  1. Speaking from a perspective of someone who only plays concealment. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like we were just told we should heal or flat out give up on ranked, or perhaps WZs in general. We don't need to be the "best" option.. that was never stated as a request. We just need to be 'an option'. Considering that question was avoided.. not looking good. The words "We are not yet certain" used to describe Concealment's situation shows that the combat team really doesn't understand our current situation. If they did, they would know that the recent changes, while a good step in the right direction, will not change our status. We're nowhere near viable, despite our high damage ( and that's if we get lucky with our crits). The ability to survive just isn't there. In light of that, the rest of the post really just looks like lip service. We've all heard the "We've got exciting changes in the future." line before. Either the combat team has given up on concealment, or just doesn't care anymore. One can argue that they are justified in doing so. The direction the class has taken has caused many people to leave the game/switch to other classes. Operative/scound forums are practically devoid of life. Multiple class reps have quit and I doubt snave will give it another go (he really shouldn't bother after what happened with the original submissions.) Not enough people play the spec to warrant the combat team investing time or effort into fixing an incredibly hard class to balance properly. There wont be any further Dev responses to this thread I bet. People's excellent suggestions will not be looked at or considered. There wont be any dialogue, and I doubt there will be any major changes until the level cap has increased. I am not the kind of person to be all negative.. but this doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence for the future. I want to play concealment, not re-roll. And it seems like we've got a long time to wait before anything is going to change. And quite frankly, I bet many of us have better things to do than wait.
  2. Thanks for making this. My guild's info is out of date. Please copy and past this over <Esoteric Order> and <Knights of Atonement>, respectively. 3. Our website was down earlier, but has since been fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience.
  4. In my experience, the verbal abuse, while it exists, is not the constant amount that has been suggested. I've never been on another sever, but I would guess it's below average. Like the above poster said, you want to join an RP guild if you're interested in that part of the game. The RP community here is fairly tight knit within their guilds. You won't find many people randomly RPing out in the wild. However, I do disagree with the previous statement about most RP guilds being bad. It's fairly easy to wave one's arms about and make generalized statements. Sure, there are some poor guilds, but I don't believe they make up the core of the role-play community. Chances are, if you do some research, you'll find a solid one. Most of us are nice.
  5. I am pleased to say that our community continues to do well. It is a privilege to lead a guild with such good stories and good people. Search and rescue, assassination plots, infiltration and even a history lesson with the occasional force ghost to bother you! These are all examples of Roleplay we have already done, with even more to follow. Check us out! We'll have fun and continue to create great RP.
  6. <Esoteric Order> and the <Knights of Atonement> Guild name: <Esoteric Order> and <Knights of Atonement> Faction: Cross Faction. <Esoteric Order> Imperial. <Knights of Atonement> Republic. Type: RP Focused Guildmaster: Taticius/Jaime Recruitment Status: Open (18+, grey area for younger) Who we’re recruiting: Mature Minded Roleplayers on both factions Website: http://esoteric-order.enjin.com Current Numbers: 65+ About us: The <Esoteric Order>(Empire)/<Knights of Atonement>(Republic) is an RPvP/PvE guild with a heavy focus on Roleplaying. We are a tight-knit group of players dedicated to having fun within SWTOR, while at the same time, maintaining a relaxed, drama free environment. We hold weekly OOC meetings (every Wednesday) to discuss upcoming events/guild developments. Also, and most importantly at all, regular RP events! There is a guaranteed minimum weekly RP events per side. There are no class or level restrictions. You are also not required to join both factions, although we’d certainly welcome all members to participate in both. We will accept anyone who is friendly and helpful. We also accept new Roleplayers with open arms! So long as you're willing to learn! Our Guild began when Bioware allowed guilds to be formed before the game was launched in pre-deployment. It began as a guild of 8 Real Life friends. Shortly after the launch of the guild, past Guildmaster, Selique had returned from a vacation to find all the former members had left. So they began to rebuild and slowly (over the course of 7 or so months) the guild was a flourishing Roleplay guild, complete with a lore and current storyline! Roleplay is definitely what defines our guild. We have a complex mix of characters ranging from