  1. I had same problem last week. After I changed "P2PEnabled": "true" I also had to restart and then hit pause and resume a few times for the download speed to speed up. It wasn't instantaneous, but eventually I did get 1-2mbs. I believe I had it slow down again and the pause/unpause got it running fast again.
  2. True, I can't think of much that is "inherently wrong" off the top of my head...since wrong is completely subjective and a social construct. I think what the majority are saying is that the rails space game could have been made 10 years ago with exactly the same mechanics and slightly less graphic polish. Because of this, it does not keep most players attention for long since it is by design, very repetitive. There is no good reason why anyone should object to BW adding a free flying space component, without removing the current space game. They have said repeatedly they have a large enough staff to tackle many objectives at once. It is simply selfish and immature for anyone to argue against a free flying space.
  3. Exactly. The vast majority of players who unknowingly rolled on a dead server would not be complaining if they didn't enjoy the game. We just want the same experience as those who were lucky enough to pick a loaded server. I try to ignore those players and assume BW does as well since it's not constructive and the data has to clearly show the obvious difference in player experience.
  4. The OP is posting information regarding his/her particular server assuming this is the same on situation on all servers. This is obviously not the case. Gardens of Talla has slowly dropped population since January. I'm going to assume the OP plays on one of the servers that had ques over Christmas and once many new players recognized that, started there or re-rolled on that server. That is not an option for many players at this point. While many of the lower pop servers had viable populations in the first few months of launch, they have seen a steady decline with new players gravitating only to the most populated servers exacerbating the problem. I implore BW to look at their own data and ignore players who are stating there is no problem. To players on low pop servers and BW's devs, the problem is obvious.
  5. I would like to see a free merge/transfer of the bottom 5 or 10 populated servers in the very near future. Gardens of Talla had 5 on pub fleet a little bit ago. Last night I was the only one on Tat and there are currently 4 on Alderaan right now. An MMO needs a minimum level of population in order to provide players a remotely consistent experience. My only 50 took me 2 1/2 months to level, I'm not re-rolling. I'm not quitting either, but it's obvious there are fewer players logging in every week on my server. Please put this on the front burner BW.
  6. Mr. Zoeller, "produced or harvested" could mean the 2 million players harvested or crafted 25 items or nodes. I'd hardly use that to cite it as "incredibly popular". I do like most aspects of your game - with exception of space and crafting. I'm encouraged to see you have spent a lot of resources in this patch to crafting. I haven't even had a chance to look through all the notes yet, but I am encouraged. I hope that professions other than biochem become significantly more useful. Please continue dedicating a portion of your resources to crafting and hopefully, eventually a free-flying space. Time to go see what you guys added. Thanks for your hard work.
  7. Yep. Gardens of Talla here. Free transfers/merges for the bottom 5 or 10 servers is really needed. I believe players are being lost every day on the lower pop servers. They deployed more servers for the Christmas rush very quickly, now they need to pivot just as fast in the opposite direction to maintain a consistent gaming environment. I'm not re-rolling. It's taken me since Christmas to get one toon to 50 and one other is 29. Not starting from scratch again.
  8. Impressive. Most impressive. Did you space bar through any at all? Do any side quests? It took me from Christmas until about two weeks ago to get one 50.
  9. Yeah, for me it's called: "server transfers", "free flying space" and "revamped crafting system". I like pretty much everything else.
  10. If there wasn't a delay, there would only be a few credits cost to dieing and that is really trivial. There should be considerable cost/consequence to dieing, especially repeatedly. Or people would just suicide plow into areas.
  11. I would like to sign on in agreement. Bioware did the right thing, the only thing they could do and increase the number of servers to handle the initial rush. While I'm sure the game is stable or growing, it's obvious the bottom 5 or 10 servers are suffering from lack of population. Whether it's due to player frenzy relaxing a bit and less hours are being played or if new players are only going to heavy servers, there is a significant portion of players on low pop servers that are having a lesser game experience and this should be addressed to reduce those who will get frustrated trying to find groups and canceling.
  12. I like that idea. That would definitely help spread the word and provide significant incentive. Good idea!
  13. I soloed my class quest to 50 as a sage without much issue. I died a few times on different bosses while learning strategy, but I expect my MMO to have a bit of challenge. So, if you're not a tank or a healer then?
  14. The only point I agree with the OP on is how over the top they went with bound items. I understand why they use this mechanic and agree it has it's place. But they went way over board with it in this game. They might as well bind everything on pick up and remove the GTN imho.
  15. I sincerely hope they keep and continue to add more rail missions...but eventually they add a free flying space and maybe even a types of warzones in the free space. Doesn't need to be a flight sim, just the ability to fly freely in a zone where you like. Hopefully big enough areas to have 4v4 pvp or similar.
