  1. Well, how do you explain when it happens on a Marauder... with no healer within 30m. Yes I've seen it happen on numerous occasions. It's just less suspicious when it happens on a class that could conceivably be healing themselves, but I'll wager that happens also. Whatever you do don't google infinite life hack. Or for that matter cooldown reset hack.
  2. More like eviscerated. Anything is better than Huttball. Hell Ilum is still better than Huttball....
  3. It's not so much that OP/Scoundrels are so overpowered. It's that they can still occasionally kill people through the computer by inducing stress heart attacks by stunning them. The devs are worried that they can't pay their subscription fees while dead.
  4. resolve doesn't affect roots. Just push pull stuns.
  5. I ignore the resolve bar, There's no damned telling if it's going to work or not. Sometimes you can stun people with a full bar sometimes you can't. I've noticed mine almost never works, so I don't even pay attention to it anymore. About he time i noticed I was getting knocked, pulled, stunned etc with a full white bar ticking I said the hell with it. These people don't know what the hell they are doing. Mechwarrior online in June anyway so pfft.
  6. For those of you who don't know what Darkness Falls was, it was an instance in Dark Age of Camelot (one of the best ever MMO's with PvP - modern MMO designers should be forced to play the game so they can understand what makes PvP fun) that was basically a resource intensive area that provided a tangible benefit to the side that controlled it. I would love to see Ilum redone along these lines. Something like a resource intensive area in the middle zone, Cash rich mobs, high level resource nodes etc etc. Like a crystal mine or some such. And only the side that controls the Ilum zone can access it. One of the most intensive and fun PvP encounters ever scripted was when the other side managed to retake the controls to gain access to Darkness Falls. Usually because everyone who had access to the zone was busy exploiting it, there were fewer defenders above so the Zone would change hands not long after the lockout timer ended. You weren't kicked from the zone when you lost control. The enemy would POUR in, and there would be a vicious fight to clear the area so that they could take their turn exploiting the goodies. If there was one thing that could resurrect open world PvP it would be something similar. I'd suggest A mine in the middle of Ilum that had High level fast respawning nodes. High level bosses with unique treasure, cash rich mobs and a 1 hour 30 minute lockout timer. Once you controlled Ilum (however they decide to rework that) the entrance would only be accessible to players of your faction and you would have a largish number of people entering the instance. This means that the faction that is locked out gets a chance to intercept players entering the instance for a while, then after the lockout timer expires, they should have a numerical advantage and be able to eventually get their turn. Sorry, it's a bit incoherent, too much Gin Probably. Maybe there are a few DAOC players who can explain it better.
  7. no, it's still possible to get pwned so bad you get nothing. If you're up against a steel sided Pre-made you can get locked out. It's rare, and his server is probably unbalanced as hell if it's happening regularly, but it can happen.
  8. There is another explanation. The enemy team was coordinated on vent, and managed to focus fire your healers down before they had any impact whatsoever. With no healing your dps cannot last long enough to have any real impact on a team being competently healed. It sounds like a matter of coordination.
  9. Lag isn't the issue. There are known issues with certain video cards (cough nvidia) not drawing objects where the sever reports them to be. There are also known issues with the netcode making wonky predictions about where it should be drawing a moving object. Combine those two factors together and running an i7 with 16 gigs of RAM and a jet engine vid card on a T3 won't help you.
  10. Shenanigans. Two healers and NEITHER one bothered to CC you more than once and heal up? You MIGHT have gotten one if you were able to vanish +opening rotation again and the other one was busy picking his nose or had been sleep darted with a significant period left on his break CC move but they obviously weren't on their game. Either that or you significantly out gear them.
  11. You're right, As soon as you start crossing into the 300k range you will be marked and focus fired BEFORE healers. The ability to spread damage out and a finisher means that you are an annoyance that can't be allowed because you are making their healers swap targets. There is no reason to not finish you off, because it still comes down to the fact that you are an operative with only one real escape maneuver it's a 3 min cooldown because it's not in your skill tree. The short 10m range is a definite drawback, a sniper would be a better choice. But then, who wants to reroll unless they have to? Because frankly Lethality is the ONLY choice (it doesn't mean it's a good one). Concealment is broken and if you have done any grinding for gear at all it's too late to go back and get medic gear.
