  1. People that play with blues and greens have crap rankings. If you step up your game and raise your ranking above 1000 those people don't show up on your team anymore.
  2. In case anybody buys a rename token from the cartel market: they do have a 30 day cool down (although it seems d like it cleared in 10 regardless of the tool tip). But if you keep your characters and want to switch two of their names you have to wait a bit.
  3. It's not about "eventually" climbing the ranks, it's that over time your ranking becomes more accurate. Dead weight people who suck will keep dropping because they lose every time. People who are good will continue to climb because even if they're matched up with bads a lot they can still pull out an occasional win by carrying or rallying a team, especially if put on a team of 3 other team players. As for the system being "broken" people are complaining about game throwers, que syncers, and win traders but the fixes they demand won't fix any of those. You can set an expertise, Valor, or gear restriction and all of those will still exist. It's like complaining about the matchmaking system as the fault for their loss. Sure the matchmaking system matches classes that demolish your team but it's also puts you on teams that demolish the enemy. It's basically a class RNG, the opposition faces the same problem as you so it cancels out. If you're always losing games it's not the matchmaking system at fault. A few of those games you had the class advantage and you still lost. Lastly is the "undergeared" players. If they're that badly undergeared they will lose often and their ranking will fall to the bottom. If you're overgeared and you find yourself in this bracket you should be outclassing the opposing under geared players and getting a lot of wins. The problem is the gear gap is small now and undergeared players can still do good. And overgeared players can still suck. And I guarantee that overgeared bad will see the undergeared players around him and blame them for the loss. And then they come to the forum demanding gear restrictions.
  4. You mean before you reimage your phone, or after you buy the white/red dye module. The only perk is that vendor so do your shopping then remove the security key (IMHO). Once you re image your phone you lose the key app and can't get into the website to recover it. You can't log into the site or the game.
  5. Endgame gear progression is better than crafted gear (unless you reverse engineered the end game gear but that's a PITA). But if you want money or you're going to make a second character then crafting is very useful so get it going early. Personally I make all my spending money selling sub-50 blue gear to people leveling their characters, I don't even touch Endgame gear and still make millions. And I save tons of money having my old crafter characters keep my new alternate characters and their companions in new gear.
  6. A sorc is my main but I loved the sniper storyline as well. They're probably my two favorites of the game, you can't go wrong with either one. Both are respectable in PvP as well, and PvE from what I've heard.
  7. Dont reimage your phone if you have the app, I learned the hard way 3 or 4 times. You'll have to call the customer service line and remember all your security questions. But the white/deep red dye kit is worth it if you have a commando style armor.
  8. My first action when getting a new companion is to immediately get a customization for them if just so I look different on fleet. As long as you have the companion and a ship you can go anywhere, even ilum. And all the vendors are accessible without having to fight overpowered enemies.
  9. Do this. The prices are the same for all the vendors it's just the level that changes so I usually hoard the until I'm close to the cap or really need to upgrade something that hasn't dropped in a while.
  10. Jerks in the game suck but BW can't force people to play a certain way. Just report them and move on. I usually play regs or GSF a couple rounds and then come back to ranked when other people are playing. What I wonder is how his scoundrel was at the exact same level as his merc. Especially if he's throwing games with it. His ranking should plummet below yours pretty quick.
  11. I swear we must be playing different games, all my ranked matches are awesome. Queues are about 5 mins to pop, matches are always pretty close, everybody is geared about the same. The only time we lose is when people get split up and try focusing 2 different players rather than one. I've had a few I've been slaughtered but it was 3am and I only lost 8 ranking because it was a bad matchup. I think having enough people playing to keep the pool large is a big deciding factor. I'm somewhere right in the the middle so I'm always ranked with people in the same skill range. There aren't a lot of elite or noobs in the mix.

    I want to.

Are you saying to dumb is down and make it easier? Because all the complaints here are about catering to the "high end" PvPer even going so far at to restrict access to game unless people spend all their leveling time prepping for PvP. Bolster is all that's needed to level the playing field for noobs to join the buffet. It's got flaws but most are fixed, gear is no longer the barrier to doing well. A noob with some basic gear and skill can go up against a bad player with good gear. What wins games now is skill and teamwork. Don't dumb things down further so people with no skill can win by simply banging their keyboard with their pudgy cheetos stained hands.
  13. This. You can tell the terribads because they leave when the enemy caps 2 nodes to 1 or God forbid scores first in Huttball. Both are very easy to come back from but the bads think it's a no-win situation and bug out. Rage quitting is simply running from a tough fight, if you can only win by picking and choosing matches you're a bad. End of story. You can make as many excuses as you want for it but it doesn't change the fact that you can't fight when it's not in easy mode.

