  1. I spent a ton of creds to get a few of my characters to the gold level amplifiers I wanted across all their stats. I actually like amplifiers as a credit sink but think theyy should be at the character level and not the mod level. Basically, you should have these stats in your character sheets at the build level and should be able to get to a point that once it is maxed it is perma.
  2. Good to hear that it is being delayed. Maybe now you will do the things your customers want and not the things they don't want. Instead of always taking one step forward and three steps back you have an opportunity right now to only do positive things for your customers. Leave Conquest and Renown as is Don't get rid of the current daily / weekly reset Modify the gearing to have vendors that sell all gear; don't have BIS gear locked behind Ops; Allow your customers to play what they want to play to earn rewards that will allow them all to eventually get BIS gear Focus on getting multiple builds right If you do these things I predict the vast majority of your customers will be happy. If you keep going down your current path I predict you lose a lot of your current customers.
  3. I dunno, I liked the Precise Targeter set and the Victor's sets.
  4. I honestly don't get the hate for the RNG because we have the Tech Fragment path to get gear. I always looked at the tech frag path as the main path and the RNG path as a secondary path where I might get something good but if I got something I couldn't use I would at least get more tech frags or some mods. I do think it would have made sense to have a vendor take a piece of gear and let me exchange it with some credits and/or tech frags to get another piece within the same set. (i.e. take an extra death knell chest piece and exchange for a death knell bracer). This would have solved the entire RNG issue and it would be a minor enhancement as opposed to gutting the entire system.
  5. Ops players get options for some gear in 6.0 that is not available to non-Ops players. If I want a set of Apex Predator I have to either play Ops or hope I can get it through Kai over several months. That is not a small advantage that Ops players got in 6.0.
  6. Point remains, adding small gear improvements attained through flash points, Conquest, renown, and solo activities, makes it more fun to run them. Because you get to continue that sense of character progression. The same stance works for solos as well. We want continual progression as well to BIS gear, I think most of us are fine to have gearing be faster for those that do Ops or FPs, but we still want to be able to get to BIS as well. That is why we play the game - to grow and progress, but to do it with the activities we enjoy. It doesn't hurt Ops players if solos get BIS, so why are they whining about it? Today solos can get BIS playing the activities they enjoy. In 7.0 solos will not be able to get BIS unless they play Ops. This is obviously limiting and negative impacting solo players.
  7. The short answer is yes, the new expansion will absolutely limit solo players.
  8. I'm sure I'm an outlier, but I agree with this statement. I said in an earlier post that I felt it was odd that I could run 26 alts through Conquest obtaining 1.3M conquest points and get 26 rewards. But if I have one character I obtain 1.3M conquest points I only get 1 reward. I was suggesting we should get a reward every time I ding 50K points even if I stayed on the same character. Seems logical to me... I like 6.0 gearing and would prefer to keep a similar system. My preference would be to have every activity drop gear currency and then you go buy your gear with the gear currency. I would be fine if Ops got gear more gear currency for their activities and solo players got less gear currency for their activities, but it gives everyone the ability to gear up to max gear. It would be faster for Ops players, but as long as I had a path to continually optimize to BIS I would be fine.
  9. You think 6.0 gearing was a **** show. I think it was the best gearing system since the game started. Seems like a lot of people liked 6.0 gearing, but who knows. Maybe the vast majority of players agree with you, but I'm seeing a lot of posts stating they are likely to quit with 7.0 gearing. I'll probably be one of them, but will at least give 7.0 a chance to see what's like.
  10. I agree, this was my first thought when I started seeing these changes. Good luck to them (I guess)...
  11. Will you be able to change your original combat stance? Example: I am currently a Smuggler / Gunslinger Sharpshooter. When combat stance go live will I be able to take this existing character and pick the combat stance or am I stuck with my original. I went to PTS and it looks like you cannot change your original, but thought I would ask in case there is info I haven't seen.
  12. Yep, my brief return will end with 7.0. I am enjoying 6.0, but 7.0 looks horrible...
  13. I suggest reading the guides on Vulkk or watching Swtortista videos on YouTube for the guides to gearing up. They were very helpful for me as a returning player a month or so ago. One thing to consider is that the level of the gear you get is really based on the gear you are wearing when you open crates. If you wear 306 gear you are more likely to get 306 gear. Frankly the fastest way for me was to buy 306 gear for one character. This is best if you have guildies that craft and will give you a discount to help. Still very expensive with probably an average of $20M per item, but with some items costing hundreds of millions it is not to crazy. Apparently super crates sell well, maybe buy a super crate for cartel coins and sell on the GTN and buy the gear you need. BTW, please verify this before doing it. I didn't go this path, so not sure it will work. Left side ~ $100M (Ear, Implants, Relics) Right side ~ $540M (Armoring, Mods, Enhancements, Barrel/Hilts) My math could be off... Once you have one character at 306 you can run Vet FPs and then you will start getting more 306 gear when you open the crates. I ran Hammer Station. I filtered on Hammer Station when queuing to make sure I only got HS and ran several per week. I have 26 characters and I did Conquest each week. I took my one set of 306 gear and put it into the legacy storage. Whichever character I was playing would wear the gear and when they finished conquest would be opening the crates while wearing 306 gear. This led to many sets of basic 306 gear as well as set armors, so now all my characters have at least a set of basic 306 gear, so no need to share. With the tech frags I bought the set armors I was missing. Still working on the core armor sets, but the good news is you can share sets. I have gunslinger sets I share with my Snipers, etc. At this point with all 306 gear anything I get that is not 306 I disintegrate for the tech frags. For me the key was getting that first character to 306. Once that was done it was all down hill from there... Hope this helps...
