  1. It makes them standard in your opinion, period.
  2. No, they aren't. They're standard for WoW and COH (based off a comic book). MMO doesn't mean sandbox, doesn't mean revolutionary, doesn't mean it's WoW. MMO = Massive Multiplayer Online. I could say that wands are standard for the genre, doesn't mean they should be here.
  3. Wait... we're in a comic book now? Chat bubbles? Really people?
  4. Considering all classes have storyline quests, in this soldier's humble opinion, switching should only be at level 50.
  5. OP:Please post the top 10 legitimate reasons why you hate this game. 1. Pretty-painted backdrops to disguise how small the world/planets really are. -Your opinion since I like the "backdrops" instead of "this is full of empty space you have to walk across to get anywhere" type timesink. 2. Level based instead of skill based system -Your opinion again, because there is skill in knowing how your class is best played, and the best way to kill. I was level 16 in my first PVP warzone. Came up 1st in kills, and 6th in damage. Level means absolutely dick. 3. Warzones where lvl 10 competes against lvl 50 -Opinion again, because everyone being even is a GOOD thing. Why is it bad? Low levels like me kicking your ***? You need to feel superior by trying to take on lower levels? 4. Too many catch/kill/fetch quests -Opinion again, because you still haven't given us any examples of what you'd do to replace 50 levels worth of quests with unique quests. Give me 1000 different quests you can do in this game. 5. Class mirroring -Opinion. I like it because both sides are equally matched. Winning takes "Skill" (like you mentioned above). Nit-picky people like yourself would cry nerf on the enemy team, but you can't now since any nerf to them is a nerf to you. 6. Lack of Crafting -Opinion, because I've seen a lot of crafting. It may not be hardcore, but it's a lot better than most games I've played. 7. Boring space missions -Opinion, because some are quite fun to me 8. Horrible UI / lack of ability to re-size/reposition. -Opinion, because I find this UI to be pretty good for out-of-the-box. I could only think of 8." Where are these facts you speak ok??
  6. This. So many say "quests are boring" and yet when I challenge them to tell us what quests they would want instead, they hide under their bridges because they have no answer. So, I put the same challenge to the OP: What kind of quests were you expecting? Post specifics since you clearly know what you're talkin- sorry, can't finish this sentence with a straight face.
  7. Thank you for proving my point. My damage is just fine thank you. I'm just worried about people like you putting too much importance on something pretty insignificant. This game is being played by people just fine without those pretty little numbers you find validation in.
  8. Those are the single most useless things ever implemented in an MMO. When DPS meters are put in, people forget their class, forget their intended roles, and sometimes wipe entire groups just so they can say 'my numbers were higher than yours'. Please BW, and modding community (if there is one for this game), I beg you not to create any form of damage meter so that the classes focus on getting the job done, and not getting the insignificant numbers higher than other people's insignificants numbers.
  9. Before all the flames hit, there are a number of keyboards that come with macro buttons that you can program yourself. There are also gamepads, such as the Logitech G13, that can accomplish this as well. While game assigned ones that you can assign to 1,2,3,4,5,etc... would be nice, until they come out, the macro adapters are the only way.
  10. The fact you replied says you didn't ignore it Also: Quests are not the only thing that can be done in an MMO. But then again, I assume doing the same things over and over and over again for gear(raiding) to get to the next part of the game (the next raid instance) is better than PVPing over and over and over again for gear. Oh wait same things, just one you can plan it all out and go autopilot I'm quite well informed, just have a goal in this game past repetition of the same scripted level.
  11. ...that it's kind of crazy that some people blew through the 50 levels in 2 weeks, and are crying that there's no "end game" which they'd probably blast through just as fast? To those people I say: I'm sorry that this game is your full time job. Maybe find a better hobby, and remember this game is supposed to be recreational. I am, for one, loving this game! The voice acting is superb and lasts the entire game, the quests have random encounters very often compared to other games, and there is actually a lot of different types of classes to play. You may say all classes are too alike, but then you would all cry nerf on anything that can kill you. You may say all the missions are too "go here and do that" but try and think up different types of quests that would fit in to the game model. Not just one, but 50 different ones because you all cry about anything less. You may say "this isn't to my expectations" but then you won't lift a finger with designing, coding, developing and launching your own basic game. You arm-chair warriors seem to think your opinion should dictate the course of a game affection thousands, but no, no it shouldn't. Bioware, thank you for this awesome game, no matter what the nay-sayers say. I am having a blast in this game and will continue to do so. /flamesuit on
  12. I'm really enjoying the game so far! I don't know what people are whining about, because this game is really fun, has some nice variations from the cookie-cutter MMOs out there, and the voice acting is SUPERB and adds a very, very nice element to the game. My ONLY gripe is that my companion is a psychotic sadist that gets pissed off no matter what I do. I want a Mako
