  1. Hello, I have been working on getting the "best" standard patterns on my different character's crafting abilities with the intent of gearing up my companions quickly and easily. Before you say anything, yes, I am aware 152-quality crafted gear isn't "great" compared to the moddable 148 drops or raid gear. That is irrelevant to this topic. The problem: There are significant inconsistencies with the available green (134 quality, level 54) patterns you can buy from the crafting vendors as an artificer, as in, some of them that should be there, simply aren't. I've noticed this so far in armstech with sniper rifles and artifice with aim generators. At 106-quality (level 48) you have the following patterns: - Willpower (DPS/heals) - Focus of Devastating Power - Willpower (Shadow DPS) - Hyperaccelerated Power Generator - Willpower (Tank) - Transmodal Shield Generator - Aim (Tank) - Hyperaccelerated Defense Generator - Aim (DPS/Heals) - Reflex Enhancement Generator - Strength (DPS) - Relentless Battle Generator - Strenght (Tank) - Hyperaccelerated Shield Generator This is the standard model for each new tier of gear you can craft. One offhand for each class and role (Cunning obviously is missing because those are made by other crafting skills) The problem comes in at the higher skill levels. At 122-quality (level 52) you get the following patterns: - Willpower (Tank) - Expeditious Power Generator - Willpower (DPS/Heals) - Focus of Destructive Power - Strength (Tank) - Expeditious Shield Generator - Strength (DPS) - Unrelenting Battle Generator At 134-quality (level 54) you get the following patterns: - Willpower (Tank) - Hypersonic Power Generator - Willpower (DPS/Heals) - Focus of Overwhelming Power - Strength (Tank) - Hypersonic Shield Generator - Strength (DPS) - Unyielding Battle Generator Both of these tiers of gear of missing three possible patterns. They are both missing Aim (DPS/Heals), Aim (Tank), and Shadow (DPS). The Shadow DPS can be forgiven because there is no reason they can't use the focus, but to not have Aim offhands at all seems like a very large oversight to me. There is a similar problem with Armstech. There is no 134-quality (level 54) sniper rifle, though all other weapons and stat variations are fairly represented. So...by design? Mistake? Could we please get some word on this?
  2. Like I said, I'm using them for the sole purpose of gearing companions quickly. I /could/ gear Gault (and whomever) in full 156 mods, but that's a ton more crafting mats, a lot more time commitment, and really, it's not like I'm going to use them all that much anyway...it's really just an OCD thing. I'd rather my dudes have kind of eh 152s than level 38 gear, haha. Plus, I need to make something to get my Mk-9 pieces, might as well gear up the companions
  3. Hi guys, I've recently been working on gearing up my companions with all high-end crafted gear, and I noticed something strange while working on weapons for Risha, Zenith, and Gault. There is no 134-quality green sniper rifle pattern. All other weapons have 134 -quality, level 54 greens (blaster pistols, rifles, shotguns, knives, techblades, staves, vibroswords, etc). these end up being 152 quality purples, which I think is perfectly fine for my companions. The highest sniper rifle, however, is a 122 and level 52, the Supreme Stealth Sniper. All other weapons also cover variants for different roles (i.e., there is an aim DPS 134 green blaster rifle, an aim tank 134, and a cunning DPS 134). So...is the lack of a 134 green Sniper Rifle by design, or by oversight, or what?
  4. So then, it should be fixed? =) Actually, now that I'm looking at it again (and having looked at it on a male character, heh) I can see what you mean. Scourge appears to be wearing the female model (similarly to how Qyzen wears the female model of Mira's Jacket). And that's silly.
  5. Hi, I've been playing dress-up with Lord Scourge, and noticed he has a strange body color bug when wearing more revealing gear. Here is what Scourgey looks like shirtless normally: http://i44.tinypic.com/wjhwcw.jpg As you can see, he's got the same color chest as he does face. That makes sense, no problem. Here's Scourge wearing the Relaxed Vestments chest piece: http://i40.tinypic.com/28j92.jpg Please note his chest is now much paler red than his face, and there is a "neckline" on this gear which should, of course, not be there. Thus, I believe either the gear is bugged, or his model is bugged. I understand this may be to compensate for the awkward shaping on his upper chest (The "V"s), but it should at least keep the same color.
