  1. Waiting is the sucker way. You go near the crawler that the datacron's on, get a friend to come along, someone who can do a knockback ability, like force push or the commando concussion charge. You both start a duel, then you jump in front of the crawler and they time a push while you're in midair. With a bit of luck, you can get them to blast you onto the crawler in under 10 minutes. If they have a leap they can follow you up.
  2. From what I've read, you will keep the destination server's legacy name, but it will change to the higher legacy level.
  3. Officially, the only countries that Bioware has released the game in are the four countries that they're allowing transfers to. I'm sure like most people you simply bought on amazon and had it shipped from the US, so you wouldn't have to wait for an official release in your region. This character transfer is simply a nod to those people in APAC who got the game ahead of time and now have had an official local release. You are not entitled to services simply because you're able to take advantage of a shipping loophole.
  4. Original Server: Shadowtown Character name: Tarin Same issues. Drop boxes not working. Only seeing the small arrows toggle.
  5. The thing is, the combat medic was never supposed to compete with the other proper healers. Taking CM is basically giving you a balance between a DPS with some healing. To use DnD terms, CM is a paladin. Combat with minor healing. We are not going to compete with the "clerics".
  6. March 1st, Asia Pacific servers go online, and they'll be offering server transfers to people in those regions. My guess is that these will also serve as a test implementation of further server transfers to come. I wouldn't expect it till after March/April.
  7. I've got Logitech G35s. They're quite good. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/headsets/devices/5095 Added bonus if you play a trooper and bind your medical probe to one of the headset macros. Character animation matches RL, haha.
  8. I addressed that variable. 85% retention rate is still quite good. I know that percentage will decrease as 3/6 month subscriptions wind up, but it's still a fairly good number. Assuming that the 3 and 6 month players have similar retention rates, that would, at worst lower the overall retention rate to 55%, which is definitely wrong as the vast majority of subscribers do so monthly.
  9. I said that the discontented forum posters are the majority of forum users. I also said forum users are a minority of the playerbase. So the discontented users are a majority of a minority. Example: 90% of 5% is 4.5% Although I'd put the discontent closer to 70% of the forum users, 3.5% of the population that way. 85% retention rate, with 3.5% dissatisfied customer base doesn't add up. That's where the non-vocal dissatisfied players are. Add in the fact that a lot of the things the majority cry over are coming in 1.2, and I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic about the future of TOR.
  10. Why people expect Bioware to have managed to develop more in their development period than another company has in 7 years of extra development time, I'll never know. Vanilla TOR has slightly more content than vanilla WoW. So Bioware is apparently slightly faster at developing new content. To expect them to suddenly pull 7 years worth of extra development content out of thin air is ridiculous. Yes, TOR is competing with WoW in its current iteration. To use the car analogy however, it's not at all like a 2011 car competing with a 2004 car. It's more like a new company trying to compete with Ford, only the new company has never made a car before, they've only made toy cars up to that point. And none of the other car companies are going to tell them how to build one either. And it's illegal for them to pull apart the other car to see how it's made. And they're not allowed to use the same parts that the other companies use.
  11. Every statement made in the forums can be easily debunked by comparing the forum population to the population of the playerbase. Forums = small minority. Discontented forum posters = small majority of the small minority.
  12. The more I look at it, the better I like it. http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/7/71/BT-7_Thunderclap.jpg The body is reminiscent of the TIE bomber, and the wings often make me think of the Lambda class shuttle.
  13. "I won't change my strategy, so please, Bioware, change the game." Good luck.
  14. I live in Australia and maintenance runs from around 6pm onwards here. I don't get to play at all on maintenance days. Honestly, you really feel that cut up because you can't game an extra 2 hours?
  15. I just opened with heavy enough dps to keep the aggro on me the entire battle, though I'm playing trooper, so opening with mortar volley isn't difficult. Honestly I don't think I even saw any of the enemies attacking the militia, it was very easy to keep threat on me.
