  1. It is trade theft. Person earning very little money or no money in other country is farming credits. That persons credits is owned by credit farming wholesaler boss. Wholesaler boss sells to reseller that sells to customers in EU or US. Instead of customer here or in EU paying another month of subscription to earn item he/she wants he/she is giving that money to [here come the $10 an hour censors can't say what I want]. It is stealing trade from US. I will go to another forum where over censorship is not practiced. Goodbye SWTOR forums
  2. The limit is actually 100 since there is a trading network in Hutt space but since it is not convenient nor does it have multiple locations it goes unused so the effective limit is really 50. The green crafted items some of you are calling trash sell regularly for me at about a 40 to 60% rate so 4 out of 10 items sell then I put those back in and those all sell eventually too. So I really don't find the argument that they are trash legitimate at all. Furthermore it is better to have a variety of items for new people that are trying to level. I occasionally put 2 to 5 green items up for sale at 50% what the GTN says the price should be that I should have vendored just to see what the sell rate is. I am surprised sometimes when they actually sell. I would say it's probably a 20% to 30% sell rate so it's better to just vendor it given the situation Bioware has put us in with the 50 item limit. So I'm guessing that level 45 green helmet was bought by someone who wasn't able to get his armoring and mods and enhancements yet but this helmet was just alittle bit better on stats than what he was currently wearing so he said what the heck. I'm a cybertech. When and if I put armoring and mods and earpieces I try to put only one of each type in there. So for example 1 each of Might armoring 17 resolve armoring 17 force wielding armoring 17 if I have a blue version of one or all of those I'll put them in there two because after all it is not the same item and further it highlights the difference between the green and blue version. I understand the need to put a check and balance against people who would try to "corner the market" on here but the 50 item limit is too low for crafters unless the GTN is placed in more locations and the HTN is also placed in more locations. I can craft armoring, mods, earpieces and grenades. Plus I am picking up blues and on rare occasions unusable purples from doing missions and schematics and companion gifts from underworld trading that I can't use because they are imperial or courting. Add all that stuff to what I can craft 49 levels of 4 to 5 types of armoring, mods and earpieces and the fact that I'm trying to make blues and purples in crafting and the limit is too low for me. It's too low for the buyer to have variety and it's to low for me because I have to keep running back to the fleet to top off my limit. I could write a whole comedy sketch about going down to my local WM and informing the manager there will now be a 50 item per employee limit and "what is all this single item stuff on your shelves it's hurting my eyes" and bringing along my censor to put his hand over his mouth if he replies with negative feedback and informing him he will now have to travel everyday back to the other country to get his restock.
  3. We all know this game has a lot of bugs in it right? So let's post them. Video or it didn't happen right? So let's use the free version of fraps to record the bug. Most bugs only take a small amount of time to video. Bug: This guy thinks he has guns in his hands. Pew pew pew ha ha gotcha! Location: Voss Date and time: 2/3/12 2:47AM Server: Zakegg Beast Computer: AMD 6 core 3.2 Ram: 4gb DDR3 Connection: Fios (my roomate hardly uses it) Graphics card: GTX 460 overclocked http://youtu.be/WbfRl7lj-0Q
  4. 3 shots of charged burst before and after clicking illegal mods which is a 20% increase in alacrity. http://youtu.be/Qwz_FvI8BMU Maybe it's too subtle for you to see here. Maybe I can take another fraps of it where it's very noticeable.
