  1. Sure. /say is a range-limited channel used (mostly) for IC chat. Additionally, /e can be used for custom emotes (with the format "/e {text}" becomes "<Your character's name> {text}"). There's also custom chat channels you can create and join using the /cjoin {channel name} command, if you want a more private setting without making a group.
  2. I have to say, I'm rather surprised they haven't descended like bats outta hell on this issue. It seems like all "technical challenges" and "resource issues" get thrown out the window when it comes to anything CM related. You would think an exploit that gives out free Cartel Coins would shoot to #1 priority pretty fast.
  3. A level rollback option would be pretty cool - as long as it's optional. Having the ability to outlevel content is nice, too. I'm thinking a possible implementation of this would be: upon joining a group, a popup asks if you would like to rollback to the median level of the rest of the group. Similar to the existing popup for transferring instances. This way no one is forced into it (there could even be a toggle in preferences to disable the popup entirely). From a technical standpoint, this would probably be feasible using a sort of reverse-bolster. Hopefully that's not too "technically challenging" for them... even though it probably is. But anyway, nice idea!
  4. Bah, that's what I get for not reading all 60+ pages >_<
  5. I'm pretty sure you can still get comms from the chests in Outlaw's Den. So, not entirely useless... right? It is a lot of fun, though. Especially if you can get a really big group.
  6. Sooo... on topic... Can we count people from the old forums? I can't be the only one who remembers battlebug's Sword in Box.
  7. Because UI, story content, and PvP are totally all done by the same people.
  8. I'm really appalled that this hasn't happened by now. We're talking years. Even if there was just one person working on this every now and then, there's no reason it couldn't have been done by now. And only one response from BioWare... over a year ago?? Seriously, just put the laggy chat bubbles from beta back in (make them disabled by default, of course). A lot of people have the processing power to spare.
  9. Anysao already made this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=320294 I guess I just posted about 100 pages worth of funny lines. Do I win?
  10. So basically, you're looking for something like Halo's Firefight. Sounds fun to me; I support.
  11. Cows go "moo." Dogs go "woof." MMO players go "the PvP is unbalanced!" (+10 internets if you actually remember that video )
  12. /signed A subscription should be the ultimate tier. Trying to squeeze even more money out of those who are already paying is just greedy. I would rather pay for this expansion up front than see nagging little money grabs everywhere.
  13. I'm not comparing different ships. I'm comparing one ship with no gear vs. the same ship with maxed out gear. Can we agree that, however small the effect, HAVING GEAR is better than NOT HAVING GEAR? Since you can pay to have gear, you can pay to be better. In other words, you can pay to win. Yes, the effect is small. But the grievance is really more about the principle of it.
  14. I completely agree. It's really just a way to sell boosts to subs. Subscriber is no longer the ultimate tier. It's Free Player < Free Player who buys CC < Subscriber < Subscriber who buys CC < Subscriber who buys even MORE CC. They will always want you to spend more money. Because they will never get enough.
  15. It's not exactly winning, but getting better gear, which improves your chances of winning. Of course with the bracket system, the effect of gear is negligible. There is still an effect, though, however small. Because you can indirectly obtain that effect through the use of CC, it is in principle pay-to-win. It would be nice not to have such a system, but it's too profitable with effects too miniscule such that it's highly unlikely BW/EA will repeal it. It doesn't hurt to try, though, right?
