorian out, the game is hitting like 300,000 plus daily players. It's no WoW or FFXIV, but that makes it a lot more popular than most other MMOs. Once the 2023 exclusivity runs out, they'll probably axe it. But I doubt they'll say goodbye to SWTOR before then.
  2. The real question is: how can anybody be this angry, for this long, about movies set in a universe that revolves around space wizards who try and hit each other with glow sticks. I love Star Wars, but it has always been a dumb, fun space fantasy epic. People hold the Disney sequels to a higher standard than they hold the Original Trilogy (or the extended universe stuff, remember when a Wookie got crushed by a moon? Yeah, that wasn't stupid at all) and then pretend that their arguments are somehow well-founded and not nitpicking manufactured simply for the satisfaction of being righteously angry. If you don't like Disney Star Wars, fine. Good. Movies and art are subjective. You have the right to dislike them. But being this angry about it (or doing other tremendously stupid things like sending the actors hate mail for saying lines they had no part in writing) is just pathetic. Everyone who has become so absorbed in their hatred of TLJ and the Disney movies should watch this and reconsider:
  3. IMO, the Disney Star Wars movies will be well regarded in a few years. I mean, look at what happened to the prequels. Hating on them like they were the essence of evil was all the rage for a few years. Now, I consistently see people talking about how underappreciated the prequels are and how they got a bad rap. The Disney movies are far better than the prequels, so I think the rebound effect will happen even sooner/in greater magnitude for them. Look, Star Wars has always been dumb. If you watch the original trilogy without nostalgia goggles, they're dumb movies. The acting is borderline bad (particularly in A New Hope). The dialogue is cheesy as hell. But it's freaking Star Wars. So it's awesome. I mean, I love 'em. I'm a hardcore SW nerd - read all the legends books, watched all the TV shows - I even watched the freaking Christmas special. Twice. And guess what? I like the Disney Star Wars movies. A lot. Star Wars has always been dumb. It's also always been great. Because it's Star Wars. The Disney movies are no different. CinemaWins has a great video on the Last Jedi that mirrors my feelings about Disney Star Wars. Here's a link if you want to watch: It's a great video that I think everyone who's legitimately angry about Disney Star Wars for whatever manufactured reasons should watch.

    Gear babies

Another elitist making a thread about how all those people who don't spend hours on the practice dummies maximizing their rotations are scrubs. Sorry, they aren't. Not everybody has the time to get all the necessary datacrons. I mean, who wants to ride in a baloon for 40 minutes just to get something that gives +8 aim. If I only have an hour a day to play, s' not gonna happen. Sorry buddy. Anyways, now they have those fancy ranked warzones. Why don't you just get some of your min/maxing friends in a premade and play some?. Expecting people to conform to your wishes isn't going to get you far honestly.
  5. I am an altaholic. I've played nearly every class to at least 20. As such, if I switch servers or start leveling a new character, I PvP from 14-20. I would PvP from 10-20 if it didn't feel like I was killing my team by being so slow. so yeah, PvP from 14-20. I also PvP enough to get a new weapon whenever one's available with warzone commendations, and I PvP from around 35-40 in order to get all that level 40 PvP gear. Other than that, I PvE level.
  6. Dude, I hear dissing people about gaming skills makes you such a macho man... o wait. No it doesn't. Instead, it makes you look like a jealous ******e. Sorry to burst your bubble. As for me, I thought it was great. Quote from comments "hands down best sniper/GS on IC.". And it looked pretty damn good as well. I will definitely be watching this when it comes out.
  7. this is quite a long time before Luke. Also, a rebel he had limited clothing options. If you read the books or look at some of the illustrations about what happened after the battle of endor (the one with ewoks) and the Luke founding his own jedi academy, you'll see that Luke switches to the kind of jedi robes that qui-gonn or Obi-wan used in the phantom menace. Also, highly revealing clothing kinda sorta goes against the whole modesty thing of the jedi code. The best you're gonna do is get the dancing slave chick outfit.
  8. Usually people don't get sarcasm... not often I see someone who makes it up where there isn't any. Anyways yeah, companions can use commendation bought stuff. Yay.
  9. To those of you who say "tell _____ to get a real computer" or "buy a PC if you want to play games" it's not that simple. I'm an artist. I busted out a good chunk of money for my imac and another good chunk for the art programs I want to run on it. I also play SW:TOR on this thing. reason being, I don't really want to shell out 600-1500 dollars for a gaming computer just so I can play a game. It will run on bootcamp (or parallels) just fine (on low settings) but it won't run anywhere near as well as it will on a PC. More and more people are using macs now, and optimizing it for one isn't exactly a poor investment. Bottom line: some people only want one computer or don't have enough money to buy one for games. They also don't feel like getting an entire computer just to play one game is a good investment of time and money.