  5. Ok... The longer mobs beat on you the more likely you are going to die. If there are 3 mobs beating on you then it is in your best interests to make that 2 mobs beating on you and then 1 mob beating on you If you can increase the speed that the first one dies that's less mobs beating on you at one time=you live kill them as fast as possible before they kill you. How about the opposite extreme. Every 10 seconds you go pew pew and there are 3 mobs beating on you. You will die! Why? Because they are killing you faster than you can kill them. 3x1=3 All 3 are hitting you at once=more damage=you die If you give them time they will cause damage to you. If you give them no time they will not cause damage. But what if you can kill #1 right away and dump say 70% of your energy on it. Is it worth it? For me Hellz yeah. Cuz I can kick the next one in the nuts, slow the third one with a shock charge, walk backwards, click a med pack and the whole time my energy is regenerating plus I got "cool head" or "all in" or sabotage for a good rush of energy. I am a saboteur gunslinger and I just got an ability called illegal mods that says it increases your alacrity by 20% for some seconds. Well If my alacrity is already high then a 20% increase is going to be a good increase. Every time I hit that thing my charged burst rapidly fires and I spam it as much as I can and burn down mobs health quickly. Normally it is a 1.5 second cast but with the alacrity change it is quite fast. I value it in that state as the same as all my other instant casts.
  6. I just started reverse engineering today. I didn't even know that's how you got blues and purples. I think I've made 8 blues. Takes me between 3 and 15 items to get the blue recipe. So far it seems the lower level ones I get faster. I decided to try and create a purple earpiece from reverse engineering the blue earpiece I just made. After about 12 times trying I realized I am tearing through mats and money for no result so in conclusion. 20 to 25 times is the maximum limit I will tolerate to create a purple.
  7. And the big holo comm graphic that appears on the left of your screen looks like a refridgerator magnet. They either need to go 3d or 2d with it not large 2d object pretending to be 3d.
  8. When i send all my crew out on underworld trading mission the countdown timer in the lower left of the screen when moused over says "your crew member is away selling your gray items." AFAIK the vendor that sells differently labeled enhancements with identical stats is the equipment modification commendations officer on Belsavis. Scavenging materials on the auction house are not sortable by grade.
  9. Eset has an Artificial Intelliegence that quarantines files that look like they are virus but are not on it's list and it's list is updated daily.
  10. I'm going to disagree with you on Guss and I know I'm not alone. I'm saboteur and I stuck with Guss because he's got heals, stuns and a little bit of DPS. I tried Risha and stuck with her for the longest time after Corso until I came to that beast in the cave on Hoth with 71k health that's guarding the datacron. I tried it twice with Risha and no luck. I said what the heck and tried Guss and just walked backwards the whole time in the cave doing laps around it kiting him and silly Guss just stood in one place and cheer leaded me and healed me and stunned the beast every time I passed by. I completed it with no problem. Burned him all the way down and my "all in" was still on cooldown and my sabotage (not sabotage charge) was not useable for some reason (which I think might be a bug because I see it just sometimes turn off during a fight) so I was kiting this guy on mostly my worst attack after draining my energy and using up coolhead once. That sold me on Guss.
  11. 1) Give us 6 names to choose from for our companion, I don't think it would require lots of voice acting having to be done or redone. 2) Space missions - Change the location of the tooltip when you mouse over the icon of our ship in the lower left corner during space combat so it does not cover our action bar. It's big and easy to mouse over. 3) Make sortable by grade companion gifts and scavenged metals on the GTN. 4) Add more GTN kiosks, maybe one on every planet space port or entry port. Some should be Hutt Trading Network kiosks instead or if that is out of place then find places HTN kiosks can be put in some other areas on the planets or the HTN will continue to be of very little use and the 50 item limit on the GTN remains the effective limit of the game. A 50 item limit makes me travel back to the fleet every few hours in order to keep my item limit topped off.
  12. If it happens I'm unsubscribing and I guarantee you I'm not the only one. Everyone has the right to dislike what they dislike. The rules say not to insult so I could not say what I truly think of this idea.
