I know this is an old thread, but I just came across it and wanted to throw in my 2 cents in case it could help someone. I was having a TON of trouble jumping to get some of the datacrons, getting REALLY frustrated, and was starting to think the game/jumping must be broken somehow. I suppose it's possible that one's computer could play a some role in making jumping easier or harder - my machine is average....quad core, 8GB RAM, 1GB GPU.....and I run the game on Medium graphics quality. And I suppose it's possible there may be some bugs here or there or maybe some engine imperfections. But for me, the problem ended up being that I did not know how to jump correctly. I know that saying "I don't know how to jump correctly" could sound totally ridiculous to some people (it did to me), but in my case that was 100% true. I've seen a lot of people saying the problem is that people don't know how to jump, but not a lot of tips on how to jump correctly (unfortunately, there was a lot of unhelpful insults instead). So I want to share what I started doing differently that helped me be able to jump to get some of the more challenging datacrons. As best I can tell there seems to be two kinds of jumps: 1.) Jump then push forward (for short jumps); 2.) Move and jump (for long jumps). The second one, move and jump for long jumps, was the jump that I originally could not do (and was starting to think was broken somehow). But then I started doing these two things differently: 1.) Turned OFF Sprint; 2.) Started jumping EARLIER than it seemed like I needed to. I discovered that when I had to move and jump for a long jump I was always jumping too late. Jumping at the correct time seems too early to me and doing it correctly still looks and feels wrong to me. But I've learned that's what I have to do to if I want to make the long jumps. So if you're having trouble with your jumps, try experimenting with those 2 things and keep in mind that what initially looks and feels correct to you may NOT be what actually works. If anyone else has tips on jumping please share them here. I'm Obigan (Jortell Legacy) on the Shadowlands server - feel free to say hello if you see me around.
