  1. Have they said when they will upload the videos? Some of us can't watch them at work, and would love to be able to watch them....
  2. so can you turn it off??? I watch my buff bars enough, I know when I get a TA, don't need a laugh to tell me
  3. yea that happens to me. I thought it was a bug though. Never exploited it on purpose, never thought to. Doki, fighting, and whining, and attacking your fellow healers isn't the way we work. Clear, concise, focused discussion got us the LONGEST response YET from the Dev Q&A. Improvements are on the way. UNTIL 1.2 hits the PTR, we don't know what they are. We don't know if they have taken all of this healing communities ideas and thrown them down the shaft, of if they are using them. We don't know what form the improvements are going to be in. We don't know if they are going to be huge, or small. BUT AT LEAST the Devs are willing to tell us they are going to improve BOTH Commando/Mercenary and Operative/Scoundrel. Like someone said, druids had to wait 6 content patches to get looked at. Still a win in my book. And If I had un-subbed (which I didn't) I would give TOR until 1.2 hit the PTR before I canceled for good. 1.2 on the PTR will show us very quickly how the Devs feel about the state of healing. If there are major changes, they are listening to us, and feeling our pain. If there are minor changes.... I've played through more nerfs than I can shake a stick at, and this is the first Dev response that I was glad to read. This is the first time I thought a Dev was listening to what a community had to say.
  4. you're focusing on the wrong parts. He also said "That said, we certainly think there’s room for improvements (and our upcoming Game Update 1.2 has a sizeable chunk of such improvements)." We don't know what those improvements are, and won't know until 1.2 hits the PTR. And as far as that being a Sorc nerf....don't cry nerf until we know what the new "Force Bending" is going to be. As it is a talent, they will have to be careful about how they change it, or everyone can/will drop it. It IS kinda overpowered when you can keep it rolling just by wasting some Force to renew it, when you don't need to. For all we know, they will simply add a lockout timer to it. Which will NOT change the intended and/or regular use of it. Only those who abuse it will be affected with a lockout timer. I'm kinda excited about what he said, and I see it all as positive. He basically said that Sorcs are fine, and a good baseline for healers. He said improvements to both Commando/Mercenary and Operative/Scoundrel are in the works for 1.2. I'm putting this down as a WIN for healers.
  5. Some of us Sorc would like to re-roll into something else. Some of us picked it as our first class, and got into it and realized they would rather shoot people, than have a stat stick. However those of us who have our reasons for wanting to re-roll out of Sorc, also have our reasons for not re-rolling. and YES. We honestly hope that BioWare will BUFF the other 2 healer classes up to the level (with respect to the healing styles) of the Sorc. If we didn't, then why would we have such a huge compilation of fixes/requests?
  6. before you ask for a nerf to a class, please play that class and see its upsides and downsides. Also consider, asking for a healing nerf, is going to make less people play said healers, which means there are going to be fewer healers. On a given night, what are most people asking for in general on your server? dps, heals, or tanks? If its dps, what server do you play on? because when/if they do nerf Sorc/Sages, I'm re-rolling to your server so I can dps. If, like most servers, its healers, you really want to have less people playing healers? Think things through before you spout off. You'll have a better, easier life. Both in game and in real life.
  7. Its easier for a Sorc to be resource neutral, as they have 500-650 Force to play with. Yea, their heals cost a ton of Force per heal, but the static regen rate, coupled with (when played right) 8% of their total force every 9 seconds (for free btw) means I can stay above 70% of my total force, EVEN healing the stupid DPS who doesn't know to avoid the red circle on the floor. And since I do have such a huge pool of resource, and with the 8F/S, even in periods of huge burst healing, I don't drain fast, and I can recover easier, even without the 'ohh ****' button. I'm waiting to see if the Devs are going to address this in today's questions, and if they don't...I guess I'm rolling a Merc healer....I've been in enough nerfs to know when to feel that hammer starting to swing. I feel it swinging on Sorcs.
  8. the simple thing is, a fix is not needed....we just need to be able to turn off auto self cast. I healed in WoW from 2004 to 3 months after Cata. I got waaaaaayyyyyyy use to activating a heal, then hitting the appropriate F key (F2, F3, etc) for the party member I wanted to heal. I could watch the bosses health by having it always targeted, and I main healed the MT throughout the content this way. I'm not asking for addons, or anything like that. I don't want EZ mode healing, because then anyone thinks they can heal. I just want to be able to turn off auto self cast.
  9. I second your confidence. When my guildy told me he was planning on healing with a BH I was all like 'they can heal? how??'
  10. agreed. S/He (again, sorry!) is just the messenger. I know Trineda is probably reporting back to their superiors about all the posts in all the threads that we have done today. For her/his help, I thank you. No reason to shoot the messenger! If we do, we certainly won't get anything fixed!
