  1. Yeah, he was pretty cool for a Jedi. He was clever enough to manipulate a Sith to do what he wanted, and he actually had a sense of honor. I almost regret killing him.
  2. I work with random numbers all the time at my work, and I've done A LOT of analyses on percentages. It's not that people don't understand how random percentages work (sometimes they really don't, but I mean in general). It's more that people are surprised by how large the amount of deviation can be (I know I was). For instance, if you flipped a coin 100 times, what range of heads vs. tails would you reasonably expect to see? Would you be surprised if you got 35 heads and 65 tails? I wouldn't. Say you only flip a coin 10 times. You'd expect to get "around 5". Would you be surprised if you only got 2 heads? It happens. However, if you flipped a coin 10000 times, then I WOULD expect to see "around" 5000 heads. Seeing 3500 heads WOULD be surprising, even though it's the exact same proportion I mentioned in the 100-flips example. As the "sample size" gets larger, the proportion tends to get closer to the expected percentage. In other words, the problem is that the sample size that each player sees is VERY small. So small that it often feels unfair. THAT'S the reason that some games have "streak breaker" mechanisms. That being said, at least the percentages post-1.2 are a lot better than before.
  3. Those are called "Black-Red" crystals. They can be found in various endgame Marauder sabers. I can't remember exactly which ones, but look at Rakata (and maybe Columi) sabers for PvE, as well as Battlemaster sabers for PvP. You can yank them out and put them in your orange (augmented, hopefully) sabers.
  4. For those who can't watch YouTube: Before: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/72/dreadmasters.jpg/ After: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q222/Grospolina/Star%20Wars/DreadMasters-New.jpg The "before" pic is from a post on the first page, and the "after" pic I grabbed from a video. Um, I like the "before" pic WAY more.
  5. I'm pretty sure that you were experiencing a bug. Each phase ("Lightheaded" and "Feverish") only lasts 10 minutes. Changing zones resets the timer for your current phase. However, using an elevator or taxi doesn't count as changing zones (I went from Vaiken Spacedock to the museum in Ziost Shadow without losing time). If you die at "Lightheaded", then it persists through death. However, if you die at "Feverish", then you automatically explode, gain 5x Rakghoul DNA Samples, and are no longer infected. This doesn't damage your gear, so you don't have to pay any extra repair costs. The infected can become bugged. This seems to happen if you log out while infected, and maybe sometimes after zoning. When bugged, the timer is frozen and it no longer progresses. I'm not sure if you still get the "Sickness" debuff (stunned while throwing up), but I think you don't. Also, if you're "Feverish" and it's bugged, it will persist through death (and you won't get the Rakghoul DNA). You're effectively immune at that point (even better than the "vaccine"!). Signed, Irony
  6. Even faster would be to jump into a pit on the Fleet as soon as you turn Feverish. I just confirmed that this works. Of course, if everybody did this, it would be harder to get re-infected.
  7. That would cost a lot in repairs if you kept getting killed my mobs. You could unequip all your gear before dying, but that would be annoying to do all the time. Instead, wait until you're Feverish and then jump off a cliff. You explode, get the 5xDNA, and don't have to suffer from repair costs (falling deaths don't damage your gear). AFK in fleet is less work, but takes longer.
  8. The quest is called "First Strike" and you receive it after finishing the planetary quest line for Corellia. This quest has always been buggy: 1. If you were a BH and chose the Dark Side option in "Number One With A Bullet", you wouldn't get this quest. This is fixed, apparently. 2. If you obtained this quest, the first step is "Travel to the Imperial Fleet". If you use the Emergency Fleet Pass to get there, it wouldn't update to the next step. The workaround is to use your ship, go to another planet and come back to fleet. Another workaround is to talk to a flashpoint droid and get a flashpoint quest. If you were able to abandon it (i.e. it's not in your Mission Log anymore), then an in-game report might be a good idea. You probably can't go back to Corellia to pick it up again.
  9. Some more clarification: If you do Passenger List (for the first time ever) today, then Hybrid Strain will be available tomorrow. (Passenger List will also be available tomorrow, so you don't have to worry about losing any quests.)
  10. This happened to me as a Sith Warrior as well. My conclusion is that everyone likes to walk around the ship in their underwear when you're away. The most unintentionally funny cutscene was one where a character quipped, "I see you ride your crewmates hard!". That's the punchline. For the full story, there are some pretty big spoilers:
  11. Besides the fact that there are no Hard Mode versions of those flashpoints, there's also the gear aspect. Each boss drops a specific type of gear. The final boss of each HM drops a specific Columi token. For instance, the final boss of Kaon Under Siege drops the token for a Columi Helmet. If you need that piece, then you need to do that FP. The alternatives are to do normal mode Ops, or to earn enough Columi Commendations to buy the piece(s) you need. See the loot drop lists (stickied) for more info.