  16. Respectfully, I could not disagree more with the OP. I find this MMO to be the most solo friendly game I've played. Maybe even too friendly - and I say that as someone who likes to solo and enjoys the game.
  17. My only issue with what might be due to the engine is the lack of ability to put more players in the same area. Other than that, I don't see any issues that are engine related that are effecting my enjoyment of the game.
  18. What I love about SWTOR: Star Wars, duh Storyline Combat mechanics Atmosphere/environment detail PVP PVE But I must also include - what I don't love about SWTOR: Space rails (free space please) Crafting/resource collecting (lack of depth, not competitive w/loot, etc)
  19. I think most confusion stems from the fact that people think a game has to be completely one or the other with no in between. SWG added many theme park elements in their sandbox towards the end. There is no reason a theme park MMO can't add sandbox elements. While I don't agree with the OP's delivery, I do agree space and crafting are two areas that could benefit from a more sandboxy approach. These are two areas SWG was praised for by nearly every review of the time and are two areas TOR are receiving the most criticism. I crafted all the time in UO and SWG. I have not been able to raise crafting in TOR much above 100 because it is boring and almost useless. Likewise, space is so repetitive that there is no reason to continue playing it after 50. To end on a positive note, I like the game otherwise and have no plans to cancel. With so many different professions to level, that part will keep me occupied for a while. If they rework or significantly add to crafting and space, I can see me playing for years.
  20. Qyzen. Something about those scales and that tail...
  21. As a player who has put in 1-2 hours on weeknights and 4-8 hours per weekend, it took me just over two months. I ran heroics when I could scrape up a group, started playing wz's about half way to 50 and did space for most of it until I got bored with it. I'm not sure that's too fast. It's a bit quicker than I leveled in SWG and UO but it's not a dramatic difference. I also hate when developers change a mechanic that some players have already been through that makes it harder or provides less rewards for any newer players that do the same mechanic. This stuff needs locked down at launch and not tinkered with. It's not so bad it needs to be messed with imho.
  22. Another "look at me being cleverly sarcastic" post. I wish people would start asking themselves if they really think they are the first one to come up with some new approach to posting that hasn't been done before and more importantly, is not in anyway constructive or even on topic for this forum. Thanks for another useless thread to sift through.
  23. I like it as well, but it is inherently redundant. I got hooked on it for a bit, but it doesn't have long term re-playability IMHO. I read somewhere they plan on doing something major with a future patch for space. I hope they add some type of free space (SWG) and ship customization. Plus keep and continue to add missions for those who enjoy the rail space game. This would go a long way to keep players hooked, again, IMHO.
  24. I've played WZ's a lot the last few weeks and have seen zero speed hacks. I have seen the other team with 11 players vs our 8 though which is just as frustrating. I'm not saying speed hacks don't exist in TOR, I've seen a youtube video of one, but it's not rampant like the bug/exploit that allows more than 8 on a WZ team. I base this on playing 10-20 WZ's a day for the last few weeks at different times of day. I believe I read they are fixing the main cause of the more than 8 players bug in the next patch. I hope so, because WZ's are fun but I have taken a break from them because 3 extra players is a huge advantage in any of the three WZ's.
  25. I believe the OP is way over emphasizing some very minor details to paint an incorrect picture. First, Advanced Classes are two choices. This is not freedom (which is the definition of sandbox). If you look at UO or say minecraft, there is either no restriction on skill combinations - or simply no need for them. SWTOR AC's are completely themepark. The different combinations you can take in the three paths give some appearance of choice, but there is no sandbox freedom here. You can not mix and match different AC skill tree skills which is what a true sandbox would allow. Crafting is the most limited item in this game. I enjoy SWTOR, but I was sorely let down by it's very limited and narrowly focused crafting. There is no argument here for this game being sandbox based on the handful of crafting skills, most of which are currently less than useful except for one or two items. I hope as much as anyone they address this soon. Datacrons? This is sandbox? It's a platform mechanic! Here is a link to a good description of what a sandbox mmo entails: http://tahamtan.hubpages.com/hub/Sandbox-MMO. I believe you are misled on exactly what a sandbox MMO would include. Legacy is not sandbox. Sandbox is where players make many of the rules and have a wide range of freedom. Legacy currently does nothing and we really don't know what it will include so I don't even know how to explain why it is or isn't a sandbox mechanic. It's a non-removable name at this point. With this said, I've always enjoyed sandbox games more but I do like SWTOR. The reason you see so many posts about it is because many of us want to see some sandbox elements introduced. Most of us don't want to radically change the game. Just throw us a bone (that tastes like a sandbox).