  6. Hi. I'd like to update this suggestion (and hopefully get some backing on it!) If you open up the quest log, you can very easily expand/collapse all the quests you have for a planet by simply clicking the name of the play. This functionality also works in PART of the Legacy window. Clicking the "Global Unlocks" header expans/collapses all the options under it. That's great. Now please add this functionality to the sub-headers of the Legacy screen, specifically achievements (and all of it's sub-headers) and the Cartel Market / Collections interfaces.
  7. There are a few on my list I'd really like. Ziost, for one, would be cool. I'd like to see a situation where the Republic is heavily invading a sith world, like how the Empire is invading Corellia and Belsavis, both Republic-controlled worlds. I'd also like to see Dantooine, Naboo, and Kashyyyk.
  8. Yes please. If there was a [sign] option, I would hit it until my fingers started to bleed.
  9. I feel you, buddy. I feel really weird about spending real life money on virtual stuff. But you know...opening those boxes is fun, I enjoy it. It pleases me. If it makes you happy, then do it, and don't worry.
  10. I think there is one additional caveat to this: When you buy the item, you have the next two hours to return it. It will NOT add to your collection during that time. I bought a cheap enhancement, put it in to strip the refund timer off, and then it did, in fact, add to my collection (actually, I got the collection-adding bug, but I restarted and it was fine). Thanks guys =)
  11. Hi, This is a pretty simple request, and comes in two parts. 1) Please give us a toggle in preferences to select between the Legacy and Collection branching menus defaulting to all-open, or all-closed. I, personally, would prefer they all default to closed, and then I can navigate to what I'm looking for. 2) Please increase the area in which clicking the + or - on these screens is effective. I know it's a pretty small issue, but it's actually pretty tough to accurately click the tiny - symbol to close the branching menu. Making it a larger button, or making the area right near it also activate this function would be desirable. Or, better yet, double clicking the heading on the branching menu (e.g., clicking the "ACHIEVEMENTS" heading in the Legacy menu would close all of the branches, or open all of the branches, clicking the "x% Flashpoint" sub-header would open or close it). Thanks!
  12. Oh no, one of the best crafting skills is hurt a little bit by people able to dig up hundreds of crappy green enhancements? Emote: Boo Hoo is on sale for pretty cheap on the GTN, I think. I have literally NEVER seen a purple enhancement drop from Seeker droid, though I do believe they can. I've gotten hundreds of greens, but those are worthless. When your crafting skill becomes as useless as, say, armormech, let me know, and we can talk about a legitimate complaint.
  13. Thank you guys so much for the information, I truly do appreciate it. Time to go spend some certs =) oh, also, the Supreme Mogul hypercrate seems to drop a TON of rep. I bought one needing about 15-20k rep to hit legend last night, and I not only hit Legend, but I now have approximately 8k of rep tokens sitting in my inventory. I seriously got purple and purple after purple.
  14. Could I maybe get like...2-3 more people to confirm you CAN collect the version you buy from the contraband resale dude for 10 certs and 100k creds? I'm super hesitant to actually buy it until I am 100% certain it will collect.
  15. So, I have a question regarding the aforementioned Mask. There's the version you could get from the Cartel pack which is no longer available. There is the version you can buy from the Contraband Resale dude for 10 Certs and 100k credits. The latter has a dye module slot, making it not the exact same as the Cartel Market version. My question: will the bought version add to my collection, or no?
  16. I know way back in the day, planet quests were not able to be abandoned, and then people complained because they skipped a ton of stuff and their quest logs were full, so it was changed that you could now abandon main story quest lines from planets (e.g., I just read someone abandoning the Hoth quest line on accident). And I am 100% aware that you get a warning when you abandon a quest line (or any quest, I think) that says it may not be able to be obtained again. I don't think that is a good solution, though. I understand it is all part of how the main quest lines are handled (i.e., the "Go talk to Lt. Derpyderp at Herp Base Gamma" bit is actually a step in the larger quest itself, rather than just the beginning of a different quest), but I am entirely sure the wonderful minds at Bioware can think up a better solution than "you can never get it again and you can't skip it for now either." Some potential options: 1 - Don't have main quests count in the quest log, and return them to being not-abandonable. This way people could skip what they wanted, and it wouldn't lock down their quest log. 2 - Break up the "Go talk to ..." quests so that those people you go talk to are actually quest givers, rather than just a step in the quest, so if you abandon it at a certain point, you can re-pick it up at said person. 3 - If you abandon a planet questline, allow the player to re-engage it via their ship when they are at the planet, or add a terminal kind of like the Daily terminals that allows you to begin the planet questline from the start. I don't think this really has much abuse potential as the rewards from planet quests are hardly worth abusing, and if someone of a higher level is coming back to, say, Taris to finish a quest line, they aren't going to get any experience from it anyway. Thanks for considering!
