  1. Yeah, just the dual class mission counts and is what their stock response keeps telling me. I'm willing to accept that I made a mistake but the quest is absolutely poor in design and the fact that customer service is so unwilling to assist is mind boggling.
  2. I came back to the game, after quitting since launch, to play with friends and purchased the 2 month subscription. I used the level 70 boost so I could jump in and saw immediately that I could select a secondary class. The quest was really poorly made and the options weren't really clear, so I picked what looked fun. I didn't realize I had selected the mirror class for the class I already had. Again, it wasn't very clear. Same skills and everything. It is the only thing I've done on the character since I made it. I've tried to reach out to in-game support and they just send me stock responses telling me to kick rocks. I tried calling EA and they couldn't process a refund because I purchased through steam. Feeling very frustrated and like I'm being taken advantage of over a really simple issue, where I delete my level 70 (since they can't roll the character back) and they give me a new token. I refuse to believe I'm the only person that has had this issue. Can anyone offer some guidance? Did I just waste $30? Are there any other options?
  3. This. I think I look "cool" as a 50's gunslinger. I also feel really out of place in this universe. They may have taken the "gunslinger" idea a bit too far.
  4. D: It's when I see hot girls playing MMO's that I realize I've made some bad choices in life.
  5. I was making a general observation. There are non-force users that can use melee, it's true. The issue is that a force user would abuse anyone else in melee who can't use the force. If you think that joe-schmo can even consider standing toe to toe with a jedi or sith, you are crazy. THEY CAN SEE THE FUTURE! It's like playing with a stacked deck.
  6. Honestly? Without trolling? I think, just in this universe, anyone who isn't using the force doesn't stand a chance in melee combat. As far as non-canon feelings? I would not be behind this. But way to use your imagination!
  7. If you use a talent, you can sometimes trigger a faster aimed shot through charged burst. I normally don't use aimed shot in PVP unless I have the reduced cast time because not only does the graphic cue them to the shot, but a lot can happen in 2.5 seconds.
  8. You sir, are my kind of guy. I agree with your post and love your forum name. When it comes down to it WoW truly refined the gaming experience they wanted in their game. While I believe that LFG/LFD is a really good thing, for people who aren't on during peak times especially, but however BW decides to craft this game is how they want it. If they think those tools will be detrimental to the player base, more power to them for not including it, I guess.
  9. A good indication is when they are squatting down and you start exploding. Not all of the gunslinger attacks have a graphic.
  10. I can definitely understand why fighting an elite mob can be frustrating, and I had problems with some of them through the game regardless of my gear composition and companion choice. Here are some things that helped me through the hard time. - Use defensive cooldowns! This game has low cooldowns for most abilities, use them. - Use your mega companion ability. I like to use it right before the companion goes down, but just focus on using it before they die because you can't use it after. - Bring some med packs. They are cheap and can make a real difference. - USE YOUR INTERRUPT. Elite mobs do a lot of damage with either a channeled or casted attach. Use interrupt to slow them down when they use their big damage abilities. - Use CC. A lot of elite mobs are immune to cc, but it's worth trying because you can supplement the interrupts with cc to slow down the damage output.
  11. Although you may not see many snipers, they have a version of aimed shot that utilizes the same graphics, with the glowing red target.
  12. You are entitled to your opinion, so please don't take this the wrong way. I just don't understand why dual spec is something that can kill anything. So long as you can respec at all in the game, dual spec is just a less annoying way to do that. It is strange when you have something like a dps that becomes a healer, but it was just a really useful tool in WOW when it came to PvP vs. PvE as a priest. It was a pain to have to go to the capital city every time I wanted to switch roles slightly to accommodate the different activities.
  13. It's just my opinion, but it seems to be an industry standard to have some sort of Looking for Group functionality. I don't play a peak hours and I feel like I have really missed out on the group content of this MMO. Having a looking for group, that is at least my server, that can be used while doing other solo activities would increase my enjoyment by a ton. Only being able to pull possible companions from guild and surrounding area just aren't enough unless you're on during those peak times.
  14. My legacy name is "McGlove". I chose this to go with my main character "Tatermitts" which is a standard MMO name. If you've seen Tatermitts in WoW, WAR, Guitar Hero, Rifts or anything, you were probably playing against me.
  15. Oh yeah, you guys didn't hear that they are going to nerf every class on empire side? It's true... or maybe I'm just stuck in a dream world created by the original poster. This is the most sincere appeal I've ever seen where the things the person is asking to not happen, aren't happening anyways. Hopefully the op will be happy with this discovery.
  16. I appreciate you trying to defend him, but perhaps he could benefit from some customer service skills. MMO players complain; that's what we do. As a developer you would think he would understand that and either ignore the thread or give the guy an answer that wasn't telling him to shove his post up his butt. Instead, he responded with a post that showed no respect for the player and didn't even answer his question. As if the original poster didn't understand that the two classes were in fact different.
  17. Yeah so the guy is wrong, a jerk, or whatever, but you know that people who pay for a service are called "customers", right? Being a sarcastic ***** doesn't really represent your company in a way that would be conducive to having people re-subscribe to the service. The guy feels like this system isn't fair to his class, and while I don't agree with him the response to his post could have said "it was meant to be this way" or "it's working as designed". The whole "Shockingly, I'm a moderator and represent a company therefore I have to make you feel stupid for sharing your opinion" is completely outrageous. If you are paid by the company I hope your boss sees this and gives you a lesson on how to approach customer service.
  18. Can't tell if trolling or sincere.
  19. 100% agree. Plus, if you can say interrupt about this you can easily apply the same thought to 1v1 with any class.
  20. I wish this game had something like the WoW armory so that I could easily link in the chest that I'm using. It was a random orange drop in a level 40 box, and it looks pretty cool. My hat, however, looks like dookie. It's a helmet thing with a visor that's sticking out; just terrible.
  21. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=343038 I rolled a grav-spammer for similar reasons, and decided to make a thread about what happened when I did. I made the mistake of saying "OP" and reasonable conversation went right out the window. What was I expecting? Reasonable conversation isn't really a possibility on MMO forums.

Of course, I agree with you.
  23. A lot of people talk about balancing classes in this game and say that everything is out of whack and Sorcerers and Sages are the number one problems. BW added a great equalizer to almost all classes: Interrupts and stuns. The way to tell a good PvPer is the use of interrupts and stuns at appropriate times. In fact, as a gunslinger, there isn't a class that I fear to go up against 1 v 1 (except tank classed jedi knights and juggs... can't kill them faster than they kill me, probably because of all the weapon damage they mitigate). The reason for this is that I can recognize key abilities and interrupt them and then when they come around to use them again I stun them. Interrupts and snares (leg shot) don't add to resolve, so they are a great tool against sorc/sages. First interrupt the lightning, then snare them as they run. When they start to lightning you can stun them or you can wait for the heal (they will heal at some point, unless they super suck) and stun them at that point. The major issue with the lightning is that it has a snare attached to it. For gunslingers, however, this is not an issue because if they are standing still to do damage to you chances are you are doing considerably more damage to them in the process. EDIT: Hunker down is an all profit move. If you are specced for it you don't have to wait very long to use it again, so you can *almost* spam hunker down and tell most people to @#$% off.
