  1. Ooooh story. Great writing (love the pov). More snippets like this, please About "Master Fith" btw:
  2. Voss. I was on my second merc, doing the bonus series rather underleveled for it but hey, I had Treek with me, it seemed almost too easy for once. There was one mob left to take out (this was on that Gormak-infested island), and instead of running all the way back around on the island itself I had a brilliant idea: speed over the water to the other side where he was standing out on one of those little piers. I attacked from below. He ran away. Treek ran away. I realized what I'd done- facepalm moment- and put Treek on passive. She jogged back through the water dragging a massive pack of Gormak weaks and silvers behind her. Got obliterated, of course, but I was laughing so hard it made my idiocy worth it
  3. I was on my 'slinger trying to complete the Voss bonus series yesterday and ran into one of your members in the vorantikus training grounds. He/she didn't have to help me out for various reasons (far above my level, opposite faction etc) but did anyway. I wish I could remember his/her name...at the time I was too frantic to get out of there to do more than /say a couple words of thanks So...thanks again, anonymous-to-me Grievance member- you made me decide to finally contact an officer in-game and discuss getting one of my 55s (op healer) into a living guild again
  4. Been waiting for the game to install on my desktop (had to wipe OS reinstall etc etc last night) so rather than endure the hassles of playing on my laptop I played with GIMP today instead: My newest scoundrel One of my mercs And one only mildly GIMP-enhanced (smoothed out jagged pixels): Smugs get the best ship decor (spoiler for smuggler class story)...
  5. Tried with a guildmate a couple hours ago. I couldn't click. He couldn't click. Asked a non-grouped player standing around nearby and guess what- also couldn't click the jukebox. That non-grouped player switched instances and tried again aaannnnd....couldn't click and whispered to me that nobody could do the mission (Shadowlands). Tried various things, btw, such as leaving the cantina, reacquiring mission: nada. No clicky, no Arkan. Filed a ticket. Hotfix would be nice before this go-round of Bounty Week is over...
  6. 53 Sage, was able to complete a henchman bounty on Ord Mantell a little while ago because the mission was still in the log from the first week of the event. It seems the restriction is in place for the acquisition of new Hutta/Ord contracts by higher level characters but leftovers are doable one final time.
  7. I have four "end -gamish" 55 healers and four others ranging from levels 40-53, and nothing, I mean nothing annoys me so much as sents/maras who go leap-crazy. So you "live just fine". So you "maybe need 1 heal". That's good, because I don't even have a three strikes rule- after the second jump I stop healing you. Period. For the rest of the fp/op (or until you get kicked). That's post-50, though. I'm far more lenient with lower level leapers...sometimes they even get four or five strikes OP: excellent post, a nice resource for those who're new to tanking (and dps and heals, too)
  8. That one fight pretty much makes the whole event worth it for me. A little while ago I helped a few people with heals first (scoundrel, put Corso on passive in case folks wanted to capture) then grabbed a 'slinger guildie and clicked that jukebox myself...good times I hit rep cap fast what with 11 characters out there hunting. Doesn't bother me that one of my operatives will have to wait a few more days (reset) for his new hat...
  9. You have no idea how many times a day I hear that about something or other I have or haven't done. I'm considering changing my middle name to "Inefficient", "Ineffi" for short- hey, I think I just found a name for my next alt, too Your strategy is definitely worth a try, thanks for that
  10. Problem was- with that single exception- I couldn't feed the damned things even after they'd "reset", even after switching instances. I also didn't commit Dulfy's maps to memory so there was a lot of alt-tabbing...plus travel time...plus a few afks of about 5 minutes per just to break the tedium...it adds up LOL:D There was no factional issue. I'm on a PvE server. I didn't see any aoe grief flagging at the nests, everyone was surprisingly civil...unlike in the CZ daily area... I'll probably give the Clabburn-Aurek route another go later today on a few alts before parking them. Farm the data or run dailies for the credits- whichever happens first, happens. For the time being that's one less tauntaun stinking up the fleet. Thanks for the advice though
  11. Add me to the bad luck list. 30+ lures, about 2 hours, 1 data acquired. Yes, I switched instances as much as I could, and yes, I encountered the 'dead nest' (already fed etc etc) issue. From now on I'm delegating nest duty to various alts, parking them on Hoth, checking back every so often while I run dailies elsewhere. On the upside: my 450 bio gatherer may have had dismal luck snagging data but all the level 55 wampa carcasses made those nest areas amazingly lucrative