Doctors, Security Forces, military and of course, the Sith and Jedi. We indulge in Master/Apprentice RP, but we also encourage Bounty Hunters, Mercenaries, Agents, smugglers and most sorts of characters you can think of. Having begun as a strict RP guild, we slowly began to branch out into the other forms of the game. Just because we are RP focused, doesn’t mean we discourage enjoying PvP and PvP. In fact, the current guildmaster is an avid PvPer. But we are firstly RPers, above all else. Our Guild is a unique community of people from all over. We're very close OOC and we look out for each other to the best of our ability. <Esoteric Order>/<Knights of Atonement> is a growing guild, with a decently sized 50+ member base. Our future is bright and we will continue to facilitate a fun, friendly environment for all our members and those who interact with us. What you can expect: In short, new members can expect active officers who do not shy away from feedback, a solid RP base and an Interest in RP on both factions. Neither our Republic nor our Imperial guilds are alt guilds, but rather individual entitles with their own storylines, characters and people who to prefer to play a certain faction. New members can also expect regular RP events hosted by officers as well as non-officers. And of course, one can always expect a friendly, easygoing environment. How to join: You can find our website here. Simply click on the recruitment tab in order to fill out an application. Alternatively, you can usually find an officer in-game by doing a /who of atonement or esoteric and asking a member for an officer’s name. We look forward to meeting you!
  7. Thank you for the clarification. In regards to the Godmodding, I was referring to how you folks instantly knew that my character was an imperial, (despite him not wearing any sort of official uniform or even being ethnically imperial). It was a relatively minor thing, which is why I ignored it. But that's devolving into 'he said, she said', which wasn't what I was trying to do. As I said before, I wasn't really bitter about it, I just wished to offer some constructive feedback here. As Clone mentioned, a really important thing is a sort of mutual agreement on violence. Really simple things such as a small OOC message saying that IC the only option is to attack, or a single one of you attacking at the beginning (which could escalate to more people of the fight went on) giving the person a chance to run. There is a good chunk of RPers who would be very unhappy with being CCed and insta killed by a large group without any sort of warning. There is a fine line between realism and RP. Since I happen to not face perma death, or even being disabled when one of my characters is defeated unless I choose it, you are going to have to be willing to suspend realism in some cases.. or at least consider the above points. Anyway it's not a big deal, this is just a perspective to keep in mind for the future.
  8. I normally lurk about, but I just thought I'd chime in here upon reading this. Speaking from the perspective of an imperial RPer, you guys need a little bit of work if you are actually trying to promote any sort of cross faction RP. My experience with your lovely event was being surrounded by a bunch of you guys upon logging into the game. Now, I did respond to your RP (and even ignored a bit of Godmodding on your end in the interest of promoting RP. ) But unfortunately, this resulted in my untimely death by mortar barrage, as apparently you guys didn't prefer the direction. Now, I can understand attempting to be realistic, but there is a fine line between that and promoting RP. No imp who actually RPs with you is going to think very highly of them being attacked with 10 to 1 odds in mid dialogue. Now, I am not annoyed, I certainly got a little payback. But I don't see any reason to attempt to RP or encourage anyone else to try with you folks in the future. Might just want to attack people right off the bat if you are going for the "realistic" approach.
  9. I am very glad I stumbled across this thread. Probably the best guide for Scrapper/Concealment on the internet right now. Really appreciate the amount of detail that has gone into this. It was immensely helpful for me in pre 2.0. However, I did have two questions. My main is a concealment Operative who is approaching full conqueror gear and I am a bit unsure if I am gearing him properly in regards to crit chance and Relics. I average a minimum of 300k dps a WZ, but I feel as though my stats could be potentially better. Do I want to take the relic that increases power along with the kinetic energy damage one? Or should I take two of the direct damage ones? To me, it looks like the power relic is very unreliable and the more frequent extra damage would be better overall. Additionally, I am currently using two of the old PvE amor mods that give a 15% boost to crit chance for backstab. I am doing this at the cost of about 4%ish damage from the expertise loss. Is it still worth it to keep the old mods? Or should I switch to the new Medic two piece set bonus? Right now my crit chance is sitting at 27%. I might be able to get it to 29-30% by the time I finish gearing. Help would be much appreciated.