  11. a lot of us lurk in the shadows, just reading. I just couldn't hold back anymore. But we are here, and their are a ton of people who are just reading, and agreeing. I want to play my Operative again. I want to play with Energy again. But if you had the choice between a 50 Sorc and a 50 Operative....who would you choose right now? If the new playable species is so cool you just have to re-roll an alt, what are you going to re-roll? I've already told my group that as much as I hate to go through the story again, I'll be re-rolling a Sorc (I'll go lightside, just so the story is somewhat different). I want to tell them I'm re-rolling an Operative. You want all 3 ACs at 50? I started out wanting the same thing, just because that's how much I love healing. I am a healer. I've dps'd (rogue, fury warrior, DK, feral & balance druid, enh shaman). I've tanked (feral druid, DK, prot warrior, prot Paladin). But I'm never as happy unless I'm healing. So yea, I'm with you. I would love to have all 3 ACs at 50, and geared, so depending on my mood, I could have access to 3 different healing styles. But why waste my time, and my group's time leveling, and gearing up the Op, when I know I'll only be bringing the Sorc. If the Devs FIX Ops and Mercs to be as good as Sorcs, IN DIFFERENT WAYS (that is key, again, no one wants a Sorc copy), then it wouldn't be wasting time. It would be fun. I don't think healers need a 'niche'. They need a style of healing. A druid could main heal the MT just fine. So could a paladin, or a priest. Each could also keep the raid alive. JUST in different ways.
  12. agreed 100%. I loved swiftmend, and it was a must have talent. (see what I did there...I remember swiftmend when it was a talent....)
  13. I regularly read your posts, and Bobudo's posts. If I see y'all responded to something, I try to read it. You guys, for your respective classes, have brought more to the table in terms of ideas....Y'all are always polite, always trying to avoid the trolls and flamewars, and have made it very clear that you are not asking for a nerf to Sorc/Sages, but buff the other 4 ACs to a equivalent level. A well played healer should be just as good as another well played healer. If its a Sorc Vs. Merc, or Merc Vs. Op (or the equivalent Republic ACs). In WoW (excluding shaman, which I never played) it didn't matter if I brought my Druid, Priest, or Paladin to a raid. They were all geared, and I could do anything on any of them, just in different ways. That is what we're asking for. No one wants their Op or Merc to be a Sorc copy (which is why I kinda don't like the idea of making the Op personal shield targetable). But just like in DPS and Tank classes there are different mindsets and playstyles (ranged dps Vs. melee dps, or absorption tanking Vs. avoidance tanking...or in TOR, ranged tank Vs. Melee tank) Healers have different playstyles and mindsets. Sure some of us can go between the playstyles and go between them well, but some of us like OUR healing style, and we don't want to give up the class that SHOULD give us that style. Some of us like HoT healing. Some of us like absorption healing. Some of us like big, slow heals. Some of us like fast, small heals. Some of us like......I don't have to go on do I?
  14. I would quote myself, but I dunno if that would get me in trouble. and you really made my day Bobudo.
  15. This coming from a 50 Sorc who PvPs and PvE (after I gave up on my Op, and I haven't even started a BH yet). Some of us Sorcs DO CARE about the Op/Scound and Merc/Commando problems. Some of us would much rather play with a different resource system. Some of us would love to have the ability to wear medium or even heavy armor. Some of us played druids and paladins and priests, and love OTHER healing styles besides bubble+heal. My Sorc is my first character, because I thought (and I hoped) I would be able to play it more like a WoW shadow priest. (my favorite class by far in WoW). But my first character was a rogue, and my second was a druid. Guess what system each of those classes use (or can use) ENERGY. Guess how much they have...100. Guess what type of healing a druid did. HoTs. I would love a HoT class that was actually viable. It was my favorite healing style. (besides Spriest heals) I want to play an Operative. But why should I at this point, when I know its better for my group for me to play the best healer. There is a trinity, TANK, HEALER, DPS. Guess which 2 most people don't play, TANK and HEALER. Why? because they are responsible for everything. Boss aggros on DPS. DPS blame tank for not gen'ing enough threat. Tank Dies, everyone blames healer. DPS dies, everyone blames healer. Last night, I was looking for 1 dps to fill out a HM FP group. I got 15 whispers in seconds. Literally, I should have taken a screen shot. But there were 5 groups looking for a tank or healer. No one plays healers. PvP is jilted away from healing. I would get more valor and more medals if I switched to a dps spec, BUT I DON'T FOR THE GOOD OF THE TEAM. Healers care more about the team than the player. DPS cares more about the player than the team. DEVELOPERS. You are chasing away the more important leg of your trinity party makeup. If you have no healers, you have nothing. a DPS could tank (see-Kiting. See-overhealing. See-tank trading. See-absorption. See-etc). Healers and tanks can dps. But no one can heal like a healer. every 90 seconds you can pop a medpack for (rakata) 5k damage? Woohoo. Try healing a HM FP where the boss is hitting for 5k every 3 seconds. Operatives and Scoundrels and Commandos and Mercenaries may be the lowest played classes (heal spec....only talking heal spec) but losing those players is bad. Losing those players to Sorcs is bad. Losing any healer is bad, because that is 1 more group not doing content. Devs want to create content, but if you create it, and no one is running it because all your healers are playing dps or tanks or worse, not at all, what good is that content? I've been on game forums since 2004 when WoW came out, and I've never seen a community come together like this one has. I haven't read every single thread, nor have I read all the posts, but from what I have read, we are unified. If one of our main speakers asked for us to not heal for a day, or a week, I would be willing to be 75+% of healers that read the forums, and know of these issues, would follow their request. We are united. We are polite. We are asking that you, the Developers, fix the issues healers are facing. Sorc healers. Sage healers. Operative healers. Commando Healers. Scoundrel healers. Mercenary healers. We all have issues. Some more than others. Fix them. Let us know you are fixing them. Do not continue in silence, for you are losing us, and we are the most important, most under played leg of the trinity.
