  1. Too easy. Let the sorc cast his thundering blast, in the mean time, chuck a flame burst and rail shot for 2-3times the damage.

  3. It is pointless debating with mara players. No matter how much fact you put into your post they will be back saying that heavy armor = 50% damage reduction and that damage doesn't matter because they don't have range etc. They even call other mara players who say the mara is OP bad players... Honestly I don't get it.
  4. Here's the difference. Other classes channels are interruptable, and don't have snares included on just about every attack they use (exaggeration I know but basically accurate) Imagine a max resolve carnage mara, leap with snare, free attack, ravage, cant CC him, can't move, no way to avoid a 10k hit for 50% of the classes.
  5. Did you take any additional DR talents? Or maybe 30% is right and I haven't looked in ages.

  7. Ummm... yeah thats what a mara who was defending your class said. Where you have said you get kited so that means you are bad? Lets correct your quote tho "the class is easy to kite but I play it and dont get kited cause I'm good" We have 2 maras, saying they dont get kited, one is defending maras the other is saying theyre op but they both agree only bad maras get kited. Then you claim you get kited so ranged is actually a defense against maras... then go on to call other players bad. You call a mara player who tops damage and kills on his team, on a dps class bad, and say doing damage/kills has nothing to do with being good, so what does make you good? Also at all the people that say you just kite people through all their defensive cooldowns, with a TTK of about 10 seconds in this game, you are better off doing 50% damage for those 11 seconds of kiting then you are doing 0% damage for 11 seconds and wasting all your cd's kiting something that will end up with 100% hp afterwards, assuming you actually manage to kite for 11 seconds.

  9. Your not looking at the big picture, lets say for instance CW. Maras take twice as long to kill as any other dps, so they can live longer and interrupt more on a point then say a ranged class does. See it can go either way, but the only actual metric that is based on fact you can use is that Mara/Sents have far more survivability then any other dps class without actually losing out on DPS. Also assassins have ranged atks, operatives have ranged atks, mara has an attack that negates range and also sabre throw. Mara can use all their attacks but 1 on the move. Every piece of mara offensive utility is attached to a damage ability, sorcs use GCD's to do 0-700 damage, just to keep range, while mara uses his actual dps rotation with added snares in it and interrupts off the GCD.
  10. Actually i left out abilities for the mara and included every ability for the other 2 classes i used as a comparison.
  11. Your right and your wrong. Yes the expertise buff did have something to do with it, and the smaller TTK. I think everything was balanced pre 1.2 but now there is one main class that benefited from the patch, the mara. In a game with a TTK of about 10 seconds against a non tank, a mara has a cooldown that will let it live an additional 5 seconds against any amount of people, and a second CD which will let it reset again when getting focused. Pyro PT, no matter what he does his effective HP wont exceed about 25k (hp x 1.25 (shield) x 1.28 (armor)). Sorc has roughly the same (hp x 1.19 (armor) + 3500 (bubble)), Mara gets 36k EHP before you even add GBTF or Force camo in (hp x 1.24 (armor) x 1.2 (rebuke) x 1.37 (about half way betteen 1.25/1.5 for sabre ward)) And the mara is the one that gets the true escape, how is that balanced?
  12. Cept that in group PVP off resolve CC > resolve causing CC.
  13. Or they could just use a jugg with intercede/leap/push/leap and a sin with force camo/sprint. All a sorcs friendly pull is, is a pass without letting go of the ball.
  14. The debate is not whether they are imbalanced/OP, since everyone who doesn't play a mara badly agrees about that. The debate is how to bring them in line.
  15. So you wouldn't mind having your healing received reduced by 99% while GBTF is up then? Since it is of no consequence either way. Basically 1v1 all GBTF is is a skill that makes you live 5 seconds longer, but in group combat it is a skill that gives you a second life. The damage that you deal while it is up is not the issue at all.
