I am actually replying to others as the conversation progressed.... Sorry mate I didn't realise I had to run it by you every time I responded to see if it was ok. You kept on interjecting the same tired response which had nothing to do with how the convo was progressing, at the point of creating the original post I didn't understand how the "system" (if you can call it that) worked, it was explained, I responded by saying essentially saying it's the poorest bolster system ive seen in an MMO. It's amazing the few people who just aren't getting it, the people who are blindly defending the game against the"bad guy" just because he has said "hey, it doesn't make any rational sense to nerf the guy in better gear than the lower level next to him in sub standard gear" if that is the sort of logic you run with in rl id hate to see the decisions you make..... But hey, what do I know, im just a noob..... Thanks to those in the thread who were willing to have a conversation as oppose to those that just talk AT people.

Exactly the point I was trying to make from the beginning. Why didn't the system pick up that my gear by today's standards was no good and just give me the same base stats it would pass a lvl 35 in greens.

I understand bolster perhaps may not take my obsolete gear into consideration and make me better than the 35, but to make me significantly worse? And yes they do it way differently in other MMO's, as standard practice is to usually compare a player's level and the level/quality of their gear and adjust it that way. So a lvl 45 in greens would likely be slightly less powerful in a bolster system vs a lvl 25 in purples for example. To in a minimal way reflect the levels of likely effort of each player. That is the sort of bolster system that for me makes sense and would easily take into account all gear, obsolete or not as its based on item level vs player level. It isn't perfect but realistically no bolster system will be. But there is a good way to do bolster and a bad way, and I couldn't even describe for you the rationale that the SWTOR bolster system uses and I doubt anyone else can here either. Anyway I guess the people who understand have given the advice I needed. To be honest im just using the tougher circumstances to refine my play and that way when I get the gear that brings me on par I should do quite well. However for many older players who might come back I see them simply uninstalling, thus the feedback.

My reference to level 35 was an experience leveled 35 not level 35 in valor. In other words as a level 50 in BM/WH gear is significantly out-geared by a level 35 in basic gear was the point of my post. It's not about expecting MMO's to stay the same as someone else suggested, that just simply bends all logic, thus why I left the feedback as this would boggle any returning players mind and possibly cause them to leave as fast as they came.

Definitely got all the slots full. Just for some reason the bolster algorithm doesn't like the old pvp gear for some reason. Sadly I don't have anything to readily replace it with so I am just having to pvp a bit gimped atm and will upgrade come lvl 60.

Haven't played for a touch over 3 years now. Decided to return to check it out. I like to PvP mostly, I have a valor level of 81 (and from what I have seen outside of titles valor means absolutely nothing now) and in half BM and WH. That thing that is really getting to me though is when I enter WZ's with my gear I have 1200 expertise while level 35's next to me with zero pvp gear have 2k. Don't get me wrong, I really couldn't care less they have 2k, but it bothers me greatly I only get bolstered to 1.2k.... The bolster system is absolutely awful from what I have had to experience so far. Completely backwards. I am sure my feedback won't change a thing but it's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

In 3 hours ill be having some very awesome fun, and you will be stuck here playing this and whining on this thread....Oh wait a min, you won't be playing cause there is a maintenance isn't there? Wow, why do you even play an MMO? You think its perfectly ok to earn the eqiv to Rakata tier of gear while fighting LOW levels? What do you suggest for all those poor PvE'ers out there that can't get Rakata as soon as they hit level 50? Free gear for them too? Why not just take leveling out of the game altogether? Have everyone level 50 in top tier gear as soon as you are finished with character creation. You have things served on a golden platter and you still want more. So glad I unsubbed, less than 5 hours to go.... Enjoy your "MMO".

There is no mistake concering this thread. The OP wants level 50 epic gear (which is already served on a platter when you hit 50) for fighting level 13's with only 25% of their skills. Its ridiculous. You talk about skill over gear, where is the skill in that?

OP is right. 2 Days to grind BM gear is too long! I want it now! now! now! You call yourself a dedicated PvPer.... What you are complaining about taking 2 days to get, took people 2 months, yet you feel so much injustice by this you write this post... Talk about entitlement. If you are such a dedicated PvPer you will spend any comms on ranked comms for your WH gear if you are capped. No big deal....to most.

Rated comms. If you have capped rated comms then WZ exp pots and WZ health pots. Think all gear you want requires level 50 incuding the crystals.

Unfortunately there are many practical solutions BW could do to fix this problem, however the soonest anything is going to happen to fix these problems is server transfers and cross realm WZ's, both of which will come "soon" by their words. I know thats not what you want to hear, we are all in the dark on this, and taking it out on us, just because some don't have this problem and have no way to fix it for you, is a bit unfair. For now (and again I know you don't want to hear this) you are going to have to grin and bear it, or be proactive ie: don't PvP, roll an imp, encourage others to join the WZ's, roll a different server, take a break from the game, roll an alt till things sort themselves out, etc, etc. But coming here and blasting the players (many who are waiting for the exact same thing you are) because you are fed up, isn't going to fix your problem.
