  1. The "sir" thing is actually explained in the game's codex. "Sir" is used for anyone of higher ranking, or someone you respect. To be technical, there is nothing wrong with addressing a female officer/higher-up with "sir". It is still quite correct. If anything, wouldn't saying women should be address via "ma'am" be against the idea of equality? That viewpoint of you should see a "soldier" and not a "man" or a "woman" when you address someone in the military. Something like that.
  2. Not sure if Succubus is the right word. After all, that would mean she's draining your life energy via intercourse... not just stealing your body via a ritual... Still... friends make things all the better right? Here, have a <OBJECT HAS NO NAME>
  3. The whole idea of the gift system is silly anyway. It largely just exists for dark side players who want to be an evil, ruthless monster - but still want to get that romance option with that cute light-side girl over there. It worked alright in DA, yeah, because there was a finite supply. But in an MMO, where the supply is infinite? It's basically just saying that companion can love you because you can keep throwing gifts at him/her, as you commit horrible acts of unspeakable evil on people right after - then give him/her gifts again to make them love you again. (Of course the reverse applies. Being light side, wanting a dark side lover etc. etc., but the generalization is that it probably only exists for a dark side player who wants to get that light-side companion)
  4. I think space bar is your only option. As I recall the "Skip movies" or whatever, only skips cinematic cutscenes. It doesn't skip dialogue sequences.
  5. Or WoW at launch. Or STO at launch. Or Warhammer at launch. You see where I'm going with this.
  6. I don't know where people pull this "$500 million" development cost from. Dang, I went to look up the cost on Wikipedia and forgot about the blackout... but the number is more about 2 or 3, not 5. Expensive still, but not as outrageously high as people keep claiming.
  7. Speaking of the security key, I thought of getting it on my Android tablet... but I can't seem to figure out how to link the tablet to whatever account you need to download things off the Android marketplace...
  8. The lower comm array of the outposts is ray-shielded. It's impervious to blaster fire. I think a forum-goer said it takes approximately 20... 30? Missiles to blow it up. Just spam missiles at it everytime it's in missile range. Don't waste your time shooting it with your blasters.
  9. Maybe you shouldn't be riding a vehicle indoors. Or trying to take said vehicle over a chasm.
  10. You seem to imply that somehow not abusing a speeder is masochism, or causes pain to someone. Do you seriously think that somehow not using a speeder is "painful"? Is your time so precious that you need to get to that place 5 seconds faster?
  11. The slave girl outfit requires Social Rank II, not Light II. You silly poster you.
  12. I think that's false if I recall. The "canon" story of TFU is indeed canon. It shapes up how the Rebellion got its symbol and all that. What ISN'T canon is the DLC content of TFU, where you do crazy things like kill Luke. Or kill Han and Chewie. That's in the game purely as a "what-if" scenario.
  13. It might be rude, but it's true. We used to take boats that took 15 minutes to get to the next area. Did we cry out that the game was "slow" or anything else? No. Because it was perfectly acceptable and reasonable. Nowadays in an MMO, if it takes even a minute to get somewhere, gamers whine and complain about how "slow" things are and how "big" everything is. Then, ironically, they whine about game worlds that feel small, they want them to be huge! But they want to get from point A to point B almost instantaneously, which sort of defeats a purpose to having a huge world.
  14. I think, as far as I can tell from the in-game wording, BioWare's stance on "RP" servers is pretty much: "We made this for RPing. But we're not enforcing any special rules on it."
  15. The problem is a vast majority of this generation of MMO gamers are really darn lazy. They want to be able to mount up everywhere, because getting to their destination in 10 seconds, is better then the 15 it'd take to run there with Sprint.
  16. Bioware apologizes. They weren't aware that players enjoy having to fight over quest mobs, or see areas packed with a silly amount of mobs to compensate. Or it's fun to have someone wait for you to fight the mobs guarding a quest node, so they can run up to the node and take it from under your nose.
  17. Maybe you don't want to know who the Tusken Raiders killed to get those cloaking devices... Or maybe it's Sand People Magic. MAAAAAGIC.
  18. It applies to NPC mobs. At least players say on the higher level ones, they've been able to actually take some whacks from NPCs and keep going. You silly, girly men running from fights.
  19. The game actually already has #1. I've heard NPCs discuss things when I've walked by. You can cause them to say it by right-clicking some of them as well. I can't comment on #5, as I'm level 36, unlocked Legacy and haven't even bought speeder training as I consider it a luxury. You get around fast enough using Sprint in this game, and the world's aren't so large that it takes that long to get around. Out of order, but #4 doesn't sound like a bad idea really. But I wouldn't consider it a very high priority thing, it's handy and all that, but not required.
  20. BioWare has a pretty good reason on why to not allow you to run the game at the highest settings. I don't know why people obsess over graphics so much - gameplay is a lot more important, and heck, even on Low, ToR looks leaps and bounds better then WoW does. For #1, I disagree. The game needs a credit sink, if you find ways to remove it, you end up with the economy eventually tumbling into insanity as the max level players amass wealth until credits are just pointless. #5 probably stems from all the Huttball, right? You know, the reason why you get Huttball is because there's probably about 8 Empire players to every 1 Republic right? And Huttball is the only WZ that can do same faction combat - so as a result, it pops up a lot. To make the other ones really appear more, you'll have to hope more people play Republic.
  21. They can. They use your alignment to see what they can equip.
  22. Wait, what? How are they forcing anything? Some people just like a color. The color crystals are all of same stats, if they're the same rarity, rank, and type of course.
  23. I argue killing matters in Alderran, just not to as large an extent as Voidstar. I've seen games where we struggled to get to the data core in the whole round. Side flip. They just steamroll us in about two minutes because they can just hold and crush everyone in their path and easily win. Also how the heck does a freaking computer download all its data in a millisecond!? Thats always bugged be about that style of PvP map. Once your final "wall" is down, it's all over. The other team just has to CLICK something and instantly win.
  24. You mean watch as people complain that the PvP ques take too long.
  25. It's called sharding. Instancing is the thing where the game world changes, locking people out of things and so and so forth.
