  1. Interestingly, I haven't seen anybody say Mako yet! On my fem. Bounty Hunter I got a compliment on how well I wore my armor - and several other little things that make me feel as if Mako sees you as more than just a pal or more than just an idol. I was so sad to discover a lack of SGR - it would've worked!
  2. Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Honest, they were boasting their little hearts out that a NEW and EXCITING event would happen in SWTOR and this is what we got - a mess of an 'event' that, in its current state, shows that they have learned NOTHING from the previous event. Catering to only 3 Classes in the game, BoP Adaptive gear (sigh. Could've been Legacy, like we wanted with the Containment Officer set) that looks very out of place - as a friend of mine stated "It gives us something to do, but not something we want to do." and I agree. No crystals, no pistols, no vibroswords or techstaves. Poor. PS. To the people yapping that that Legacy stuff will help you transfer barrels to alts; big deal. It's clearly not intended and if it is, that shouldn't be the main reason to get one of those bloody things. Remove head from rectum immediately.
  3. Does your Quest Log by any chance say: "Balmorra: Bonus Series"? A lot of planets have a secondary questline that you can complete for Exp, etc. :-) It's intended.
  4. I haven't been on any of the SWTOR test servers, but I'm guessing it's along the lines of "HEY LOOK GUYS FREE STUFF WHO WANTS TO PVP XD" - ignoring the fact that they should be trying to break the game or find what's broken. Testing should happen so the crap that happened with Denova last week can actually be prevented.
  5. This Q&A actually managed to confuse me, instead of answering questions. Does this mean Subscribers will have to buy Cartel Coins after they gain them for being subscribed pre-F2P - or will Subscribers gain a small amount each month because they're actually subscribed? To me, the latter seems the most fair but your answer makes me believe either side will have to buy them anyway. :I
  6. Scoundrel/Operative -- an equivalent of Force Speed. I mean, seriously, Assasins/Shadow get Stealth and nearly all of the goodies that come with it and they get a quicker way to close the gap between them an an opponent that isn't just holding W.
  7. Oh, hooray. That means people might get stuck with a completely unlikable character specifically designed to be your same-gender romancing buddy. This means that all the work I put into being the best possible Bounty Hunter and doing everything right for Mako - was basically just me getting stuck in the same-gender-Friend Zone. That's ****. I love you, Mako! Edit: All I really want from BW here, is to make the characters believable. During your Class Story, you'll only get to [Flirt] with the opposite gender and if they aren't fixing that I just want to have a completely valid reason as to why exactly I should fall for the new character they're introducing without making them obviously stereotypical. I swear, if my Smuggler or BH runs into a butch female mechanic with a love for speeders and bad behaviour, there'll be hell to pay.
  8. Scoundrel Main, here - Risha is a boring tart. In all due honesty, I enjoyed her little storyline; but if you happen to actually read the Codex, a lot of it is spoiled before the main events actually happen. :| In short, Risha leans very slightly to Dark considering she loves herself and loves Credits and warms up to you very slowly. As for Jaesa, I can't really speak - but she's interesting due to her being able to be either a complete Light or complete Dark character. From the forumites I hear that if you choose to make her Dark, she leaps headfirst into being completely Dark Side and comes across as an absolute maniac, becoming the complete opposite of the emotionless walls that Jedi seem to try and be.
  9. "Oh!" said the Developers "But we can't have Scoundrels giggling like schoolgirls all the time! That's something only Vanguards should do!" And then they removed the Scoundrel Giggle. The End.
  10. As far as I can understand, there's two sorts of damage - 'Normal' Damage (which will show up in Fly Text as white numbers) and Tech Damage (it'll show up in the Fly Text as yellow numbers). This is also why you have two separate screens in your character sheet telling you about your Accuracy and Crit for both types. If I boldly assume from my experience in That One Big MMO, then Yellow Damage needs only 100% Accuracy because it doesn't get dodged, parried or defended, but White Damage does. Long story short, Gunslingers have a number of attacks that do Ranged Damage, so it's wise to get your Ranged Accuracy up to 100% or over to make absolutely sure you do damage; by the time you manage that, Tech Accuracy will be well over 100% as well.
  11. That's amazing! Now I can think of NOT spending my credits, sooner!
  12. I never liked Body Type 4, but hey this is looking pretty sweet.
  13. Smooth Criminal sounds like an excellent title to counter Butcher's Bane.
  14. What happens if I decide to change from being a subscription player to a Free-to-Play member? What will happen to my credits, inventory, bank items, and characters? Your account will automatically be downgraded and it will operate under the Free player restrictions. You will need to choose what items to keep with you within the restriction levels of the free access. Furthermore, you will be able to see, but not use, your excess credits, inventory slots, bank tabs, and extra characters.
  15. I'm staying in until I know what the F2P model really restricts. (Is it just the new race(s), or will people lose the ability to roll Mirialan/Chiss or worse?) -- afterwards I'll either keep being subbed, or unsub and stay F2P. If, of course, nothing pops up that enrages me to the point of leaving.
