I've got to say I have loved ever minute I've played this game, and to answer the original question: Very much so.
I have Sith Assassin at 40 whom I am quite attached to, and have enjoyed from the minute I rolled him up until now.
I can agree the music can be sparse but when it does kick in, it is fulfilling to a degree I have not had equaled since Jedi Outcast.
Republic side I have mixed emotions about. When playing a Jedi Class the story seems very much as expected (For Knight anyway). For my trooper I just can't seem to get attached to anyone in the story.
I'm not sure how many of you would do this when playing a game, but I try to give reason as to why my character is doing whatever it is they are doing. Not only does ToR help with this, it almost does it for you.
As for it's "feel" that can attributed to personal taste. As I started playing I started re-reading a lot of... Anything Star Wars related, eventually just going to the wiki and reading page after page. The planets, the people and even the interactions between them seem spot on. I have to go to a planet and think "this could be from another sci-fi universe"
