  1. You can also type LFG in the search bar, and it will pull up all names tagged LFG...
  2. I agree, Telos is an important planet in the Old Republic era, as is Dantooine. I would be surprised if those planets never make it into the game, somehow.
  3. I've never seen 40 people in the republic fleet (or anywhere else, for that matter) on my server, and I can still find groups. I also tend to group up for quests and heroics with some of the same people, making for a great community. I try to be proactive and respond whenever someone is LFG, even if I have already done the fp/heroic, and I don't mind dropping out of the middle of a quest to group up for something. Sometimes you just have to be more flexible, and maybe do solo questing until someone else is LFG. Perhaps you can group for something you don't want to do in hopes that the others will want to help you when you are finished helping them. I guess you just have to adapt to your environment until server transfers are integrated.
  4. You love the Sorcerer? Play the Sorcerer. Who gives a flying Mynock what everybody else is doing?

  6. I am level 28, and I had started gearing up C2 to heal by purchasing as many orange droid parts that I could find, but I ran out of credits. I tried taking him with me to quest on Nar Shaddaa regardless, but we died in short order. I assume he needs top gear to be effective, but I would rather have Kira specced out, helping me cut down those mobs before I even think about needing to heal.
  7. I bought an orange, medium armor helm for my guardian, and I'm just modding it with STR and END until I find something better. I hope there is something better. Trooper helmets are so enormous...
  8. Check her Character screen in-game first. Does she have her own Dark/Light alignment bar?
  9. I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I noticed that when I have my companion's ability bar active, it takes her a few extra seconds to engage in combat, as if she is waiting for direction. When the bar is closed, she jumps directly into battle with me. Anybody else notice this?
  10. Yes, non-combat vanity pets and companion coexistence. How does it work?
  11. Can you have companions and pets summoned at the same time, and do pets stick around during combat?
  12. Just curious - what happens when you drive your speeder off of a cliff? Has anybody tried it?
  13. I like to start chatting to no-one in particular just to see if any of the other 12 night owls on the planet feel like chatting. I'm usually able to strike up a decent conversation, which is generally a halfazzed attempt at RP.
  14. I have a similar problem with Kira. I am lvl 25 and she has been my active companion as long as has been possible. I get a vast majority of positive affection points with her, and often give her gifts. The icon comes up sometimes, but by the time i make it back to my ship, she has nothing special to say to me. Should I have had a conversation with her by now?
  15. I'm probably pretty bad at this game, as this is my first real in-depth experience with an MMO. I am learning on the fly, taking my time through the leveling portion of the game. I was just PUGged up with an experienced set of players for a more difficult Heroic on Taris last night, and I got to see first-hand what consequences my bad decisions cost the effectiveness of the team. Doing things like breaking cc with my aoe, attacking the wrong MOB, and dropping dps or losing aggro had noticable effects and were great learning experiences. I was given a tip about breaking cc from a groupmate (politely), but I was able to observe and correct the rest of the errors, mostly. I am glad that my pug was at least patient enough not to heckle me and eject me from the group. There are a lot of abilities, and I am still working on learning all of them by finding out how they work in combat. It usually has to be in the more difficult heroics or flashpoints to matter, and I have to be playing with others who know what they are doing MMO-wise. Veteran players can complain about noobs, but if they want this game to be fun, they need to help us become more competitive so that the endgame can be more populated with skilled players. Plus, who doesn't like a challenge?
  16. Ok I think you should roll alts. Don't think of them as alts, think of them as 7 more BioWare Star Wars games sitting out there waiting for you to play them. I think you should also try the group content. The material is fantastic - it's where some of the best BioWare storytelling is. If your server is big, pickup groups should be easier to come by - just announce your noobiness. I'm sure there will be other noobish people willing to play with you or very skilled players who like to help people. I was drawn to this game because of the KOTOR games, but I've always wanted to be an MMOer. I would love to group up with a bunch of noobish types like myself and grind and toil through every piece of content! haha rocco, just finished listening to your latest podcast!
  17. yeah i had that problem on the esseles once. annoying, but not crippling.
  18. Why exactly are you playing the game? What made you first so excited to pick up a Star Wars MMO? Do you like crafting? The story/questing? You could always start a new character and just experiment with different things until the legacy details come out. Purposely make her strange looking or only equip gear that looks cool regardless of stats. Maybe mess around with light/dark choices, or just focus on crafting or working the GTN. You say you don't like grouping, but maybe you could group up and just try it out. There are so many things to experiment with in this game, I find it hard to believe that you can't bring yourself to do any of them!
  19. I finally finished Taris after a couple weeks of slogging through its swamps, so I decided to take a detour to Ord Mantell with my lvl 24 Jedi Guardian to do some exploring. I came across an island full of Savrips, where I proceeded to run through large groups of them and then turn to watch Kira slaughter them all effortlessly. Good times, even though nothing I did on that planet at my level netted me much experience. Those combat animations are great, and it is easier to appreciate them when I'm not constantly glancing at cooldowns! Anyone else have a similarly entertaining experience while meandering about in the galaxy?
  20. Before Beta, I fully expected that swtor would be too much for my computer, and that I would have to wait until the distant future to ever get the chance to play. I got the Beta invite, installed the launcher, and launched the game. To my surprise, the game actually ran great in the starting world (Tython), and only had minimal fps issues at the Jedi Temple. My rig is about 5-6 yrs old. It has -Pentium 4, 3.2ghz processor -3GB RAM -ATI Radeon X1650 512mb Graphics Card Most graphics options in-game are dialed down, but I can have Character Detail and Anti Aliasing turned all the way up and still have great graphical performance. I expect that once I get to endgame content, my graphical experience will be crippled (at least in large pvp areas). Regardless, I have really enjoyed leveling up my character and am fine taking my time and rolling alts until I can upgrade my platform. One wonders if there are others with computers similar to mine who are interested in the game but didn't bother testing their rigs in beta. There could be many more potential subscribers out there who are oblivious to their opportunity!
  21. So where do I go to access Warzones?
  22. Thanks for all of the great recommendations! I will probably consider either the X12s or the LX 3000s. Price is very important, but I don't want to feel gimped because of my headset!
  23. I am looking to get MMO gear now that I am committed to this game, and I was wondering if somebody could recommend a very inexpensive, yet adequate, headset for use with SWTOR. Thank You in advance!
