  1. I considered an operative, but my biggest drawback is how easy they die if caught. Make no mistake, if I see an operative out of stealth he's gonna die. I also love them attempting to kill me, they usually do about 50% of your hp then you turn around and mutilate them. Perhaps I'll try one.
  2. Ok, here's the deal so far. I have a level 50 sentinel, leveled to 50 months ago, quit for months and came back recently. This sentinel is heavily geared, mostly battlemaster with some rakata, and I absolutely love the class. PvP is a total blast of careless jumping in and shredding. I do the daily every day, typically winning 3 games in a row, since I queue with some other heavily geared guys (WH Sentinel + BM Healer Commando + BM Vanguard). I really wanted to roll another class, but I'm really struggling with leveling anything because nothing is as fun as Sentinel. Currently, I have - Lvl 42 Sith Sorcerer. PvE leveling is fine, PvP is a total borefest. Tried DPS and heal, both are just "come and kill me" specs. Lightning plants a big target on your head and healing makes you public enemy #1. Probably won't continue to level, since I know I can't be bothered gearing him at 50. Lvl 18 Jedi Shadow. Started recently, quite fun really, but sucks nads in PvP. From the shadow forums, I'm pretty much figured out that rolling a shadow to do any form of DPS is a joke and that they're basically only suitable as tanks for the most part. I believe you can use them for DPS when geared at 50, but leveling as dps spec seems to be agreed as a bad idea - which totally threw me off the class. Double bladed stealthy type? Nope, he's a tank... I mean really? Seems like flawed design IMO... Lvl 20 gunslinger. Probably the most fun so far in PvE (easily the most powerful, kills things far faster than my sentinel did at this level, and his gear is terrible. Problem? **** in PvP. Totally ****. Gunslinger behind cover is a massive "come kill me" for any melee class, and I know that never changes because I kill snipers for fun on my sentinel. They really are almost free kills if i have force camo off cooldown, and I'm seeing this happening to me in warzones. Any stealth class or marauder is ripping me to bits. Lvl 24 commando. Rolled this months and months ago before I quit because I think they're totally overpowered. The gunnery tree is beyond insane in PvP, and they're fast killers in PvE too. Right now, I'm leaning towards leveling this one more, but I don't particularly enjoy spamming the same key over and over, because at 24 you only have grav round and nothing that synergizes with it from later in the tree. Well that's what I have so far. I'm in a total bind regarding leveling these characters or starting another, because after sentinel nothing seems as involved or active or fun. Sentinel leveling in PvE was a huge blend of leaping everywhere aggro everything doc heals you through it with defensive cooldowns and insane damage. Felt like a damage whirlwind most of the time, and no other class has come close since. So, should I just stick with that sentinel and give up with making alts, or can anyone give me any advice? I am primarily a PVPer, but I will level through both PvE and PvP, since it's faster and easier.
  3. Gonna butt in here. I run FP/Ops in Battlemaster and I've never had any issues. I put out fine dps despite expertise being useless. I do have 4 columi and 1 rakata piece, but I don't bother switching out for HM FP, no point at all. For HM ops? Yeah, I'd probably switch out.
  4. Going dark side with any republic is awful. Most conversions go something like this - Them - Please, I need help with <something> Me - I don't care, that's lame. Them - Oh please, I heard you're really awesome *Errr wut? I'm 8k dark side points, hardly town hero...* Me - Nope. Lame. Them - Ahha, this is a quest, if you want this, and the XP it rewards, you HAVE to be nice. Me - *Accept quest* <Lame *** light side phrase>. You can't be dark side republic, it doesn't work. All the conversations make you be the stupid saviour of the galaxy eventually.
  5. One sentinel with watchman spec can do every single one. Optimize your group.
  6. But you can prevent a whole team, since you can tabdot them all with super long dots while surviving due to far too much cc and utility.
  7. With you bro. Free month, debated on re-subbing but did in the end, hit 50, started the valor grind, didn't even reach BM. 3 days left, cancelled and I don't even log in now. It's sad, cause I love SW and the whole IP. Launching with so little pvp content in 2012 is dumb. If we wanted pve we'd buy ME3. MMO's need strong pvp content. Yes, cater for the carebears, hell, even I raided a few times in SWTOR, but 3 wz and a failplanet is not gonna cut it.

They can fight and kill Maul (sure, qui-gon fell asleep and died, but hey...), but some scrap metal with a small shield isn't even worth the attempt? Same with arena on geonosia. Jedi vs Sith - Super powerful, amazing duelist (See Obi/Anakin on Mustafar). Jedi vs anything else - Piss weak, lucky to survive. Spends more time running and hiding that actually doing something.   11. This, but sub 2 wz for 5 mins. Logged in. Won 2 wz. Joined a civil war, 2 monkeys went right, 2 went left and 3 went mid, 7 man team. Result? Mid lost, right lost, left lost. 3 cap instantly? Leave. Log off.
  12. Dude, celebrate. Sentinel is one of the only classes that can do it solo. Challenged my sage mate to do it, he tried 3 times, all different saet-ups and couldn't. Trooper mate couldn't either. Celebrate.
  13. No, they just piss out gear at every run. Normal mode EV can be blown through in no time at all, and it pisses out about 12 columi pieces per run, does a weekly quest that pisses out more columi tokens and drops a **** ton of tionese crap all over, along with more gear. HM EV is the same, drops gear like it's going out of fashion, columi and rakata with ease.