    PVP and Hack

No As the accuser the burden is on you to confirm there is a hack (post video). Because it sounds like you just went up a player that is a lot better than you. It sucks, I hate them too, but thats the way the game is. Gear doesn't really make a huge difference, skill does.
  15. I just vote for whoever communicated. There's usually only one other person. Whether it's calling out incoming or just some noob asking "what do I do?" at least they're trying to work as a team. Unless their "communication" is bad mouthing people. Then I just give them the "vote to kick player".
  16. That's the thing. I never see people below 1900 playing ranked. I'm not an amazing player but I must be good enough that my rank is above PvE players "trying out" ranked. I wouldn't even know this is a problem if it wasn't for the people complaining here all the time. At my rank level it's rare to see people without +1900, stims, and full augments. If you're surrounded by PvE players you probably face PvE players too. Mark them with a target and tell the the PvE noobs to kill the target. Besides getting to some wins you can teach the PvE noobs how to play. It's certainly going to improve your rank more than quitting, afking, or complaining instead of fighting. Ranking is there for the taking, don't expect bioware or another player to carry it to you. You have to get wins yourself.
  17. Quit polluting the forum with these fake compaint/troll attempts. They're not funny and there are actually some legitimate discussions you're forcing down the list.
  18. I agree that innocent disconnects shouldn't be punished but chronic warzone leavers should. The value of the rating system is bypassed when people pick and choose their matches. A cheat is a cheat, just like throwing matches to help fellow guildies. If 2 people have 1500 ranking; one played every match even when the class makeup was against them, the other only played matches where he had an advantage. Both players aren't equally skilled and shouldn't share the same ranking because one cheated the system to play easy mode. If you select "leave warzone" even if the match hasn't started, then you deserve the full rating loss. Once you see the class match up, you're dedicated because picking and choosing matches is a form of gaming the ranking system. If you disconnect while the match is forming I would say that you shouldn't be punished as severely, but people could game the system that way too by disconnecting their modems instead of selecting "leave warzone". Maybe the system could track if the only time they "disconnect" is 30 seconds after they see the opposition, 5 times a night it gets flagged as a deliberate abandon. If the match hasn't started yet team that's left understaffed in the match should just priority backfill for the next available player and the countdown timer reset. If the same person queues and quits again they get a second "loss".
  19. Unless it's one on one you shouldn't lose to a stealth in the end. Especially 4 on 1. You have 4 minutes to search them out. Usually their own team is so pissed off having to wait they will help you telling you where to go. If against all odds they hide the whole time just make sure your team goes to mid in the last 30 seconds and fills mid with AoE damage. Most times you'll knock the stealth out and kill him before the gas even with 30 seconds on the clock.
  20. Just jump in and play. If you got Oberon with Augs and a stim it's good enough. I was down 2 Oberon pieces and have still maintained 1200-1100. And even if you get slaughtered your rank will drop till you get grouped with people of the same gear/skill level. It's not like it takes long to replace those few missing pieces, you'll be there in a week. It's more important to get the training; +15 to your stats getting that last piece is nice but not going to carry you if you don't know how to play. I would only do more regs to get some training since you've been out for a while. Once your back to having the muscle memory reactions you should be good to go.
  21. His very first question is how to get his Valor up because he can't wear the battlemaster shells. This is the reason I think BW needs to remove the Valor requirements on all crafted PvP shells. OP: Short answer is that you need to grind Valor to be able to wear the cool looking armor, you're going to get a lot of training on using your toon doing regular warzones. Wear some other orange armor in the meantime. Heed what they said above, get rid of all your old expertise gear and get Oberon pieces as soon as you can. With the number of warzones you need to grind out you'll probably have a full set in a week or two and a lot of ranked gear by time you can use the battlemaster shells.
  22. What they said. It's really hard to stay alive because most people are focusing sorcs before healers and all else. And most healers are still 2 patches behind in thinking the best person to heal is the suicide sentinel that just smashes everything. You're basically on your own with the most squishy class of the game. But in those rare circumstances you get some healer or tank support, or you manage to stay off the enemy radar you can do great single target damage with lots of incidental AoE damage. Their healer will be busy keeping up with your damage and your teammates can goto town.
  23. I love my PT, they absorb tons of damage compared to everything other than a Jugg/Guardian. The problem is bad players that burn all their defensive cooldowns at once as an "Oh *****" maneuver. If you rotate your DCDs properly you can weather the assault of 2 or even 3 opponents for quite a few GCDs. As long as your team isn't retareded they can use that time to kill one opponent and mortally wound another. Meanwhile you have a lot of burn options and slows to keep doing damage even after you die.
  24. Arenas work the same way, you have a random chance for arenas, if you get one you have another random roll to see which map. Personally I like it that way. I do wish Huttball was on higher rotation but I don't want every arena to be treated as a separate chance. It will all come down to what people prefer. They best solution would be if every game type had 3-4 maps to choose from.
  25. If you think getting a magical Brutalizer piece is going to suddenly turn around your game and make you an amazing player I have bad news for you.
