  1. I'm enjoying it so far, myself. I was actually intending to take a break after getting all my alts to 55 or 60, but well, here I am.
  2. I previously did the SoR bundle back in May and decided to go ahead and try this. It worked fine, I was able to apply the code for the KOTFE amazon bundle. I did it for my wife too and we both got the sub time and the cartel coins. Our subs were already good until like January so now we're good until March
  3. Anyone else unable to unify colors on companions? I can click the button for the companion customization but it's blank.
  4. Oh thank god, here I was resigned to only getting one or two companions per alt done, but this is beautiful!
  5. When I found out about that I abandoned the idea of rushing the rest of my alts to 55. I got 1 of each class thanks to the 12xp, but I have several secondary alts I was going to speed run but now I can relax a little. I mean I despise some of the planets (mostly trying to navigate around) but I can deal.
  6. It was a reward for subscribing by X date. They aren't going to offer it separately, because not only was it a reward to keep people subbed, it's a reward that allows early access for an expansion that you have to be subbed to play. The OP is suggesting Bioware charge for accessing an expansion 7 days early, that they'll be getting free ANYWAY. Seven days is not worth paying 20+ for. Basically paying more than a whole month's subscription for 7 days. Again it was a reward. If someone was paying for a subscription and not actually playing just to get 7 days access, that's on them. Most people would have been playing during that time anyway, so the reward is exactly what it should be, a bonus. Honestly I won't even be bothering with early access myself. I subbed purely for the xp boost (well and also for the cosmetic rewards). I just finished my 9th character to 55 so I'll actually be taking a break from serious play, and even when I come back in a few weeks I won't even touch KOTFE because my 60 still hasn't done Ziost yet, so I want to do that first. Maybe. We'll see how I feel after patching is done tuesday, I may just speed through Ziost and then hit KOTFE on my 60 anyway. But honestly, early access has only ever mattered (imo) when a game is first launching and you have the Great Name Rush. I've never seen the big deal about expansion early access.
  7. The servers go down at 2:30am pacific time on the 20th according to the recent post. So I'm wondering if the boost will just go to the last minute or if it will turn off sooner.
  8. What about the main planetary storylines for the 1-50 planets?
  9. Anyone know? Like will it end at 12:01am on the 19th, or 11:59pm, or somewhere in between?
  10. Romances at least aren't a problem for me. I play all female characters and I don't like any of their romance options. But the multiple choices could be a problem, except I think they'll go with the most likely, or the human one.
  11. Damn it. Well with 12x xp maybe I can speed run her tonight and tomorrow. I actually have all 8 at 55 (almost, BH is almost at 55) but I wanted to use the boost to make a DS jedi without having to play it all over again, for RP reasons. I guess I'll use the boost with a different alt
  12. I've read somewhere that LS and DS choices will be locked in by class, instead of say, getting an option to select light or dark when you create the character. Is this true? I wanted to boost a jedi knight but make her dark side.
  13. I hope it's midnight, I'll get an hour to work on a character before bed! VPN would solve all security issues. I actually work from home, using a VPN tunnel and 2-factor authentication. I do over the phone tech support for an ISP. The only thing they gave me was the phone, I had to use one of my own computers! None of the software is actually installed on it, its all on a server and uses the VPN to make it look like its on the computer. Back during the beta of this game I remember they used to post from home sometimes. Or maybe that was another game. Either way, VPN or bust.
  14. I honestly never liked that changing appearance at the kioks used cartel coins. It's the only MMO I've ever played that didn't offer an in game credit option for appearance changes. And that includes multiple F2P games. At the very least subscribers should have a credit option. It's just greedy. It's not so bad since we get free cartel coins. It just means I can't change my hair every week like I do in other games. It is what it is and we just have to deal.
  15. Adding decoration hooks to my ships is something I've wanted since day one. Also in an MMO rooms and doors have to be scaled up slightly in order to not create serious camera issues. It's basically a gameplay concession.
  16. My wife and I are two of those former players. Alpha, beta and launch even. We come back every now and again, and the Star Wars hype is pumping through our blood after binge watching Rebels. Always been really happy to see the game do well, even when I wasn't in the mood to play, myself.
  17. I missed it last time, because I just wasn't interested in playing at the time. But I just got back in and it looks like my timing was perfect. I've already done most of the planet story missions on my main (finally just finished her class quest tonight actually), so I'll shed no tears on skipping most of the planet quests on my small army of alts.
  18. Thanks! My knight is at like level 24. I actually quit playing before the first expansion and my highest level is 47, but my knight was always one of the top 3 I wanted to level. I think I'll go defense, since that suits her the most anyway I can always respec!
  19. Or should I stick to one of the DPS Specs? I just generally prefer single-saber for this particular character but me and my wife are splitting our healer/tank combo into soloing most of the time, since our playtimes don't always mesh anymore. Its been awhile since I last played!
  20. Being able to purchase additional character slots is basically the make or break deal for me coming back. All I care about is finishing the 8 class stories I was in the middle of and occasionally doing pvp and space combat. I hope we get some information about this.
  21. As evidenced in this screenshot. I remember, dimly, having it in a very early build I played, but it was absent in later beta builds. Was it just too buggy? Because I miss ducking against a wall for cover.
  22. Believe me, I have my own issues with the game but nothing game breaking and certainly nothing that won't make me stop playing (mostly chargen related and a few other nitpicks). Then again, I've been playing MMOs too long. I know what to expect. (Bend over and wait for that ten foot pole ) The game is what they've been saying it would be for years. Its exactly what I expected, and exactly what I wanted. I'm sorry it wasn't the same for you. More importantly, what server are you on? I see players EVERYWHERE and lots of flashpoint groups running. I certainly don't feel alone or like its not an MMO. Its not like we all sit around in a lobby waiting to start some kind of dungeon run (Like PSO or Diablo or something). I'll never understand the 'this isn't an MMO' crowd. This game is an MMO. Thousands of players all on one server - check. Potential to interact and run into people at random anywhere in the game - check (I mean, I've run into people in the middle of nowhere. THAT is crucial to me enjoying an MMO. I may prefer to solo but I LOVE seeing other players around). Economic system - check. Hell, exploration has really opened up for me. My wife is going crazy trying to find datacrons, I've found all kinds of neat little nooks and crannies and off the paths on Tatooine. Its exactly like WoW or Rift in that respect. The game needs improvements. That 0.5sec delay issue, chargen, crashing issues etc. I'm sure there are others that bother other people more than me. I'm not saying its perfect, no game is without warts and flaws. But we have to keep in mind that it is what it is at its core. A story based MMO in the Bioware style set in the Star Wars universe. And thats never going to change.
  23. If you actually pay attention to most of the class stories you're supposed to start out somewhat young. Trooper fresh out of the academy, agent just finished training, bounty hunter a 'fresh young face', warrior just entering adulthood and going to the academy, both jedi classes Padawans starting their trials (so pretty young) etc. I've actually made some older looking fellows. Had a male agent in beta that had a great five o'clock shadow and some lines under his eyes. The options are there, use them. I've seen plenty of npcs with really aged features and most of those options ARE available to players if you mess with the options enough. As for the art style, which I think is the major culprit of your complaint..The art style was chosen for two reasons - Easier on older computers and better longevity. Most games with 'realistic' graphics tend to age terribly and look horrible years later. A lot of games that go less realistic last longer before they start to look dated. Beyond Good and Evil is a good single player example. Low polys, but with the updated high res textures it still looks fantastic for its age. I think Bioware was going for that.