  15. Firstly, a quote I take as personal truth - Kreia - "If you were to battle an old Sith Lord in a lightsabre duel, you would find that we're only children playing with toys." Secondly. Sidious isn't the only lord to have wiped out the jedi. The triumvirate pretty much did it, and hand Kreia not been wrong about the exile's strength, they would have succeeded. Sion was practically immortal, nihilus could drain entire planets to death. The old sith lords absolutely dwarf some lightsaber skills and some force fancies with telekinesis.
  16. Server comes up at 11:30am, within minutes 15+ Empire in central farming armaments for weeklies/dailies. We can't even get half of that, with a group 6 of being told "no point, they just zerg" whenever we try and get more. Past few days have been a case of staying online till 2am to get 30 armaments. So sad. No problem, warzone time. 3 wins? Easy... Oh wait. 11 Empire on 1 side? Woo hoo. Leave that one then. 5 Sorcerors in a civil war game? Slaughtered. The 11.6k hp sage and 12.4k hp vanguard didn't help much either. Next one. Why are they all battlemasters? I mean all of them. Fighting at a door in voidstar, tabbing round, every single title is "Battlemaster"... "Battlemaster".... "Battlemaster". Lost that too btw. That 11.6k hp sage is still queuing. Voidstar again, oh it's those sorcerors again. They won attacking round in 4 mins flat. Bomb door one, speed through to bridges and door two without killing anyone, speed through to walls and door 3. All the while we're stuck trying to catch up while perma slowed by that unkillable battlemaster juggernaut and his two pocket healers. They had the datacore before half of us made it to the third room. Woo hoo. Perhaps PvE. Except our sunday night HM EV raid ran into so many Soa bugs we gave up after 15+ wipes. Pyramids not breaking his shield? Yep. Missing platforms? Yep. Mind trap main tank? Yep. Cyclone making people untargetable? Got that too. Random aggro in P3? Check. Perhaps I could run some HM fp, except everyone has ran them so many times we could do them with 3 fingers, one eye and a few toes sellotaped on various keyboard keys. No-one is interested in running more. I know. I'll log on my Sorceror. Has no guild, and sh*t gear, but nvm, I can do this! Queue up. Civil war, we had so many healers it was a lolfest. Held 3 cap early on, they can't cap ****, just heal everything and dot any wannabe-cappers. Hammered them. Re-queue, solo again. Huttball. I didn't even do anything here, stood on the sides spamming Force Lightning and some heals. 6 free medals, thanks guys. 6-1 win, the other 7 on my team scored every single one, I didn't even help. Re-queue, queue pops... And... *Leave Queue*... *Log off* Lost interest already for the day. My server is so heavily Empire dominated that more and more republics are just quitting, and nothing is even said about it. "We're watching faction imbalance" is great BW, but I can watch Dora The Explorer and do more useful stuff than you have up to this point. I'm a hardcore SW fan, read countless books and played countless games, but if something isn't fun anymore, I'm not gonna bother.
  17. Just want to say this. For everyone saying "Have the whole group run under pyramids in P3" - Ballz to the face. Eat some more lightning. And some more. And some more. Also, 6s taunt, 2s into it... Soa - "Gunslinger LAWL" *Runs across entire platform to 1shot gunslinger who is targetting a mind trap* We wiped about 15 times on this and gave up. Our RNG wasn't being nice on the bugs last night. Guess you guys who got lucky RNG rolls on the instakill balls and cyclone at 30%, or "mindtrap MT - reset", or random aggro in P3, or pyramid landing on his head and not getting rid of the shield or platforms not spawning or rubberbanding to edge, or "not in range" on combat rez while stood next to someone should all feel damn lucky and thank whichever diety is your own.

  19. Quit giving trashy advice. I managed 1-50 at the same level as quests perfectly fine. Sure it's rough. Get your gear up to date (Every two levels mods can be upgraded.) and learn to play the class better. Rebuke should be up every fight. Overload saber/Cauterize everything. Awe/Pacify elites, take out their trash first. Keep might stims at all levels -Awesome boosts.
  20. Stay watchman. The lower levels are rough, there is no doubt about it. Once you push past level 30, things start easing off, once you get Doc about 35 you're a wrecking ball for the last 15 levels. Stick with it. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing you maxed (quite possibly) the hardest class in the game to level, and our endgame damage is insane. Well worth the wait. Overload Saber at level 20. Changes your game. Have that and Cauterize bound to Q and E.
  21. Aaaaand that's why you're bad. 3 stacks of OS and a Cauterize +_ zen = 6k+ dmg. Oh look. Valorous Call. Do it again! Nothing kills faster than double zen. 12 crits of dots and 36% hp back for a watchman. We effectively have 136% per every fight, enough to kill anyone.
  22. Cunning and Power = bigger heals. Endurance is worthless, he's never gonna take aggro and when he does he heals through it with ease.
  23. Ignore what they all said - How to beat any class boss - Doc. Also, all that about 30,000,000 interrupts is nads. Kick works for almost everything, it's a low enough CD. Watchman 6s cd means you should almost never need to interrupt with anything else.