  13. Why don't you come over and find out? My ship is in the smuggler hangar on the republic fleet. You'll know it's my ship cuz it has a sign on the door that says BYOM - Bring your own meds Soft landings, Zagess
  14. Also you guys have to remember that in that other game there is a VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF GOLD FARMERS which ruin the game. If you think cross server LFG tool = anonymity/no responsibility try person from China playing with stolen or fraudulent credit card. Those gold farmers don't just all stay in one place and farm the same trash mobs over and over again 100% of the time. A lot of them level up and use the LFG tool and ninja gear. They just have a quota to meet of gold farmed and they can do it whatever way they want except maybe the prisoners that are gold farmers. The gold farms are also a little diverse too. Some are small ones with only 40 computers where you come in and do your 12 hours and leave and some are buildings with floors of people and some are prisoners playing and the guards sell the gold to wholesalers who then sell it to US and European players which is basically trade theft and jobs transferring overseas for lower wages because the buyers here and in Europe are paying these people instead of paying additional subscription time to the WOW. So the same applies here to Bioware and SWTOR except we don't have 300,000 gold farmers yet. So you want to have a nice game that will then carry over into a LFG tool then whenever you see gold farmers report and discourage. As players if we identify them and pressure them to leave then we will all have a better play experience.
  15. You know there are other things that could be added to a LFG tool to make it more user friendly than what WOW did besides dividing the FP's by difficulty type. For the person choosing "I want to be the group leader" You can have drops downs for: Hardcore/strict: I may tell you how to play your class. I expect you to use a dps meter and I will have access to that info. I will also check your gear before letting you in. I am very strict. I have to complete this FP and do it very well. If you do not keep up I might kick you out. Reported for ninjaing penalty is 5 day ban from LFG tool and requires 3 people vote. Medium difficulty: We will all use a dps meter and/or gear scoring system but I will not have access to this information it is private unless you toggle it on to be viewable by all. You will be expected to play very well. I really want to finish this FP with minimum wipes. I will not tell you how to play but I will expect you to hold up your end. We use a group "vote to kick" system requiring 3 people to agree. Reported for ninjaing penalty is 3 day ban from LFG tool. Casual/easy: We don't use meters. We're not in it to win it or die. We're mostly first or second timers to this flashpoint or we're just in it for fun and don't mind too much if we wipe a few times. Reported for Ninjaing loot is 2 day ban from LFG tool. -- For the non-leaders we could have something like Hardcore: I'm in it to win it baby. Dps meters, gearscores, voice chat whatever the requirement I'm in. I'm willing to share all dps and other combat info with the other players and the leader and I know the leader might kick me out for underperforming with a minimum vote of 2 people. Medium: I've been through this FP before at this difficulty level and I want to improve my playing so I can eventually move to being a hardcore player. I use a dps meter and I know the other players do too but I still have the choice whether or not the other players see this information. Casual/easy: This is my first time through the FP or I don't use a dps meter or I just don't want to redo it for practice so I can move up to medium eventually or I just want to take the FP too seriously and prefer a relaxed atmosphere.
  16. I'm a fairly new player that got invited to a pretty decent sized guild. There's plenty of chit chat. Just for background Info I have an 85 mage and 75 paladin and played that game off and on over the last 4 years and I used the LFD tool a lot and got up to the heroic levels. Here's my opinion about all of this. The blanket generalization that having anonymity means the players using it will act rude, obnoxious, unfair and play bad. That when using a tool like this you are less valued as a player so people will abuse you more. That creating a cross server looking for group tool will encourage people to abuse it that would normally not be able to or would normally be pressured to behave if it did not exist to some degree it is true even though it's quite a generalization when you just say it flat out like "anonymity = community ruined." But the thing is you cant just take peoples freedom of action away on the basis of a minority abusing the system and by that token a lot of things on the internet should also be deleted/removed such as forums. Here's my argument Why can't we have both or why can't we have something that is in the middle - between the current "beg the thirty or less people to do a flashpoint every 2 minutes until you give up" system and the cross server LFG tool wow style? Not everybody works the same shift. Most work day, some work night and some work swing/2nd. Not everybody plays the same days because not everybody has a 9-5 m-f and some people are single and some people are married or coupled. There is a diversity of people with different life styles. How about a cross server begging system like the one we have now with too short of a note area so people don't know which mission or fp you want to do. Is that too much of a change for you guys? So you beg people for 10 minutes off and on while your doing quests on X planet and you get no action. There is a little highlighted note on the who tab that says "not having any luck finding a group? Check this box and cross server LFG chat will be temporarily added to your chat bar." And you get another semi transparent tab added to your chat window allowing you to beg even more people (just kidding) - ask a wider audience to do your FP. I think there is some middle ground that could be done between begging a small group of players and getting fed fed up and a cross server LFG tool that allows people to abuse the system too easily.