    Sorc Wars

    NO. Change scares me.
  11. In case you don't know, the patch after the up and coming one will have this option added in to the UI. Reading is hard.
  12. as a jedi knight you have such an ability bloat that it will be painful for a clicker. Especially one with reflexes that have not yet matured fully. Just have him go sage or assassin with the jedi consular. They use lightsabres, and are very powerful.

    Pvp???

Use the enter key. It makes paragraphs. Like this: blah blah blah blah blahdie blah... *enter key* Woah! Oh and, spaces after the question marks, exclamation points, and periods are good too. Anyways, yeah the game engine isn't optimized, especially for a newer MMO. But, it is the way it is, and waiting for them to make the game for a new engine is gonna keep you waiting even longer. Best advice for now is to stick it out and hope they fix some things, or stop subscribing. They aren't MAKING you play. Ah after forcing myself to read some more, I see you have already stopped subscribing. Which brings up the 'why are you here?' question. If you hate the game and there's so many things wrong with it, go find something else that caters to your needs. Sunlight, for example.
  14. just fyi, the merc/commando heat-seeker/demo round thing is not a bug. grav round/tracer missile add a passive armor debuff to whatever it hits, stacking up to five times. EVERYBODY benefits from this. A jedi knights physical damage will increase as a result of this. As will a jedi consulars, a smugglers... everybody who attacks with an attack that's affected by armor will do more damage with that ability because of this debuff. Heat-seeker missile and demo round are no different. They benefit just the same amount the rest of the people in the party do from this debuff, only they do more damage because on top of the added armor pen they get a base increase in damage. Anyways yeah, merc/sorc or commando/sage, sniper/gunslinger, and assassin/shadow will do the most burst.
  15. in PvP vids taken of level 50 focus guardians, on an undergeared player or one with low expertise, you'll see guardians critting for up to 10,000 damage. with a force sweep crit. If you're talking about vigilance spec then yeah... those numbers won't happen but the sustained damage is much better.
  16. I've played both vanguard (iron fist) and guardian (focus) and here's what it's boiled down to: with vanguard you get more survivability it would seem, but less gap closers. Medals are generally a bit easier to get since you'll be racking up protection points the entire match. with focus guardian (past level 43, when you get vig buffs to force sweep and you get force exhaustion) you'll pull out much more burst damage. In level 50 PvP 10k crits with force sweep aren't even that hard to get from what I've seen. However, you also sacrifice more survivability. just my two creds.
  17. with all due respect, your 'friend' doesn't sound very friendly. In any case, he's wrong. Getting in a group that doesn't know what they're doing sucks. Skill and knowing how to play the hutball WZ are what win it for a team.
  18. the class was already nerfed in to near extinction. Either you're bad or the other guy was really good. Use cc break on the second stun, or stun them, or use a WZ medpack, or strafe kite since they have no gap closers, or pop a defensive ability. It can't be all that hard.
  19. aheh... advanced medical prode: puts up HOT, lowers time of next medical probe... THAT'S a heal you never wanna use... kolto bomb: aoe heal that puts a damage reduction buff on everyone it hits during an SCC phase... O yeah totally worthless... Kolto infusion: instant heal, and the only one CMs get. Why would you use that? *sarcasm off* The first guy said that the dudes in the Q&A stated it was gonna be fixed. So yes they are looking into it. And honestly, you're getting way to worked up over such a little thing. Can it really be that hard to plan ahead about when you're going to cast ___ ability?.
  20. I just wan server transfers for those of use who have mains on dead servers... on my server the fleet has 40 people max at prime time. Seriously, I'd pay to have my level 44 commando, who is my main, transferred to a server where I feel like I'm not gimping myself by playing him.
  21. A DPS spec that has the ability to heal can get healing medals. A DPS spec that can tank can get guarding medals. A healing spec that can DPS can get damage medals. A tank spec that can DPS can get damage medals. The reason they added medals for 'tanking' in PvP was so the people who PvE tank but also PvP or the people who run tank specs in PvP for added survivability while node defending or ball carrying could get some medals for tanking since their damage is usually pretty low.
  22. What I think they need is a way to transfer your characters from a low pop one to a higher pop one, if nothing else.
  23. OK. I leveled a character to 44 on a server. That server than died. Now, since PvP is my main interest, and PvP queues took way, way to long to pop, I stopped playing that character. You could NOT find groups for flashpoints, heroics, or anything else. I rerolled on a high population server but... well, to be frank, it really annoyed me that my legacy didn't transfer over, and I really want to level that character to 50. I just have no incentive to do so. BW, I get it if you don't want to merge server or offer free server transfers for people who are on low pop servers. But please, let your paying customers pay you money so they can get a better game experience. Make a server transfer fee of like $20 or something that lets us transfer our character (just one) to another server. sincerely, Jedistreen.
  24. I looooove combat medic commando (bodyguard mercenary) healing. I feel it is by far the best single target healing in the game, and since I PvP and get huttball alot, it's completely awesome. Played operative medic for awhile, lacked a attractive or well designed style for making sure you always had your buffs up. Sorc felt to easy mode.