  12. Thanks Almar! Using a combination of your guide and YouTube videos, I've obtained all of the Empire datacrons. Some of them are tricky (a.k.a. buggy)! I just wanted to mention a few things that you might want to add: Dromund Kaas (Str +2): The exit to Docking Bay D-61 is not marked on the map. To get to it, go to the spaceport in Dromund Kaas and take one of the elevators on the south side. I can't remember exactly which one it is, but like I said, there's no "elevator" mark on the map. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not (since it's a "secret"). When you're inside Docking Bay D-61, the exit back to the main spaceport area is also unmarked. Belsavis (Aim +4): Not really a tip, but the original way of getting this datacron was to cross an "invisible" bridge over the lava. If you angle the camera right, you can still see the bridge. However, you can no longer jump onto the bridge (you pass right through it). Alderaan (Aim +4): As someone else mentioned, you can also get this datacron by jumping up the rocks from the water. I found this much easier than trying to jump on the broken lift. Balmorra (Willpower +2) This is the datacron in Bugtown, when you have to buy a Lost Code Cylinder in order to open a chest containing the datacron. The chest remains open for 5 minutes (I think), and any number of people can get the datacron at this time. Also, your Republic description of this (Aim +4) is better than your Empire description, but it should be the same. Corellia (Aim +4): This is the one where you click the bomb and it sends you flying. Note that you always fly in the direction that YOUR BACK is facing, so aim your back to where you want to go. If you stand with your back facing off to the side, then you will go flying off to the side, no matter where you're standing. This is also useful to know for enemies that cause knockback (like in Ops). Corellia (Presence +4): In the second paragraph, you tell people to be careful jumping down to the pipes, but then you say that it's easier not to jump. I'd remove the bit about jumping entirely. There's a small gap in the railing where you can drop down from. MGGS: The MGGS that you can buy on Alderaan is useful for 3 datacrons: - Alderaan (Str +4) - Corellia (Green Matrix Shard) - Republic/Imperial Fleet (All Stats +10) I recommend getting it even though you don't actually need it for the Alderaan (Str +4) datacron. Also note that it's VERY buggy. Jumping: The most reliable way of jumping from standing that I found was to "roll" your fingers from jump (spacebar) to forward (W). This makes you jump a good distance forward without needing a running start. I used to press forward and jump at the same time, but I kept falling off things. Falling Deaths: Sometimes after getting a datacron, you end up on a high ledge with what looks like no way down. Sometimes you can get down safely (by jumping on outcroppings in the wall below), but it doesn't matter. If you fall and die (even in lava), you'll rez at the nearest medical droid. Falling deaths don't damage your gear (ever), so you don't have to worry about repair costs. It's a good thing to know when going after the All Stats +10 datacron on the fleet.
  13. Your first post and you were already linked by a moderator (here)! Congrats! However, note that those are only the Republic level 50 dailies. The Empire's level 50 dailies are different. Here are a few notes about them: Daily Missions on Ilum: Poisonous Strategy (Heroic 2+) Operation Shatterstorm Defend the Shipment - bugged, crates don't work shortly after a server reset A Tightened Grip Sabotage - sometimes bugged, sometimes the mining equipment doesn't reset Rightful Owner Daily Mission on Belsavis: Old Enemies (Heroic 4) Lights Out (Heroic 4) Invisible Threat Unintended Consequences Freeing the Fallen (Heroic 2+) Ancient Transmissions Found in Translation Reluctant Volunteers Droid Malfunction - bugged? doesn't seem to appear until after you turn in "Reluctant Volunteers" The Carriers of Xenovirus Prime Deadly Mutations All Heroics give 3 comms plus an award. All non-Heroics give 1 comm. Are you sure "Darkness on Ilum" gives you more Daily commendations for doing the bonus? I haven't heard that mentioned anywhere. There aren't any Imperial dailies that give you extra Daily comms, AFAIK. The bonus for "Poisonous Shipment" (Ilum) only gives you a few Legacy XP (not worth it IMO). Also note that the final Daily space mission (Operation New Eclipse / Operation Ascendant Pride) gives you 2 Daily commendations. You have to pick this up from your ship console.
  14. I can confirm this. You can first see the last Plug-6 Fighter on the first pass of the minelayer. It's in the distance and flies behind the minelayer (heading toward the right side of the screen). After it gets to the edge of the screen, it flies back toward the left and then turns to fly toward you and past you on the left. You can destroy all 4 targets (with missiles) on the first pass of the minelayer and still have enough time to destroy the Plug-6 Fighter afterwards.
