  1. Hi everyone - jumping in after 2+ years away has me feeling a bit overwhelmed. Last time I played the cap level was 55 If anyone has any general advice for a returning player, including how to optimally gear (and make credits?) as I close in on 70. Also, I noticed I was given a free level 60 character which is cool (although it was a bit strange that he was pre-created for me - is it normal for these free characters to not permit you choice of which class, name or appearance.? Anyway, the free character is a guardian so I suppose i'll ask how is guardian/jugg DPS in PVE and PVP? I also have my merc still at 55 that i'd curious if he's worth leveling as well? Anyway feedback is appreciated TY
  2. Well i'm sorry my post failed to reach your standard of "credibility". But in all seriousness, I realize that Biowares lack of interest in SWTOR stems from corporate policies.. and that's most likely because the game was considered a flop and therefore lost hope for alot of future funding. I disagree with all dev teams getting the same grief just because it's an MMO... only time will tell with ESO but so far the reason i would say it has no chance of flopping like SWTOR is because of the sustainable immersion with crafting/pvp/pve etc. SWTOR was great until you hit 50. Sure, if you go on any MMO forums you're bound to find gripers but SWTOR definately gets alot more than most and sadly that's well deserved...
  3. Agreed, but it's hollow words. Eric Musco and the rest of the dev team don't give a **** about this game - they are just trying to sink up the rest of the $$ they can get with micro transactions before they pull the plug. Still though.. you'd think they would at least put in the effort to bring some fresh designs to the game... cause it's pretty obvious they aren't doing much else.
  4. You're most likely hearing that because it's true. Hey, if people still enjoy SWTOR for what it's worth then good for them.. to each is own... but to actually believe that ESO won't put a serious dent into SWTOR is just foolish. People saying that either 1. haven't played the game, or 2. Are too attached/fanboyed to admit the reality, that this game really shouldn't have been an MMORPG because it cannot sustain long term play-ability. ESO is actually very, very impressive and i say that non- bias as someone who has dug into alot of MMOs. Here's some things that ESO has that SWTOR does NOT: 1) Very unique skill/combat system - any class can go in pretty much any direction, there is no cut and dry class based linear gameplay. 2) Crafting is remarkable better, itemization in general really 3) PVP DONE RIGHT. can't stress this enough. If you don't believe me just check out some of the live feeds on twitch. You honestly can't even compare it with the PVP (or lack of) in this game. 4) and lastly... most importantly... a dev team that actually gives a ****, unlike bioware whom can't seem to pop out more than one minor update per month and it usually contains reskinned cartel packs or other ways to slurp up the rest of your $$ with micro transactions before this game reaches it's not-so-distant doom. Call me a troll all you want, but it's the truth. SWTOR has no future.
  5. [insert silent pause] Okay then.
  6. If you're planning on going DPS, Merc is the way to go in my opinion. Solid damage, big burst, has the ability to be heavily self-reliant. Powertech DPS has it's issues. Powertechs can tank though. And they can be damn good ones. Merc's can heal also. So it really depends what you are trying to do. Hope that helps.
  7. It feels abandoned because it is. Anyone disagreeing with that statement are just those whom still have interest in the game and/or don't want to see all their time and involvement wasted. TOR survives solely on the cartel market and it's lackluster items. New content, bug fixes and overall quality and efficiency is way, way lacking in comparison with most MMOs. Especially ones with the budget similar to SWTOR. The reality is, in my opinion, this game, for the most part, is considered a industry flop by EAware. Does it still generate profit? Perhaps, but likely nowhere near where they envisioned. I'd imagine this game is considered more of a burden than a blessing to EA. Could be a matter of time before they start making moves to wrap it up. That's just my opinion based strictly on the ethics of business and economics, and has nothing to do with my personal grudges with TOR. That being said, this game is not awful. But the long-term player sustainability is.
  8. This, as well as the continuation of extremely poorly made cartel items being priced for a STUPID amount of $.
  9. Well, that's what happens when Bioware decides to spend all of their Cartel Coin revenue on coke and $trippers instead of improving the game.