  16. You mean the Miraluka race that's born without any eyes whatsoever and uses The Force to see? I'm pretty sure a helmet won't hamper them one bit. Thing is right, I used to be able to wear helmets and hoods on my Miraluka but they changed it shortly after they decided the art team was too lazy to make new helmets for Twi'lek. |: It ticks me off since now I can only wear circlets.
  17. Alright, I'll bite. A lot of people have already and I'm likely to repeat their points but here we go. How long ago was this? Back then, there were (almost?) no MMORPG's and they had no idea how to manage it. Blizzard has learned over the years how to keep their players somewhat pleased. Given the expansions and all of the other MMO's that came out between Vanilla WoW and SW:TOR, Bioware should have gotten a pretty big hint on how to make an interesting game with replay value. Comparing vanilla WoW to current-day SW:TOR is like comparing the very first printing press to a modern-day printer. Honest, I have no incentive to roll another character on either side - as I have a 50th level character on either side already. I've seen it all. Nothing will change. I can't go anywhere else. At least in WoW there were different zones you could go to depending on level (I remember choosing Winterspring over Western Plaguelands. So glad I did.) TL;DR - Bioware had a pretty big pallet to work from. A large array of MMO's that show them how to (and how not to) build a game. I can easily forgive them for bugs that appear, as no system is without flaw --but they should've known that linear progression followed by "HM/Raid and/or PVP...that's all." at level 50 would get boring quickly. Clue not gotten. Makes me sadface.
  18. I don't know what I like best about the Black Hole; waiting for boxes to respawn, or for Drell to respawn.
  19. "Oh, a Heroic 4. Guess what I'm not doing." Unless there are people in the area asking for a group, which does not happen often, I tend to skip any Heroic 4 I see. Heroic 2's, I will scope out and see what sort of enemy groups get thrown at me while I do it - if remotely doable, I'll try and solo them. Else, I'll skip them until a group opportunity arises. ...I tend to solo my game unless someone coaxes me out of it.
  20. Vendor Trash. Filling up the Item Database, or maybe some are leftovers -- Elara Dorne (Trooper) used to be a Cunning based Healer even though her entire character would say otherwise. It does annoy me as well, though. There's not that many good Offhands to begin with if you aren't a Jedi/Sith and most of them aren't decent for your class. In my case... +Aim Scatterguns? Owch.
  21. I like the fact you answered the DNA question - but overall the Q&A this week is very, very meager. There's still some burning questions about mechanics, about things that have been asked countless of times and haven't been answered (I'd like to know when Miraluka and Twi'Lek will finally be able to wear hats decently. Do you have an art department that's working on that? Seriously, just because I have a veil over my eyes doesn't mean I can't wear a hat I'm ready to call you guys lazy and that must hurt). - Have you looked at Class Trees lately? Not Balancing per se, but there are some odd things in there - purely per example, Scoundrel Scrappers cannot effectively play with Dirty Fighting; it offers them to be in a 10m range, but their only ability for getting the Upper Hand is a Melee (4m) ability. - Some Class Abilities feel/seem 'weird' or even 'broken', any chance of a fix? o (Scoundrel) Freighter Fly-By puts them in combat immediately when casting, which eliminates the chance of it hitting anything. o (Scoundrel) Tranquilizer is the only Crowd Control that doesn't give a debuff to the target telling you about the duration - and makes a Scoundrel Sawbones' "Sedatives" feel completely broken. o (Consular) Why did you think changing the Consular's Project was a better idea than changing the Sorcerer equivalent spell to be 'slower' in animation? I liked flinging my big jar at things, now it's a "thing" and I can't see what happened. Very disappointing. o (Jedi Knight) Master Strike is still interruptable. - What's the most underused Class right now? Why do you think that is? Will you fix that somehow? - News on emote animations? Nothing works on a Mount despite what you claimed (I'd like to /flap, please), /sleep and /meditate need an animation and I wouldn't mind it if you made Class Legacy emotions last a lot longer. There's a lot of questions I thought up and I'm pretty sure others have similar or better formulated ones. Looking forward to 1.4 and the next Q&A, peeps.
  22. According to (sadly I can't find the proof) Devs - attacks, regardless of Class, are calculated at the same speed but the animations aren't. This means that while the Op seems to attack faster than the Scoundrel, the damage calculations and output should be at the seem speed. (this is also why, sometimes, you can't attack because your target is "dead" but hasn't died yet. Damage was already calculated but the animation didn't kick in yet.)
  23. Could you Tranq. a single mob, get out of aggro range and let Tranq. wear off? When Sedatives happens it puts you into combat (or used to) - it'd be one way to test, at least.
  24. This entire thing started over the 20% RE 'proc' chance. I'd like to see them both boosted a bit - my 10% chance to get a purple 'proc' is supposedly there, but hasn't shown in yonks. Bad luck haunts me, it seems.
  25. Oh hey, maybe Operatives and Scoundrels will get looked at in a different light other than "stunlocking" and "ruining fun". Good times. Outside of the bitterness, hope he and his family stay healthy and happy.
