  1. As someone whose organized these events in the past I'd like to suggest a few things that helped make ours successful and things i learned doing such. advertise them. here, r/swtor, pvp chat, in warzones and in gen chat etc. Have a dedicated leader for each faction and be able to communicate with each other (preferably VoIP). Scout the areas with each other before hand so you can eliminate long re spawns. Pick locations where each side can get to easily and quickly. Utilize ops leader chat. Big red letters in the center of the screen work better than the ops chat. Have people willing to jump between factions to even up numbers. No one likes spawn camping, kick players who refuse to listen to back off. Do stupid fun things. We always used to do bantha charges etc Try to center it around achievements to give people incentives. Remind people that even if they have the chieve for that planet it still counts towards manhunter. Having a guildie on each faction spamming fleets for more players helps as well. Dont get discouraged if people dont show up to the first one or two. Very few players read these forums or the subreddit, it usually goes by word of mouth. our first two had maybe 40 players total and towards the end of it there was regularly two ops groups each faction.
  2. Just wanted to point out as well that these kills do count toward ManHunter. There seems to be confusion about that in these events. Also here is a few friendly tips to help your FPS Set Everything to low Flytext Off Nameplates to a min TURN OFF V SYNC Pan your camera out as far as possible If at all possible, minimize your UI ( one of the biggest culprits since 3.0 ) Now there are other ways to help your fps out in general as well. You can try downloading the DX9 libraries so the game does not have to emulate them ( Could be big for lower end) https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/p38lx/official_tip_on_vastly_improving_your_framerate/ (you may have to try one the later listed links in the reddit post, i remember the first one didn't work for me) Disabling unnecessary background performance in win 7/ win 8 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=815326
  3. That trailer...... I always think back to it when people say this game was never marketed to have a pvp aspect to it. That and the live trailer. I really wish they'd just give Ilum back. Yeah, kill trading, bad framerate etc but I know if there's an incentive to do OWPVP more people would do it. My guild runs OW events on Shadowlands once a month and usually there are multiple ops groups in the fray. There are people who will suffer bad performance to get their open world fix, just give us incentive.
  4. Title says it all. Organized Open world pvp in the tunnels, friday 7/3 730 est-ish. I know its a holiday weekend but we have a small window to accomplish an event so any help would be appreciated. I can handle organizing the imp group(s) and spamming fleet if anyone could lend a hand in doing the same pub side that'd be great! *Edit* must not post while tired
  5. Will try to bring some guild mates and friends. Also will help out with spamming imp side fleet if need be.
  6. After a little bit of a slow start tonight's event was a success! Almost a full ops group of imps and im pretty sure more than a full group of pubs battled it for about 2 hrs! Lag wasnt all THAT bad, some ability delay but many cheives were earned, many kills racked up and a few people were punted off cliffs! We battled back and forth for some time but in the end the pubs won the day =( Good Times for all though Tomorrow (Saturday 2/28) we will be spamming again for the event to be held at 7 pm EST.
  7. It can, I feel like it doesn't handle them as well as the Rakghoul tunnels do but still doable. As someone pointed out it was originally the pvp planet but shenanigans occurred.
  8. Good to know there's interest! Judging from the responses here and elsewhere both nights would be best to ensure max participation. Time(s) will be 7pm EST for both nights, drop in/drop out whenever. I will need someone to organize pub side ( fleet spamming, putting together ops group(s), etc ). I can take care of Imperial side. Had a little fun today in and out of the pvp area, looking forward to fighting back and forth from bases with everyone! A few tips Ive seen that help with FPS during these : Everything on low, all special settings off Flytext off, nameplates if you can, graphical cool downs off Probably other ways to help, if anyone has anything to add please do so.
  9. Any guilds interested in organizing, helping or partaking in a Gree Open World Event? Larger scale battles can happen randomly but having day, time and faction leaders to direct the chaos can help greatly. Day, time negotiable but the weekend is probably the best slot for it (IE Friday/Saturday 7pm EST until whenever it fizzles out, maybe even both nights). There's achievements to be gained, kill counts to be padded, maybe even conquest objectives (if bio-ware is so inclined, haven't seen the conquest week yet) and general fun and mayhem. If interested please list the following ; Faction Guild Preference of time/day Contact info ( in-game, here or elsewhere) Open world PvP is something this server is lacking (yes, PvE server, FPS, blah blah blah) and I would like to help get regular events going as well for the planetary achievements in the future if this is successful / enjoyable.
  10. Always down for open world stuff. The last 2 events there has been brawls and this one should be no different. Im always trying to stir the pot anyways so let's say Sunday (11/2) @ 6pm Server time? Gear or no gear, its an achievement and the tunnels handle open world better than most planets i feel. Someone wanna call that out on pub side and ill handle imp side?
  11. Good times, picked up close to 500 kills. Fighting all over oricon was a blast. Thanks to everyone who put it together and came out.
  12. Thanks to Its Not A Trap for putting this together. After somehow getting put in both ops groups I got my title and about 1400 kills
  13. I know Im still gonna be there with probably 5-10 guildmates
  14. I'll be there and probably bring a few guildmates also
  15. Thanks to the drunk tanks for organizing the event and thanks to Nati for stoking the fire to keep it going! I think everyone started to leave around 930 but that was enough time to get 2 full ops groups going for about an hour after we found out about the turrets insta spawning (WTH bioware?). Pubs need to watch those flanks next time lol
  16. I second this. It's fairly easy to get into but there are tons of elites in there. That could pose a problem depending on spawn time.
  17. Dirtyratz, Imperial Exiles, Guild rep Guild Masters and Representatives: 1) What days and times are your guild most active? We are mostly active in the evening but if i had to pick a day it would be friday. we keep a consistent 20-30 online during the day in case of daytime events also. 2) Would your guild be interested in being directly contacted when we plan to host an event? I'm open to being contacted for events and passing it along for guild master approval. 3) Would your guild be interested in offering us help should we need it or vice versa? Arrangements could be made; Right event right time. Everyone: 4) What are some locations where you would like to see events held? What type of event would you like there? Depending on the event. Open World pvp events i would like to be hosted @ locations with less of a turn around time for respawn/travel back. 5) What other types of events would you like to see? How would you like to see that event run? 6) How did you like the way we ran our events in the past? (Past participants only) If not, how would you change it? The open world event was the only one i was able to partake in. Different planet, more communication and a whole lot more imps Those interested in PvP Dueling Tournaments: 7) Would you be interested in buy-ins? If so how much? (Keep in mind current prize money comes directly from our guild funds. Therefor without buy-ins the grand prize will most likely never go over 1 million credits) A buy in is perfectly acceptable. If you're confident enough to enter, you should be confident enough to put down a REASONABLE wager (like nothing over 100k) 8) How did you like the /roll to determine who chose the fight location? (Past participants only) If you didn't like this system, how would you change it? Those interested in Open World PvP Events: 9) Would you prefer this event be monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.? (Won't be weekly unless someone else will run the other 3 weeks) You could whisper me at anytime of the day/night and say "im attacking a pub base" and my response would be "WHERE" In all seriousness, weekly is probably too frequent. Monthly or Bi weekly is probably the best option.
  18. The Imperial Exiles will be making an appearance.
  19. Wouldn't the pubs knowing when and where make this event more successful?