  12. Respeccing to healing might be an option, if you felt like regrinding for medic gear..... Actually grinding back through two tiers for medic gear, since you are locked in now. Concealment has other problems besides just the inability to last through a fight long enough to kill someone without waiting until every cool-down is up. (which is boring as crap, but if you don't you will die, probably before your target does.) The netcode in this game makes positional attacks extremely chancy. What other class has positional attacks? What other class has it's main attack as a positional, out of stealth? Getting into position without being uncovered by aoe, spotted, or otherwise screwed is one thing, but doing it only to find that your target just isn't facing the way your client is drawing him, or is 5 feet tot the right is just insult to injury. At least lethality doesn't have that problem, but it has other issues that aren't being discussed here.
  13. They aren't the best healers. But then, what would it matter anyway unless you started out gathering medic gear? It's not like you can respec now, you're locked into your gear. I guess you could start over from scratch, but then, why not just reroll as a sorcerer/consular? it would take about the same amount of time to get to 50 as getting the BM medic set to trade in for WH medic.
  14. Maybe the PvE content will be exciting. Because frankly the PvE content in SWTOR isn't markedly different from WOW, and we've all already seen that.
  15. Gear won't fix the issue. All it will do is make it so you can face-roll new players also. Which leads to fewer new PvP players. I'm on a medium population server and I have to deal with the same pre-mades over and over also. War hero gear doesn't help. Once one side gets the upper hand the pvp queue just falls off and no one plays. Cross server might provide a wider pool to balance out matches but there is no sign they will implement that anytime in the next 6 months. Add to that the vapid, disingenuous, and downright foolish concept of a pvp stat, the crappy net/server code that makes positional attacks near impossible, and the ridiculousness of every f--king class having 2 or 5 forms of cc and a broken resolve system and pvp isn't worth the time. Because it just isn't FUN anymore.
  16. I'd say put a talent in that will let us go from a base 15 to 20m on all our "short range might as well be in melee" abilities. Put it in the lethality tree.
  17. Forget concealment. Lethality offers almost the same burst damage now without all the positional and stealth crap. Not to mention more survivability because you can get a head start on running away when things go wrong.
  18. It' s not removing my dots... maybe I should put in a ticket.
  19. Hell half the time i'm in combat when I frikkin RESPAWN.
  20. The only way to get out of combat now is to run into a warzone corner and wait 30 seconds. Make that 2 mins if you are lethality specced.
  21. I wish I knew. Concealment is now pretty much useful either for setting up someone else to kill something after you are dead, or for finishing off wounded enemy players and running away before you are toasted. Lethality hybrids seem to be the only thing left for operatives that want to survive a fight and get back into the fray before they die. But that means you will likely NOT begetting any 1v1 medals. By speccing a lethality hybrid you are pretty much taking on the role of someone who specializes in interrupts and slow damage. It is a good deal of utility, the enemy healers will hate you because you are making them swap targets a lot, and you will finish off the odd individual who is low on health. Learning to kite is critical to a lethality hybrid, and it is not easy with the number of stuns slows and knockbacks available to other classes. Dotting, vanish/shield and running is a tactic you will learn. Then you will know the joy of serving up enemies ready to kill so that other people can get medals. Really, medical is a viable spec, but I thought you had several healers already.
  22. Well. Oddly enough I don't feel as effective in pvp as i did with my juggernaut. I guess according to some folks that means I totally suck at playing an operative because I see a good bit of disparity.
  23. I'm starting to like the lethality spec. I toss acid grenade, grenade and tab dart a few people and then pop cloak. Wow I just set up a a couple of people for someone else to finsih off and I DIDN'T DIE IN 5 SECS BEING STUNLOCKED BY CONSULAR/SORCERERS.
  24. It does NOT remove all hostile effects. the tooltip is misleading to say the least.
  25. Actually, I can't stress enough that this was a stupid decision on the part of some dev that I perceive as having been backstabbed to death too many times by an agent that was giggling. I Think that's the entire reason for all the nerfs. And yes, removing a unique indicator of my proc was a NERF. screw your new noise.