  12. The seeker droid nonsense implemented in the last patch. Oh, and Torian's obsession with toast.
  13. It's there, flew through there (the tunnel/cave) a few times yesterday and noticed it was back.
  14. I go with keeping the level 40, maybe watching some vids of the class story up to the point you're at in order to refresh your memory about that (if you need to), and 'relearn' your abilities by soloing lower heroics and flashpoints. A nice side benefit of this is getting various achievements easily. Another route would be to keep the 40, roll a JC and go with shadow as advanced class. This worked for me in a slightly different manner- had a merc at 40 for more than a year, rolled a trooper (--->commando) at some point, same spec as the merc; I basically 'relearned' my merc that way, picked her back up and now am at 55 about to finish Makeb. Whatever you do, welcome back, good luck and have fun Always late posting before coffee- cheers for you keeping the character
  15. I predict the price of covert armor on the gtn will go through the roof. Not sure if my ops would feel comfortable compromising Vector's dignity in such a manner- oh who am I kidding... So will this "cure" apply to Scourge as well? One can hope
  16. In your opinion My sage is wearing the chestpiece along with the Consular's Headgear which removes the hood. The result is a very plain, sleek and simple robe. Dyes can make it look pretty amazing, as well (IMVVHO) Opinion shared, there. None of my Imps want this in their wardrobes. Since I'm happy with it on my sage, my only gripe arises from one of my sentinels. And she's a contentious minx anyway
  17. So this was intentional? I'll take a trip back to Korriban later today, though, and have a look at the rival acolytes. If it's just a matter of a recolor then *shrug* I'll rescind my own plea for a 'fix' if the dreadful map for this particular bit of texture was already extant
  18. Yep, it's called "That's Just Wrong!" or something like that. One of my operatives has it completed- grouped up with a guildmate, went to a certain heroic area full of jawas and droids, guildie killed while I kept the party jawa going in between throwing grenades, got the achievement in no time (note we're both 55 so nothing was required besides keeping the party jawa up and mowing down not-so-festive jawas). I believe this one is only doable Imp side due to a lack of hostile jawas on Pub Tatooine...
  19. CZ-198 Research Contributor Application 1. Please tell us a little about yourself. Why do you want to be a part of the Czerka family? My middle name is 'discretion'. Remember that little incident on Tatooine? I don't either, if you're paying enough. 2. At Czerka, we pride ourselves on our accomplishments. Please name three of your accomplishments that you are most proud of. (Please do not include family milestones such as marriages or the birth of your children.) I once smuggled a head in a jar to a discerning client. Not only did it reach its destination in record time but I also never ever once considered playing kickball with it. I made the Big Boom Run on Ord Mantell and still have all my limbs and most of my sanity intact. I pitched in on Makeb, saved countless lives, earned the honorary title of 'Guardian of Makeb', and didn't completely ransack Pollus Avesta's office for valuables before skipping planet. 3. How did you go about achieving the accomplishments above. Would you say you would do "whatever it takes" for success? My wits. Always wits. It's just coincidence that my co-pilot calls my blaster "Wits". Credits, success, call it whatever you want...but if you call it 'credits' then I'll take whatever you want. 4. Would you say you have a strong moral compass? Do you think this could get in the way of your job, should you be asked to do something...questionable? I'm all about navigational flexibility. That has nothing to do with my ship, by the way. Er...you'd let me keep my ship, right? 5. You are about to enjoy our wide variety of complimentary cocktails and snacks, when you notice that your esteemed colleague's newest experiment is likely to break out of their confines while you are gone. How would you handle this situation? Enough Reactor Cores and I didn't see a thing. Enough credits and I didn't hear a thing, either. As long as I can keep my Wits about me the situation is under control. Trust me. I didn't do it!
  20. It's a bug introduced with the last patch and is on the list of known issues: "Several NPCs throughout the galaxy have literally lost their heads and appear to have floating eyes." There are more than "several" with this affliction. I find it pretty funny, myself
  21. I haven't seen it there either but now by mere power of suggestion alone we'll be plagued, you know how contagious that kind of thing is Note to self: next time able to play double-check chat prefs to be sure GC is off everywhere...
  22. Nitpick away it's been a while since I've read the novels, I stand corrected (the series, watched the first couple seasons, saw 0% of the last, haven't really missed it...but I do recall him being referred to as "Hodor" pretty much across the board, cast listings included).
  23. Consider yourself lucky, OP. The server on which my primary legacy resides? GC still hasn't moved past jawas on the starter planets and fleet...jawas and things far more crass and revolting than Hodoring... /ignore is your friend It's a Game of Thrones thing, a reference to a certain character who says one word: "Hodor" (also his name).
  24. I fully support the idea of PVE and PVP reps. I also fully support not nominating anyone (nor members of their particular RWZ team/s) in this thread who's used the words "pve kids", "pve noobs, "pve nubs" and any variation thereon. You (general 'you') don't make a very convincing case when you repeatedly insult what's likely the majority of the playerbase. The Class Rep forum spaces aren't shiny new venues for yet more 'L2P' rubbish...or so I hope, cross fingers...
  25. So...can I smack my pet Isotope-5 droid around? If so my merc wants one badly. Otherwise, that hooded acolyte-type robe looks nice- if it isn't indeed purple as my screen shows it. Three words: dailies. not buying these packs from CM. gtn. Oops. Lots of words
