  1. You were correct. Carp does have a GS alt that is lvl 50. Just didn't see it when I browsed the first time - too excited to hit 50 maybe! We've had a few world boss ops over the past three weeks. We've killed the WB on Coruscant a few times, Nar Shaddaa, Tattoine, Taris, Alderaan and a couple others. Had a blast each time. Seems to take fewer and fewer ppl each time as well.
  2. Hmmm....didn't show up when I viewed the entire guild, including off-line, and sorted by level. Oh well, grats to Carp regardless! GS is a pain in the rear to level up!!
  3. Finally emptied my xp bar for the last time Monday night. Happy to be the first lvl 50 gunslinger in the guild (was surprised by that fact, actually). Getting my gear in better shape in hopes of hitting some of the PvP areas with the other lvl 50 folks soon. Should be fun.
  4. Let me know if you need help with that. I've never asked and never will ask for the 25k or the speeder, but would be happy to donate for new folks if needed. I'm currently making about 200k a day on the GTN so it's not like I don't have creds sitting around! And yes, it's been fun as hell the past few weeks. Have over 40 ppl on last night and nobody was bored. Should have a surge in those hitting lvl 50 soon (I'm holding at 49). Nice to see a lot of us on Voss last night (nine of us). We're gonna wipe out the heroics on Voss either tonight or tomorrow night. Fun, fun, fun!! Me - a.k.a. Frave
  5. Was on last night and someone tried to do a guild invite for a new member. Would not let them due to guild being full!! One of the officers killed off a bunch of alts for people that were on and said they could be dropped. Did not take long for guild to fill back up again! Guess your post worked, Almar!!
  6. Guild seems to be getting larger by the day. Have had tons of equipment given to me and have given lots to others as well. Working through Hoth with Galen'marek. Grouped with him on Ord Mantell and we've been tearing up planets ever since. Did a few flashpoints this past weekend. Had a riot with the Colicoid War FP. Glad I joined!!
  7. Almost couldn't keep up with all the new additions to the guild last night! Seems like every 10-15 minutes I was getting the "XXX has joined the guild" followed by half a ton of "welcome" messages from those who were logged on. Was on Balmora last night and there were only 7 people on the planet. Four of them were from our guild! Can you say, "Who got the 4 man heroics done?" In fairness, two of us helped two of the remaining 3 to get theirs done as well.
  8. That was my thought as well. I'm awake at 4:30am every day and he's been on then, at lunch, after work and all night it seems. I can't recall not seeing either Almar or one of his alts on just about any time I've logged in. Regarding the free stuff - it is great that Almar offers it, but I haven't taken him up on any of it. I've already gotten tons more equipment from others in the guild just so they don't have to sell it. My kinda guild.
  9. If everyone who is playing on the low end keeps grouping and cooperating, it should not be long before there are more lvl 50 ppl running around. Since I know the smuggler story line, I can skip a lot of the dialog and travel faster knowing what quests are where. Should take me about three weeks to get back up to lvl 50.
  10. Made my character and joined the guild on Friday night. Was amazed to see so many people in the newbie zone at one time (38 on Ord Mantell). Grouped up with another new guild member and we were done with all the quests including heroics in about two hours. Moved on to Corousant and it was basically the same thing. Lots of people and most LFG's answered within a few minutes. The longest it took me to get a group was about 20 minutes due to where it was (heroic in The Works). Have quickly moved past Taris and on to Nar Shada but still encountering the same thing - lots of people in each zone (not just in the guild) who are willing to group and help each other. Enjoying this server and this guild.
  11. My server is also suffering from low population. I joined a guild at lvl 27 and was quite happy to see over 350 people in it. Fast forward a month or so and you'll rarely see anyone on in the guild. Most of the officers have rerolled on another server leaving the guild to flounder. I play a gunslinger - actually two gunslingers! One is lvl 50 and the other just hit 25. I rerolled to try out a different spec from start to finish. Since I'm not that far along, I would think about moving servers. Are there many gunslingers on your server or in your guild? Thanks in advance.
  12. Wow, I guess I was unclear in my OP. That's what I get for rambling! Appreciate the answers and it is now clear to me that it was unnecessary to start the second GS. I'll start the PvP grind soon, once I can get my video card upgraded.
  13. Was waiting for this game to come out for a long time. Didn't participate in the beta, but did get into the early access by about a week before the game went "live". Played my first character, a female gunslinger, to lvl 50. I had tons of problems with almost every elite mob I encountered and had to call in help from my guild on a few of them. Kept reading about different styles, builds, etc. here in the forums but it was too late to change some things. So, I started a new gunslinger two days ago. In just a couple of days, she has been able to attain her ship at lvl 15, defeat any elite she has encountered, completed the heroic missions on Ord Montell and Courascant (sp) - did republics most wanted solo and only died once - and gotten slicing and scavenging skills up to 200'ish. At lvl 15, me and Corso are able to take out mobs that my previous character had to wait until almost lvl 20 to defeat. I'm not sure if it is the better gear attained in the heroic missions or better set up of my rotation but I'm really loving this class now. That said, is it really worth it to level another gunslinger up to 50? From what I've read, once you get to 50 it is basically all PVP to get good gear. Some say GS class can't hang and others say we are Gods in PVP. I've never played anything close to PVP, so I'm wondering if I have the skills to be effective. Don't want to get to that point and quit due to lack of folks not wanting our class either. Just wanted to say thanks for everyone who's posted tips, tricks, techniques and strategies in these forums. I might not have understood them the first time around, but I'll blame that on age (48) and desire to rush to end-game. Would appreciate any suggestions on how to best gear up pre-lvl 50 to ensure I'm ready for the big leagues. Thanks.
  14. To add to that great advice, take a few minutes to travel every road on the map. You'll gain free experience just for discovering new places. This is a lot easier once you get your speeder, of course. On a planet like Hoth, you can gain 15k xp just by running around on the speeder checking things out.
  15. I was having trouble with the elites on Tat and Alderaan until I realized it was my tactics that needed adjusting. Rather than sit back behind the shield, I'll now run up close enough so that Dirty Kick will land. Soon as I see the mob channeling/casting, they get a swift kick. Keep Flash Grenade ready for the next time mob wants to cast/channel. Keeping the mob from using whatever special abilities they have has saved me now that I've changed tactics. As others have said, things will change when you get Risha or Spar. Even though I've now got all companions, I usually travel with Risha or Spar.
  16. Cinabre - or as she usually runs around 'Flygirl Cinabre'. Yeh, stupid title but Cina isn't just a smuggler Same name as my EQ toon.
  17. Add me to the list as well. I am tired of using a magnifying glass to read the quest text and answers. Yes, I'm middle-aged, but too small is too small at any age.
  18. Until yesterday, I had seen very few people on my server except on Courasant. Out of the blue, I got a guild invite. Talked to the GL for a bit via /whisper and decided to join. To my surprise, there were 53 people in the guild and most were the same I had seen previously with /LFG tag on. As someone has said previously, it sometimes takes effort to ge things started. Being a former EQ guild leader, I had had my share of drama and didn't feel the need to join a guild in SWTOR. Now that I have, I'm glad I did.
  19. I'm not feeling so bad now. Thought I was doing good to reach this guy at level 15. He thrashed me about four times before I finally decided to level some more. Also upgraded armor as much as possible by turning in the Corousant Commendations. About to hit lvl 17 and will try him again then.
