  1. Yea, he also says "t7 = Jedi Trained, needs light saber attachment" and a plethora of other comments throughout the game. Mostly him saying that "T7 + Jedi = <insert some random comment>"
  2. That's total bull and you know it. Having the forums available is a plus, it shouldn't need to be necessary to get this kind of information. Early in the class quest line, once you get your dark companion, he should tell you THEN that you will need to face the emperor alone and with someone that isn't easily swayed by the force. Players shouldn't have to read a bloody forum post to find this out. It's a game, and to have to break out of the game world to find information on the quest line tosses up spoilers. Some people actually prefer to stay in the game world and enjoy the content as it was designed. Game breaking surprises should never enter the mix.
  3. So, you have no idea what is actually taking place when you land your ship on most planets? You go to galactic map, pick a planet, hyper jump there and land. You exit your ship, walk some, take an elevator and hop on a shuttle You land, go meet your contact on the planet. Guess what, you just went through a orbital station. Most planets have them.
  4. I take it that you don't think 3 years in development is sufficient to do some research and find out what players dislike about the other "polished" systems and learn from those mistakes in your product? It's all about profit and what they can get away with and still make money. Players will buy it, because it's Star Wars, it must be cool. The lack of forethought and planning is painfully evident to anyone who knows the genre and cannon of Star Wars. BW wants to make money, they need a cash cow like Blizzard has with Wow. Yet they want to cut corners and come up with a Single Player, revamped Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, with a Star Fox minigame and add on a multi player element and pass it off as something new and unique.
  5. Stop trying to be a computer tech when you don't understand what works with what. A loading screen is a static screen. Your video card has little to nothing to do with the loading screen problems. The only item being rendered is the progress bar and the loading icon in the lower right corner.
  6. Some may be hardware, some may not. Even a player is on a min req system hardware, good network latency to the server, if their equipment isn't getting overloaded and is steady at 30 - 40% utilization across the board and load times are still low, then it's something else. It would be an entirely different story if the end users resources were pegged out. Most of the problems that people are reporting are on systems above min req. If your equipment is idle, it's not an end user issue. It doesn't take a systems engineer degree to realize that the client, if not max'd out, is waiting for information from the server. The clients aren't getting the data that they need to display, ergo, long load times.
  7. Not when your server ping time is less than 100ms, your cpu, memory and disk I/O are less than 30%. If it's none of that, then it's usually the client waiting on data from the server. If they can't keep up, it causes what we're seeing. Especially on high population servers where it's happening a lot. It's pure lack of forethought on the part of the design. And, much like BLizzard, CCP and Cryptic found out, BW will also find out, the hard way as they apparently did little research on much of this game, it may not get resolved until their income starts to be impacted.
  8. Speeders are that slow. Take a look at the speeders taking off in the movies any time that you feel like it and you'll see that they're much faster than 90%, 100% an 110% of run speed. Also, at least on WoW, you can explore almost every inch of the land mass that you're in, and a lot of the shore line, before you get fatigued. I, like a lot of other players, would like the game to be successful, but also, like a lot of the older players that like to have some sort of immersion in the game, find that transitions are way to long. It's as if they're loading the entire planet at once, when you only really need to load what's in your field of vision. Especially when coming into a space port. Other than Republic Fleet, you can't mount in many of them. Disable mounting in all of them planetside and their uplink stations, and you can load transitions faster because you could load the next section in the background while you're on foot.
  9. I've seen this issue on quite a few planets. Win 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, 4GB Ram Intel E2200 2.20Ghz Core 2 DUI (OC'd to 3.0Ghz) ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB Ram At first, I thought that my system was getting taxed during load times but it's at a constant 28% utilization during the loading screens.
  10. I'll manage, I've just decided to skip it until a later time. Still, I agree with you on the challenge part, but there's a slight difference in a challenge and a straight out beat down
  11. Please stop falling back on "It was only released ... ago". It's not like there's not been other MMO's available to study since early 2000's. These are issues that have plagued all other MMO's that offer PVP. Google them and take a look. If Wow had these same issues early on in their PVP system 8 years ago, would it hurt to actually take a few moments and study up on it? Cryptic didn't either and they're learning their lesson with Star Trek Online. It goes F2P Jan 12 because they're hoping that they'll get their revenue back into swing due to the lost subscriptions because they didn't pay attention to the gaming community issues either.
  12. I'm happy for them if they can beat it easily. I've tried various different methods for the last couple of days and I'm stuck on it. It's ticked me off to the point that it's almost ruined the game for me actually. I've been playing MMO's for quite a long time now, tanks, casters and melee classes alike. To come into a non flash point event against something that can take you down in 4 hits is a bit much for a solo quest. Something needs to be done, either tone down their dps or drop their health a fraction or two. As I recall, they're sitting over 15k and you have to take down three of them to finish the quest.
  13. The problem is, that when you're on a planet, you should be able to travel with your own speeder, or walk, to any location you have a mission in. On Tatooine, you can't do that. You have to take a taxi from location to location. On Taris, I could travel between quest hubs on my own but not here. Oh, and on Tatooine, when you're trying to get to Jundland from Anchorhead, you get exhausted trying to get there on your own right outside of Anchorhead and Jundland is only 6 hex's away.
