Returning Player, haven't played since early 2015
Pingonaut replied to Datamonger's topic in New Player Help
Returning player too, I couldn't be happier about the change to companion gear. My space Barbie & Ken game has never been easier! -
Returning player here, I cannot believe this is still a thing.

From 2011 SW:TOR is what got me into Star Wars by helping me fall in love with the then-Expanded Universe, and then the Prequels. Tython remains one of my favorite planets in the series, and back in January of 2017 I set my game to 5120x2880 (5K) and went all around Tython taking photos of this beautiful planet. Though my screen couldn't display it, my screenshots could, and so this is a gallery for fellow lovers of the Jedi Homeoworld to explore and enjoy. Here is the original gallery, along with a secondary gallery of Tython's residents and a tertiary gallery of the Jedi Temple. If you were into Space-Barbie years ago and active on the forums, you may remember "Just Copy and Paste" : Lore-Friendly, Era-Friendly Jedi Vestments Already In-Game, and while some of these outfits have been added to the game (hurray!!) some of them (like the orange Padawan robes) I still long for. I hope to do some practice digital painting of Tython in the future as well, simulated plein air painting by doing it while-in game. Happy to be back on SW:TOR after a couple years.

The only difference I see is a lack of a full beard. Not exactly surprising after so many years. "Change" makes more sense referring to his person.

Returning player, new rig, still terrible performance.
Pingonaut replied to NogueiraA's topic in General Discussion
The laptop I use has about the same specs, a bit lower, as yours. My game runs fine (50-60 fps) at nearly max settings (flora and trees turned down, that's all). -
This is even funnier because the thread directly below this one is the exact same idea, an idea that has been suggested at least once a day.

Oh, the Aspiring Knight set finally on the Cartel Market?!
Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in General Discussion
Yes, the Aspiring Knight set with the correct aesthetic is from the main story quests, and isn't able to be traded, even through Legacy. -

Will this computer run SWTOR ultra high with good FPS?
Pingonaut replied to RyGanFire's topic in General Discussion
I use a laptop, but it's got specs for gaming. It's a core i7 with a GTX 960M and still has issues with Ultra settings. It's unlikely you'll find a setup that can run Ultra without any issues. SWTOR's game engine isn't optimized well. Even people with really beefy computers sometimes have issues. -
Can we bring back the Physical Authenticator?
Pingonaut replied to PrinceMike's topic in General Discussion
Yes please! I've been wanting one of those. -
So you put a single label on a wide-spanning group and said that the majority of them get these simple things wrong, then posted it here, when it has nothing to do with "SW:TOR General Discussion." So because people play games you believe they don't understand the difference between "then" and "than." Most of these things didn't even make any sense. "Invitation" is the noun form of "invite," and you .. I don't even know. I don't think you're the one that needs to be correcting people. You basically posted a "How-to English" in a Star Wars game forum, for no reason other than some people on the internet have problems typing in proper English, and the people on the forums are on the internet. People who use lazy text talk won't be swayed by this, and people who use proper grammar don't need this. It accomplishes nothing, likely because you posted it for a personal reason.

There should be a "faded" dye type
Pingonaut replied to nerdofprey's topic in Cartel Market Suggestions
Yes, please add this!! The current dyes are so bright and (mostly) unusable! -
Hood Toggle has been "in the works" since February, 2012
Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in General Discussion
We thought the same about off-rails space battles, housing, and color dyes. They were eventually added, and if we keep up interest so will this. -

So if people want something added to the game they should just keep their mouths shut and hope BioWare knows they want it? -

Can't tell if you're trolling. :\ -

Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in General Discussion
The topic began as a frustrated plea for an answer, of course. The rest of the discussion has not been "griping" by any means. Though judging by your signature you have a very one-way view of such things. -
My knowledge of the Gree language is green obtuse, I have white shifted on the topic at hand. What would be the red parallel for my white perpendicular green obtuse? Where can I find a guide on this? (color meanings, geometry meanings, instead of the Wookieepedia's small amount of knowledge)

Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in General Discussion
Is "griping" really the right word? We're expressing our opinion about the hood toggle. We're letting them know that we still want it, so they know. We never would've gotten Galactic Starfighter, Galactic Strongholds, armor dyes, or armor color unify if people didn't keep the topic up. Those were all on the back burner and were added because the community continued to express interest in them, and that's what we're doing here. -

I don't even know how to respond to such a view. Are you actually insinuating that all of the developers for this game are so stupid that they can't even think of something so simple? If it was really that easy do you truly believe they wouldn't have done it? Why don't you go solve the world's coding problems while you're at it? -
Yeah, not a rule. Bad word choice.

There is seriously no reason for all of this controversy over the Moraband name change. Korriban was lost, rediscovered, and lost again (probably more times than that). Here are some fairly simple and easy to consume explanations: Firstly : The last we hear Korriban called by its original name was at least a millennium before the Clone Wars where it is known as Moraband, is it so hard to believe that the name can change over such a long period of time? Secondly : The Sith were eventually wiped out, completely. It's likely that the erase every evidence of the Sith ever existing was attempted, leading to the change of their home planet's name. Thirdly : A mix of the above, the erase of all evidence of the Sith ever existing was attempted, the planet was lost and rediscovered at a later date, with a different name. Perhaps a translation issue, or perhaps intentional. Fourthly : Moraband could have always been another name for Korriban, perhaps we just had never heard it. Either way, there is no reason to make a big deal of this, because it is completely able to live in harmony with the name Korriban.
