  1. PvP is more "carebear" than PvE in SWTOR. I could lose 6 matches. Get my daily. Make some real progression towards better gear and get some credits. A similar attempt at PvE - multiple wipes with no win in a raid would result in a loss of credits due to repairs and no gear progression.
  2. While I agree that the OP shouldn't be "demanding" I believe that he does have a point. BW want us to carry on playing. They want us to play the game to its strengths - the storylines. They realise a lot of quality playtime can be ecked out by encouraging us to re-roll the opposing faction (for the players like me that so far haven't). So the shiny new toy is shall be the reward for doing so. The OP however has already completed an opposing faction storyline so he feels he is being forced to grind. Also to consider is that people kept their opposing faction toons on different servers back in the early days. Made sense if you believed you were going to play for a long time. 8 slots = 8 AC's/faction. Spoils open world PvP when people can change sides. As for me this HK-51 character is a bit of a "who?". I'm guessing its a KOTOR thing. I mean to say, there isn't even a lego minifig!!!!. If it was IG-88, now we're talking.
  3. Wouldn't that just lead to people swapping out high expertise mods for other stats? Would end up with the max pvp gear being a mix of WH and high end PVE ops gear.
  4. But why would someone bother to reply "L2P" or the equivilent (incorrect spelling) when they have better things to do?
  5. Would that not be more properly described as ad-hominem? My understanding of slippery slope revolves around the "thin edge of the wedge". The Y can not be in the same league as the X. X is minor, Y is major (and doesn't actually follow). Such as "He made a grammatical error, next he will use unsound logic in his arguments." Although there may be a loose association between X and Y there must be a degree of difference before it falls into the slippery slope fallacy.
  6. I always thought the slippery slope fallacy was that "if you allow X then this will lead to Y" in situations where X does not lead to Y. Specifically when X is something unimportant or acceptable and Y is something much more important and less acceptable. I do however accept your OP as replying with L2P is lazy. The reply should of course be pointing out the abilities available to avoid getting roflstomped.
  7. My guild quit over the PVP. Admittedly it was the lack of world PVP that did it, not the CC. I enjoyed WoW for a few months untill I realiese that the RvR was a bit pointless. I blame it on DAoC being my first MMO. Probably looking back with rose tinted specs a bit though. One class had AoE CC!. How cheesy was that?. I find CC in WZ's annoying. I'd glady have mine nerfed to break on damage for all classes. Or a % damage reduction whilst stunned.
  8. 1. Imps love me. 2. Casual player so can't talk about RWZ. Normal WZ's there are occasions when it is fun. When guarded by a good tank, when the enemy is rubbish, that's about it. Playing against most teams it is a case of how many enemy can I get to leave the objective whilst they kill me. If it is one I often can kill him (full WH aug). 2 is their optimum for a fairly quick kill. I don't want more CC as there is too much in wz's already. How about one of these defence cooldowns? Even something like make my next heal uninterruptable? I've specced as much anti-knockback as I can but still find the amount of interrupts too much. I know my skills aren't great and I'm sure there are sages out there that perform much better in wz's however for me I can state that WZ's simply aren't fun. Some suggestions. My bubble absorbs more damage (even just for me). My fast heal (1.5 second) insta with cooldown (easy then to re-tweak if proves to be too unbalancing). Some type of armour increase defence cooldown. Sprint immune to slow (though I accept that in Hutball this would be overpowered).
  9. Here is my take on it and I'm probably wrong. When the game opened the plan was to have X number of players per server. The following months showed that this number wasn't big enough to provide enough grouping oppertunities (especially when the people who didn't like the game quit). BW decided (with a little prompting from the players) to go with X x Y players per server (by adding servers to the farm, or chucking another 4k stick of ram into the pc, or whatever). So now we have far fewer servers which are a lot busier. Sensible solution when you are trying to retain players who actually like the game but find they can't actually play certain content due to small servers.
  10. I'm a healer and of course get more than my fair share of votes due to my name appearing above the player getting heals. In a busy WZ he/she is probably too busy to notice what everyone else is doing. I try to spot who is guarding me and peeling when im focused and vote accordingly. Sometimes I vote for the person in recruit gear who has been trying his/her best. And as above look out for someone who has spent the warzone guarding and calling incs. If someone is badmouthing another player I vote for the other player as I can't stand rude people.
  11. He he, yup, I post whilst waiting in WZ queue. Gives me lots of time to read forums.
  12. When you have finished being patronising please point out where I said RP doesn't matter. Your point seems to be don't allow transfers from LC. I've been playing on LC since launch. I've seen it go from full (and queued) to empty. I've joined in RP where I have come across it (although I haven't the wit to keep up with good RP'rs) and enjoyed the experience. Do you feel there is likely to be an influx of people who wish to play on an English speaking RP-PVP server in Europe? My post did indeed show that you need people for RP. The problem is there isn't enough people. Those left on LC are leaving. Day by day we reach new lows in fleet pop and longer wz queue times. BW have asked my preference regarding transfers. I play on LC. I will unsubscribe if nothing is done. I doubt BW is going to spend a lot of time ensuring everyone is catered for. Due to the low numbers of people who wish to play RP-PVP it is clear that something has to give. I would support the choice to transfer to PVP, RP-PVE or PVE in that order. If options are going to be limited by BW then I'll go for PVP (in the hope that open world PVP exists in the future). I'm not sure what your solution is, or if anyone on LC supports it. What I don't want to happen is waiting any longer whilst BW make statements like "the community is still discussing". You are not part of the LC community (as far as I know). You say you support the RP'rs on LC. It would be easy for you to do this. Roll on LC and join in.
  13. I agree. I'd prefer to face the other faction but after the first hour in the queue I'm just happy to get a game.
  14. I feel sorry for the people who want a dedicated RP-PVP server but lets face it the only RP that will be happening on LC is Episode 4. I noob levelling up and 2 crusty old Jedi, one of whom won't even come out to get his dailies done.
  15. Do you think there are enough players who wish to keep an English speaking RP-PVP server viable (in Europe)? I wish there were but it really isn't looking viable. I logged on an hour ago. My guild were pvp,ing against each other. When that wz finished the population on the fleet doubled. What happened on your side of the fence? Was it 2 into 1 or 3 into 1? If BW merge the 3 EU RP-PVP servers I'll certainly give it a go. My preffered choice is a PVP move but I'm game for anything that has a good chance of improving numbers. Options for all may be a luxury we don't get. I'm glad you are taking the time to share your views in this thread but could you point out if you actually have a character that you play on LC. BW are reading this thread to try to get a feel of opinions of the actuall LC players so it would clarify to them whether or not you have a stake in this.
  16. Transfer to a PVP server. That gets my vote. Shuzof - Dai Bendu