  17. I have experienced this bug with the following items: - Republic Home gear - Republic Away gear - Dueling Banner - Copper Eviscerating Crystal - Volatile Derelict Saberstaff - Over-tuned Conquerer's Lightsaber - Primordial Blaster Besh - Gurian Tornado - Relnex's Robes - Alde Statesman's Gear The item that /finally/ got them all to pop into collections for me was ... a holoprojector disguise.
  18. You got a reward for finishing all the datacube quests? Also, I found that if you get something to later add to your collection (any random pet for like 4k from the GTN should work), it will back-add all your collection stuff that didn't work. I got my Alde and Relnex sets via this method. But seriously, I'm interested in this datacube reward you speak of. I didn't get a reward.
  19. I'm having the same problem with the "Alde Statesman's" and "Relnex's" sets.
  20. I'm having the same problem. I completed the Alde Statesman's set and the Relnex's set, and neither has added to my collection. That being said, though, my various copper crystals HAVE bound to collection, so I think it's an item problem, not a character problem.
  21. After doing a little bit of fun internet research, I found the following link: http://www.stat.tamu.edu/~west/applets/binomialdemo.html This is a binomial probability calculator. "n" = number of attempts at REing, "p" = probability (20% of greens, 10% for blues, which equates to .2 and .1 on a 0-1 scale). You can select "Prob X is exactly:" and put in 0, and it will tell you the odds that you won't get a new schematic after x tries. Or you can select "Prob X is at least" and put in 1 (or any other number) and it will tell you what the odds of having gotten at least one of said item is. The odds of someone REing 20 things and not getting a single schematic are, according to this calculator: 0.0115, or 1.15%. Tiny, but considering how many people RE, not impossible. The odds of someone REing 20 things and only getting one are: 5.76%. And for the "1 out of 5" crowd, the odds of getting 1 when you RE 5 is: 40.96% The moral of the story is...if Bioware's equations and what not are right, it sucks, but it's still possible - and not even THAT unlikely, to RE 20+ and not get a single proc. My whole original question, however, was if they are even right to begin with.
  22. I'm having this problem as well trying to craft a Level 37 kinetic shield (artifice). I've RE'd around 20, with no luck. I definitely understand the statistics (i.e., it's a 20% each time, and past failures do not change the chance of future successes [side note: that's called an illusory correlation, in case you were curious]), but a 20% chance relates to 1 out of every 5. Which, of course, being a chance and not a guarantee, means it's not going to *actually* be 1/5, but rather, as a whole, 1/5. The problem is there seems to be a significant amount of reports of not getting a new schematic after 20-30 tries, which really makes the 20% look ridiculous. I mean, if you /dice 20 times, you're damn near guaranteed to get either 1-20 or 80-100 depending on how you look at it. Anyway, I just want someone from Bioware to look and make sure their math is right. Because it doesn't seem right.
  23. I don't have a huuuuge problem with the idea of some hats having holes for the lekku to slip through (although I would imagine that would make putting a hat on fairly difficult, and would make the chin strap unnecessary :/), my main issue is with the extra fleshy head clipping through. The Twi'lek head is a bit bigger in the back because of the lekku, and because of this, most of my poor 'Slinger's head shows through most hats. 'Tis very sad. As for other races, I'm not sure what is and is not an issue. I kind of hate the "we're blind so we wear cool face masks" race, and I haven't noticed a Zabrak horns sticking through, but I am absolutely all for ALL races being able to wear headgear properly! It's a civil rights thing, really. And actually, this is probably asking a lot, but is there maybe a way to just fix clipping all together? Like, even on capes and stuff...is it not possible to have them act solid, and not hang right through the bottom of speeders, etc? Serious question, I dunno if something like that is feasible.
