  1. Well, they might not have done character transfers but, certainly succeeded in transferring people to other games that are coming out (looking at Diablo 3 and GW2)
  2. They took till 1.2 to implement guild banks, does not have any form of dual-spec and are starting to explore the LFG tool. Chat bubbles? Way down in their list of priorities.
  3. People gave WoW time. Why? That is because they had not much to fall back to. After alot of people got their MMO cherries popped, they know what an MMO is and how good it can be. Whne SWTOR came out, they faced an audience that knew about MMOs, about what an MMO should have, and have end game content. So giving SWTOR time? With various MMOs releasing all over, I think they should have a real good idea of what kind of crowd they were going to face. In short, Bioware used up its time (at least for over 24% of its subs).
  4. I think they should really start rewarding people for even logging in let alone queue up and bother to wait that long. Just plain showing up in a warzone is already kind of a blessing in my server. I just had a 5v8 in civill war. Its to the point where I almost dont see the point in logging in.
  5. Haha, I left this thread for 24 hours and look, its people trying to defend a game that suffers major issues instead of playing it which would prove me wrong. People posting instead of getting "absolutely immersed" in the world of SW:TOR. Is it the long warzone queues which could have been solved by cross server queues for low population servers such as mine? Is it the lack of end game content besides farming warzone commendations and running 3 weekly operations? Is it the lack of a nice area you can play and have genuine fun in? I tried to find a good reason as to why I should have stayed subbed but, couldn't and it is obvious that you guys find a need to defend against a legitimate point (in my eyes) made by a troll/hater? Yes, these threads are popping up everywhere, come on, how much of a percentage do you think negative threads take up in these forums, it is almost depressing for the players who genuinely enjoy the game don't you? I personally make these points because i want a discussion that has good points, not just a simple "get out of here if you aren't subscribed etc etc." Though, it has gotten to a point where other more dominant MMOs are out/coming out. No I did not expect this game to be a WoW-killer by any means because I did not expect it to kill any other MMO. I only wanted it to establish itself as a fun MMO to play. However, it has certainly tested my patience by answering what I see as irrelevant to obvious problems with the game in various Q&As. It wouldn't be fair at all to say they haven't tried but, have they applied their effort in the right areas of concern? My server is dying a horrific death in terms of population of players ( I will not comment on any others) and not much is being shown in terms of progress towards server transfers, cross server queues or even RATED warzones. To those that do still find enjoyment, continue playing the game and if you are sick of seeing these threads, dont you think posting in them is kind of working against yourself (they get bumped back up duhhh). Oh what a TOR-tanic...
  6. Not neccesarily believe or care whether he worked for EA or anything, more believeing what he said. Consider the game now and what the blogger said about it long ago and you got it. He pretty much knew it all along.
  7. Im going to, you should to. Take a good 4 month break (which is enough for you to play the vanilla game till an expansion comes out), to see if EA and/or BW bothers to act upon their promises. After all, you are what you do, not what you say.
  8. You think I haven't? Due to the awesome 30 days that they gave all the 50s of my server (on top of the other 30 that they billed me for anyway before putting the extra 30 in), I am technically still paying for it. Its funny, they gave free 30 days to so many on our server yet, I would find more parents in an orphanage than players on our fleet.
  9. Well, lets see, I invested 2 50s and a 41 worth of my time on it, got tier 3 of PVE and War Hero for PVP gear, watched my server rot as well as pay monthly fees. Currently, I hop on, queue for over an hour, this being an hour right after the dailies reset (yes, its in the morning but, not even 7-8 on each side are on and queued?) and then finally get a warzone pop. After that warzone, half of the losing side decides its not worth getting rolled over and over again and not bother queueing (thanks alot for no cross server queueing). Right at this point, I start getting that crappy feeling of why I am even logged on, to put bluntly, starting to get this metaphorical after taste of fart in my mouth. At this point, I am wondering, why the hell do I try to bother when this game just laughs at my sad face. So till Diablo 3 launches in 9 days, that will tide me over to Guild Wars 2, I am browsing these forums, watching the amount of people that are dissapointed in this game, boosting my accusation that swtor is currently failing (like someone mentioned "TORtanic"). I dont simply shrug and leave a game that I am still paying for, so I watch its forums and the amount of people flaming it.
  10. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/269533/old-republic-will-be-biggest-mmo-failure-ever/ Read it, that was two years old, at that point was it too late to change things already?
  11. This is all part of EAs plan maybe? See, they make it fail then charge to transfer servers (double earn) follow it up with proper changes they could have released (unlikely but possible). The only way it can redeem itself and recover from all of its lost playerbase is to make it all free and apply much needed changes to the game but, this also, is very very unlikely.
  12. Whether they do something about it now or later, damage has already been done. Yes, server transfers would have been nice, rated CROSS server queues would have been nice but, I think it can be agreed that legacy system definitely could have been on hold a little longer over these pressing matters.
  13. Doesnt matter, the fact that they aren't boasting their exact numbers/statistics already shows it, they aren't great at all.
  14. Stop arguing about Deserter Debuffs, a protocol droid is going to come along and say "That is a topic of popular discussion etc etc, we are currently looking into it. Please send your idea in detail etc etc.."
  15. Within 24 hours of release in 1.2, it was mentioned that Rated/Cross server warzones would not be up. What were they thinking, this is an old topic but, this really bugged me. Really? Within 24 hours they just mentioned this. So it took all the way till within the day of the patch releasing, somebody just said "Oh, its not ready." Was there a reason behind this late notification? Did they want people to renew their subscriptions?(obviously) I was really looking forward to this, especially for low population servers, that was their saving grace. Cross server PvP, not legacy system should have been a priority in my opinion. I will not say this game is failing or anything because I dont have to but, I really wanted to love this game, I really wanted to enjoy it for a long time. I put my faith into it, levelled two characters to 50 and a third to 41, even explored both PVP and PVE. Im sorry but, my patience for this game has ended. I will not finish this by promoting another game but, I have thought about it and my involvement in SWTOR for now has officially ended. Time to sit back and see if any changes are made to revive this game which many people placed their faith in.
  16. The Rakghoul plague wiped out the playerbase.
  17. Would there be enough people to play if it didn't come out soon?