  10. /honestOpinion Is it awful? No, but GSF does lack the same thing that everything else in this game does, and that's immersion. Don't get me wrong i enjoy a couple matches, but i find myself very underwhelmed considering how much this was hyped up by BW. the "SSSP" being talked about practically since a few months post launch. Although the ship customization is a bit more intricate than everything else (Crafting, player gearing), i still find myself thinking it is pretty lackluster compared to other MMOs. Bugs are pretty bad too, for me at least, joining matches that end in 5 seconds and getting forced into space before the que even pops, then having to reload it again. I feel it should be much more polished for the amount of time and hype that was put into it. But that's the thing about SWTOR, it's a great game until you spend a good amount of time in it, and when all those pretty colors fade you start to see how bleak the game can really be
  11. This is the forums. don't post **** if you don't expect other responses. Which you will, because it sounds like you need some correcting.
  12. Not once did i ever compare SWG to TOR regarding which game is better. They are completely different. All i said was that SWG had far more depth. You seem to be overly offended about having these two games used in the same sentence. "great MMOs don't just fold like that" I'll let you in on a bit of knowledge since you seem to have left yours at home.. SWG ended after 8 years which is actually a decent life span for an MMO. Game come to an inevitable end, just like TOR will (would be very, very suprised if it gets anywhere close to 8 years.) That being said, i enjoy both games or else i wouldn't be on the forums. But it sounds like you need to chill out because half of your rant wasn't even warranted to what i was saying.
  13. hahaha go home OP, better luck next time
  14. Obviously didn't play Galaxies. I'll agree that this game won't ever have the features of SWG because galaxies was sandbox. But to say Galaxies wasn't great is foolish. As far as depth goes, SWG takes a fat **** on TOR.
  15. It seems a majority of players have the same common misconception that stacking 0 crit is optimal. This is not true. The best way to think of optimizing crit is a 100 to 10 ration between power and crit. (I.E. if your power is 1400, you want to stack about 140) crit. You will see an overall DPS increase with this. Surge - ~70%-72%. Give or take a little bit. Accuracy - Optimally you want 100% range and 110% tech. get as close to that as possible. Although, keep in mind if you do some mod swapping and your accuracy comes out to something like 99.8%, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
  16. I'm just going to set this trash can right here for everyone to throw that useless title that has completely disrespected the long time player base in.
  17. Oh please, just because it's in the patch notes doesn't mean it's justified as a fair warning. I bet a large percentage of players don't even bother to read the patch notes. If they plan on keeping the same kingpin once per week, the only logical thing to do is make it UNAVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE once you've completed it.
  18. Yeah, the ability to purchase the same one in a week needs to be taken away or this will keep happening
  19. If i'm not mistaken, kingpins can be completed once a day per character. However, you cannot complete the same kingpin twice in a week. There is no forewarning of this in the game, and the ability to purchase the same kingpin is still available, except it eats your contracts. Can we please get a bug fix on this? it's awfully frustrating wasting 5 contracts on a silly thing like this.
  20. My guess is you are confusing Heatseeker with another ability if it's hitting for 3k. With the proper tracer stacks i usually get 9 - 11.5k Heatseeker crits
  21. Even speaking hypothetically, we really just don't know enough about the SSSP to debate OP's question. Depending on how in depth this new system is, I would most likely see this being the next expansion and therefore charging ~$20 to purchase. I would hope this is the case - if BW is looking at it as being worthy of an expansion, then it must be an extensive modification to the SWTOR's space system.
  22. Did you hear that Sargent? He assures us! That's all the proof we need. LET THE BAN HAMMER RAIN DOWN ON THEE
  23. Agreed, Gault and Skadge basically invite themselves aboard your ship for the long haul which was a bit aggravating. Although i actually like having Gault aboard my ship, if any BH companion fits, it's Gault. I'd still pay my monthly 500 CC to tell Skadge to **** off