  17. Do you mean it turns dark and you think you can't use it because that happens to me also rendomly but if you click it it still works. Also does this happen to anyone else? I mean any other saboteur smugglers out there? Sabotage (the orange icon with the stick of dynamite in the middle) keeps turning off in the middle of fights and I'm guessing it is happening when your companion gets to far away.
  18. It was my smuggler ship and I'm talking to you from the past. I found a hyperspace conduit and came from about 40 galaxies away. You can't see my grave because it's underwater like Bioware.
  19. There was a level 7 item in a chest on belsavis yesterday. Maybe a dev made a freudian slip while he was reading this thread.
  20. This game uses the answering machine with a cutoffed 5 second message model for their Looking for group tool. Imagine you told your friend "OK I know you really need to go to that bar to pick up that chick and you need me to be your wing man. Tell you what, when you're ready leave me a message on my answering machine but do it quick - 5 seconds - and if I feel like answering you or doing it I will. The next day you come home and press play "9:43am beep hey man you ready to go to that bar I nee.... beeeep" "10:45am Hey dude you up yet I'm ready to go out to ... beeeep" "11:57am So dude are you up and around yet. Are we gon... beeeep" "1:23pm Please man you said you were going to go ou....beeeeeep" 5 messages later you: hey anybody want to help Jerry out at the bar and be his wing man? Sister: no I got stuff to do You: Yeah so do I Little brother: Put an ad in the paper Mom: giggle silence ...... CSI is on at 8 Grandma: What's the upside for me? That's the looking for group tool.
  21. 1) It requires you to know what category the thing you need in falls under as though you know all info about all classes and items in the game like you are a dev or very experienced player. It was designed from a structure viewpoint instead of a function viewpoint. Search box should be on top unqualified. 2) Although it seems to be designed on structure instead of function it for some really odd reason does not separate gloves, helmets, boots etc., from each other. 3) You get the same notice in the mail when your item does not sell from both the Hutt network and the GTN and they are both titled as being from the GTN. Leaving you clueless as to how many items came from which trading network. 4) It inserts a 1 in the price field and that is very annoying. 5) It does not sort metals or companion gifts by grade even though it has been designed by structure instead of function 6) Quite frequently I get "successful item sale" mails that seem to by trying to hide exactly what item it is that I successfully sold because it is just described as "item". Yes after the one hour time limit is up. 7) 50 item limit causes a large amount of "vendoring your greens" because your cargo hold is full of orange items and mats for crafting and a little bit of sellable items and you are at the 50 item limit. 8) 50 item limit also causes you to go back to fleet every 3 hours to top off your item limit wasting money and time you could be doing flashpoints or missions/quests. 9) 50 item limit also causes lack of shopping choice for low level people, i.e. you are blocking trickle down economics. I am happy to throw in 20 to 30% low level crafted items just to help the newbies/low levels out. 10) Trying to use the hutt trading network to live with the 50 item limit doesn't work because I just tried it yesterday and got a 100% returns for the same profile of items I sell regularly well on the GTN. So it needs to be more easily accessible to both factions or have more locations. The first thing that pops in my head is a GTN kiosk on every planets entry point except for planets where an HTN would be more appropriate. HTN should be clearly labeled in bold so people know it is the HTN not the GTN 11) With the GTN being this annoying and having crew reporting in close it adds to the dissatisfaction and frustration. Try this excercise with the GTN, go get a new player to see if he can find a rank 4 companion gift or a grenade with slow effect on the GTN.
  22. No it won't, watch the clone wars cartoon. And one more thing. I thoroughly enjoyed the water content in WOW.
  23. They found the Millenium Falcon at the bottom of the Baltic Sea with a set of long skid marks!! It's the size of a 747 and is the same shape as the smuggler ship. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2012/01/25/pkg-bowman-shipwreck-treasure-hunters.cnn