  14. I was a long time player, but left when the CoH Homecoming popped up in 2019. I came back a little over a month ago and thought I would share some thoughts. Gearing: I really like the gearing system with the Tech Fragments. As a solo player I am able to gear through Conquest to the point I am able to gear about one character per week from a set perspective, Getting the actual modifications I need might take a bit longer, but I like the gearing so far. This is an easy to understand gearing methodology and allows me to play the way I like in order to gear. I think this has been one of the better gearing methodologies (much better than the previous grind Ossus methodology). I really like the addition of the Tacticals and Amplifiers. Nice way to differentiate characters a bit. Don't really like the gates to certain sets (Apex Predator). My take is all the sets should be purchasable from the vendor. Conquest: I primarily play Conquest solo. I like that it is easy to do to achieve my 50K. I do Conquest pretty strategically, so I plan before Tuesday and get some of my characters set for what they will be doing for Conquest. I try to achieve all Conquest goals by Friday, so I can play whatever character I want on the weekend. I do wonder why I have to play many different characters to get the rewards. I was thinking they should just offer the rewards at every 50K points. Right now I force 26 characters through Conquest and get at least the minimum of 50K points, so I am generating 1.3M conquest points a week. Why shouldn't I just be able to play one character and get 26 different conquest rewards for achieving the 1.3M points? PVP: The lag seems way worse than it ever was previously. I cannot even see myself shooting half the time, so have decided I can probably no longer really PVP. I had been limiting my PVP before I left anyway since the devs had made adjustments where a loss didn't count towards the weekly total, so I guess no big loss. I would like it if they changed this back and fixed the lag. GSF: Unfortunately my absence has not made me any better. I like playing GSF, but I am so bad at it I feel like I am letting my team down. This is after watching hours of tutorials and reading guides. Story: I liked the new stories and planets. Get repetitive when you are leveling 26 different characters from 70 to 75. Still it seems they had added more content in my absence than they did the few years previously and content is good. 7.0 It seems to me the Dev team is always taking one step forward and 2 steps back. They usually seem to have a good idea or two (Combat Stances, Weapon Slot, Load Outs) and then just ruin it by having several bad ideas ("Pruning", new UI that looks horrible, doubling conquest points, changing weekly resets, etc.). I really don't get how they can do something well like 6.0 and then turnaround and come back with something like 7.0. But this has been their history, so I am not surprised. If they had stuck with Combat styles I think a lot of people would be happy, but they are now (once again) changing the character abilities. I could get onboard with pruning abilities where you take some existing abilities and combine effects, but just taking some abilities out altogether doesn't seem good. I am skeptical they can pull this off based on their previous history. Why not just combine some utilities and maybe add some more? I have been on PTS and basically every character I tested is losing something I would want to keep. In addition, it seems they are going to double the points (to 100K) to achieve the weekly conquest target as well as change how the weekly targets are reset. I never understand why they don't focus on things players would all be onboard for them to do. Fix bugs, fix the *********** lag, combat styles, new content, new classes, etc. I get they probably want to port to consoles and they probably think they are going to bring in a new playerbase. Maybe they will. I have my doubts. The new set bonus on relics or whatever seems like it might work, but I read I can only level the relic based on the content I did. If I get a piece in PVP, then I can only level in PVP. This seems pretty stupid. Why not use the tech frags to buy the pieces and level them? Anyway, I did not mean to turn this into a novel or a major complaint. It really started as I am happy to be back and I'm really enjoying 6.3+, but with 7.0 on the horizon and how bad it looks this thread took a life of its own.
  15. Yep, I recently returned after a 2 year hiatus and had to gear up my 26 characters. I play solo, so each week I go to all 26 characters to get 50K conquest points, so I can get the tech frags to gear up. If they double the number of conquest points that will not be possible. Limiting the weeklies from carry over also impact strategies to get Conquest points quickly, which will make it even harder to hit the Conquest points for each character. I guess we will see how it goes, but I am not a fan of this change and if it goes the way I suspect then I will just unsubscribe again.
  16. I know you can buy a consumable to start a new character and level to 70 or so. Is there a consumable that will do that for a character that is inflight?
  17. Curious if Dark v. Light armor, an XP bonus consumable, and the 2XP event all stack. Anyone know?
