  1. Or they have an interesting leveling up game, with compelling storylines and then boring repetitive group dungeon runs at max level.
  2. You have to buy it on the character you want to have it. It is not "legacy wide", it is just for the one character who buys it. At level 10, open your legacy tab and find the appropriate icon for buying level 1 speeder piloting at level 10. It costs 40k. Then you can buy a speeder (8k) and you are good.
  3. Landlord, yes. But you would not be announcing it to the whole world. So your analogy breaks down too. There is a big difference between letting "those in charge" know there is a problem, and announcing the problem to the entire world. A private message to BW is "letting the landlord know". A public message on these forums is "telling the whole world".
  4. Sounds like that little boy who, when given a free bowl of chocolate ice cream, whines and cries that he didn't get strawberry.
  5. All you would get would be ratings that were based on things other than their performance. Guildies would rate their guild mates high, regardless of how they actually did. Others would rate low just for griefing purposes, regardless of how they actually did. Etc.
  6. If they were to do that then all those who's regions are down would make characters on the servers are up, thereby flooding the up servers with "temporary" characters, just to get their TOR fix, creating a login queue. And since those players are not on their "regular" server, they do not care about their reputations and end up just harassing the regulars on that server.
  7. If your friend is still on his 30 days free time, then he will not actually be paying for any time until that 30 days runs out. Then you should get the speeder.
  8. And many more could be solved by better behavior on the player's part. Game design may allow or forbid certain things from happening but they cannot program player behavior. There will always be some who will use features for things other than their designed intent.
  9. In WoW, free trials (starter editions) take a "back seat" to paid accounts if there is a queue to log into a server. Paid accounts go first in a queue, ahead of free accounts. Hopefully BW will do the same with SWTOR
  10. I have only done about three FP's (non heroics) since the LFG system started, and in all three of the ones I did, there was an NPC you had to talk to (to close out the story and gain any social points you earned) once it was all over and you hit the "exit area" button. That NPC was on the fleet, or one of the other two ships that are part of the fleet. If you ported back to your original location when hitting the "exit" button, you could not be able to complete these things unless you traveled back to the fleet.
  11. All the complaints in this thread about "poor" behavior on the part of healers, tanks, and dps (each role has its good and bad players) are nothing different than what has been seen in WoW, ever since their LFG system was put in the game. Nothing new here. Same old players, different MMORG.
  12. Because you did not uncheck the healer selection when you entered the queue. Many advanced classes (Commando, Sorcerer, to name a couple) will automatically have Damage and Heal selected in the LFG queue screen. You need to deselect Heal before entering the queue.
  13. Legacy piloting training 2 requires you buy legacy training 1 first. If you already have piloting 1 (bought at level 25 prior to the legacy), you have to buy it again from the legacy menu to meet the prereq for legacy piloting 2. You are buying piloting 1 twice.
  14. Also: for force user casters (like Sorcerers), Force Power is just as good as Power, except Force Power does not help melee attacks (which Sorcerers rarely use).
  15. You have to sign up for a random FP, and complete it. Signing up for specific ones does not give you the daily reward.
  16. You used the term "decimated". That terms originates in ancient Roman days and it meant that 10% of a legion was killed. (Deci = 10). So if you were "decimated" that means you lost 10% of your matches (and won the other 90%).
  17. A BW person answered this question in another thread (I don't have a link). The current "exit mechanic" for FP's and Operations puts you at the entrance of the instance. It has always been this way. The addition of the LFG system did not change this. The BW person said they are looking into a way to put you back to your original "departure" point (where you were when you accepted the group and got transported to the instance) when you exit the instance. No estimate was given on how long that will be for the feature to be developed.
  18. If it is required for your friend to actually pay for a month of game time for you to get the reward, then yes, you will have to wait until all of his free time is used up and he actually gets billed (pays for) for the game time.
  19. When you have a conversation choice, you can hover your mouse over each of the choices and, if there is a dark or light effect, a dark or light side symbol will show up in the center of the selection wheel. That is how you know ahead of time which choices give dark or light points.
  20. No, they would just get a feel for what is important to those who choose to vote, which may or may not reflect the "community" as a whole.
  21. For any subscription based MMORG, "extra" stuff you can buy with real money should NEVER give any gameplay advantage. Not "extra crits" for crafting, armor or weapon boosts, or anything else of that nature. They should just be "fluff" or Cosmetic stuff like pets and mounts, or costume options, and such.
  22. Your $15 per month gets you access to the game servers and the content they contain. That's it. What BW does with that money is up to them. Yes, some of it will be used to develop and deploy new content periodically. And a lot of it goes to just operating the company and the game itself. Salaries, taxes, rent on facilities, utilities, maintenance of the game servers, recoupment of the initial investment of getting this game out in the first place, etc. Bottom line... just like any other paid consumer service, if you feel what you get is worth the price you pay, then OK. If not, then stop paying it.
  23. You realize a faction change would also mean a class change. This is not like WoW where both factions have the same classes. All the quests, especially the class quests, would have to be converted. Not gonna happen.
  24. By not doing any transfers until you both can do them at the same time.
  25. About 3000 years before the Battle for Yavin (Episode 4 movie). KOTOR was about 500 years prior to this game.