  24. This is a two-part request. First, black market GTNs: I'm fully aware of the Hutt GTN on Nar Shaddaa, but if we're being honest...that's too far out of the way to be useful, and it doesn't interact with the more prominent GTNs on Rep/Imp Fleets. So far as I can tell, there is no reason a level 50 would ever go to Nar Shaddaa except to use the GTN. And the economy right now isn't such that that matters. Plus, the GTN there is so far away from the space dock that it's impractical to go there if you only need to list one or two things, etc. So the suggestion here is to give classes access to GTNs. Smuggler on the republic side, and Bounty Hunter on the imperial side. These are the two classes that openly use the black market, and have no real connection to either government, so there would be no problem for a Smuggler to sell stuff to Imperials, or Bounty Hunters to make a little side cash selling weapons to Republic folks. However, that would mean a GTN for only Smuggler-BH, which is a little silly, and leads into suggestion #2: Galactic Trade Network hubs and mailboxes on player ships. I don't understand, first of all, why this wouldn't be. I mean, if we're thinking about it realistically, I use EBay and Amazon on my computer, and what are those if not modern-day GTNs? I would expect these ships capable of connecting to a network via an onboard terminal. It makes sense, and it would increase the convenience of using the GTN by a ton, thus helping player economy. The cross between these two ideas being that the GTN on Smuggler and BH ships would have access to both the black market GTN as well as the GTN of their faction. Smugglers and BHs could bring others aboard their ships if they wanted to use the black market GTN, etc. All in all, I think this would be an important and useful improvement to the game economy, and use of the somewhat desolate GTN.
  25. I would like to try to address a few of your issues, since I can relate on some, but not on others. To start, I agree with you that that game was probably rushed a little bit for release. However, I don't find this "unacceptable" but rather "inconvenient." The game was released right before Christmas, which is obviously the best time to release something, in the US at least, as there is always a massive boost in sales to basically everything right around the holiday season. You must understand, first and foremost, this game is a business. Yes, it's meant to be fun and keep subscriptions and all, but more than anything, it's meant to make money. Releasing at Christmas for that huge initial sales boost, and then fixing the things that weren't total game-breakers (you'll live without high resolution textures for a little while) is the smarter choice. Now, two at once: gear, and crafting. My first character did armormech, which I found completely useless while I was leveling to 50. But, frankly, I didn't really understand crafting, etc. My alt, now, is benefiting greatly from my armormech main. The gear I can make from my main for my alt is consistently better than anything I can find, including orange pieces with full commendation mods. I actually think Bioware did a good job on gear here. Yes, you can keep the first ever piece of orange stuff you find totally updated throughout the entire game and you'll be okay. But that's really inconvenient, and generally, you get better deals buying new gear with commendations, and FP drops. So, Ops... I'm happy to admit I've never played WoW, or any other MMO for that matter. I don't really have a strong comparison to other games here, obviously, but I've found Ops to be fun, and challenging thus far. I've also found them to not be buggy. There /were/ bugs. I recall we wiped on Soa a couple of times a few weeks ago because the floor of the second part wouldn't respawn properly. But those problems got fixed, and there has been no problem that I've seen since then. Aside from the Soa bug mentioned previously (and one other which, on normal at least, isn't a big deal - and was just fixed in this week's patch), the only bug I've seen is on Gharj, who occasionally decides to just stand there (and I've only seen that once). Regardless, though. You have to expect bugs on a game that hasn't even been live six months yet. They'll get fixed. Chill. Ilum. I agree that Ilum is a bit too big for what it really is. The only part of Ilum that matters is the center. If they would make it a bit smaller, or make other parts of it matter, I think that would be a drastic improvement. On less-populated servers (I play on ICE Breaker), the only reason to really go to Ilum is to farm armaments. Occasionally, we're able to organize big (ish) group on group PVP, but it's rare. The biggest I've been part of was about 7 on 7. But, this is almost certainly due to playing on a low population PVE server. Finally, you talk about customer service. I think this is sort of a tough topic. A lot of people seem to expect the ability to submit a ticket, and have their problem immediately solved, or to have their bug immediately fixed, or to have comprehensive correspondence on their specific issue. That's silly and unrealistic, though. There are hundreds of thousands of people playing this game, and I would imagine thousands upon thousands of tickets submitted each day. It would be ridiculous to expect a company to employ the number of people necessary to respond personally to each and every one of those tickets. Yes, I know it sucks to not receive personal attention from the CSRs, and you never "really" know if your issue is actually being looked at, and it sucks even more to never receive confirmation whether or not your issue is really an issue or not. But that's how customer service works. That how handling thousands of people providing feedback works. It's one of those things you just have to deal with. I'm not saying SWTOR is without flaws. I am saying that, for a game less than half a year old, I think it is doing a great job, and I am really excited every week to read the patch notes and see what's new, and what's been fixed. Unrelatedly, please fix the Twi'lek headgear clipping issue ^_^
