  1. I expected an mmorpg, i got a linear pseudo-kotor wannabe with mmo aspirations, boring skilless pvp and repetitive pve. I think we don't expect enough these days, this is a B2P game with a subs fee....for that i expect a LOT more considering the amount of F2P games out there that are better than SWTOR in every department. My biggest annoyance is i can't play SWG anymore thanks to this pos replacing it.
  2. If you have a better GPU than me then you haev an unfair advantage, same with connection so we'll all have to use exactly the same rigs with exactly the same connections. This being said loaction and latency are also factors so we all need to move to Ireland to eliminate those elements of competitive advantage.
  3. I assume you have no voice comms, no gamepad, no friends but do have a 7 button mouse, right? How about we all regress to 1995 and play on 28k dial-up?
  4. When your facing 6 hour queues to play....thats ok to you? The problem is more the size of the max server population which seems to be very small and as such it's easily effected by player movements. There are better ways to deal with server queues, one way would have been to mirror servers, so you might be on Red Eclipse 3 today, Red Eclipse 2 tomorrow but your still on Red Eclipse. Then when the population falls, which is INEVITABLE, it's a simple fact of mmo releases, you let the population boil down to it's realistic subs levels to fit the single server. What they did was panic, open a load of new servers, encourage players to reroll and didn't think of the consequences. They had no plan to address the 1-3 month subs drop-off. This is hard to forgive as it's pretty standard with new mmo releases like this one. Bioware caused this problem, it's up to them to fix it.
  5. Unsubbed a few days ago, still have 40+ days to play. My main reasons would be: 1- Too little too late, i have my main still stranded on a dead server, i have rerolled twice now and really see the delay on transfers to be a constant irritation. On my original server many players simply quit, they didn't reroll because they already had high legacy chars with BM mains. Why redo all the same content again? Can't blame them. 2- PvP. My main gripe, while i enjoy the warzones it's too rerptitive and having played lvl 50 WZ's for a while every encounter is pretty much a forgone conclusion, there is no challenge and no skill whatsoever involved in this game pvp wise. While i realise very few mmorpg's pvp involves any skill, they circumvent this with objectives and things to strive for, when you can hit BM in a week, no open world pvp and only 4 WZ's to play ad-nauseum, there really is nothing else to keep people playing. 3- Nerfs and boosts. Im sick of seeing Bioware cave to public pressure blindly overnerfing and overboosting classes. This is what destroyed DAoC and Warhammer. Fix the problem, don't blindly nerf things with no consideration as to how it effects the whole synergy of the game dynamics. 4- Bordom. There is just nothing to do for me anymore, the Rakghoul event was great, but ended abruptly and that was that, back to the humdrum of daily missions. Get a few chars to 50, complete all the storyline missions, get a few to BM, complete all of the classes companions missions, complete all the codex unlocks a few times, do all the end-game ops/hm's a few times and then thats it. It's quite a bit of content, but it's easy in an organised guild to play through it without even really trying. These days i log in, stare at the screen for a few minutes and just log out again. 5- Exclusivity. This is something im really annoyed about, the "end-game" raiding (ops) is exactly the same as every other mmorpg, it's limited to a small percentage of the playerbase and most players will simply NEVER get the chance to see any of this content. You need good gear to get started, you need groups to get this gear and progress through to better gear for higher ops, unless you are in a good guild and part of their core raiding team you'll never get anywhere.
  6. GW2 is not pure pvp, get your facts straight. The rest of your post is part garbage part gibberish.
  7. Never seen or heard of this before, thanks for posting!
  8. Loss of bladder control is no laughing matter, incontinence is serious business.
  9. This "logic" only works if all classes have an equal amount of CC....thats not the case, not by a long shot. Not every class has a knockback for example. As for the rest of your comments, they just bear no resemblance to how the game works....i wonder if you have even tried pvp to make such remarks?
  10. Rates Warzones coming "soon" to a server near you (maybe....tm).
  11. Either your not 50, your wearing crap gear or DPS gear or simply need to take some time to consider your spec and abilities....or your the a-typical shadow kinetic DPS "tank"...which is not a real tank. No op can drop my immortal jugger (a real tank) in under 5 seconds, im not saying they don't hurt, because they do, but i usually win 1v1 vs ops/smugs because immortal juggs are the masters of lockdown and once an op has burnt their openers, they are dead meat unless they can stealth-escape. Even then they can only come back and try again, which they sometimes do and then it's often quite a good fight to the death. Bottom line, don't nerf ops, give them some loving, poor one-trick ponies need love too
  12. It doesn't take months of grinding to get BM and how can you consider faction domination to be a realistic aim in a game with only two factions where most players play both sides and can switch ad-nauseum to the side thats currently winning (a-la Warhammer) and has no balancing mechanics for faction population? Open world pvp doesn't work with 2 factions unless you limit participating numbers or instance it, at either point it ceases to be open world. Pre-1.2 Ilum is a prime example of how bad it can be.
  13. For Juggers it's in the immotal tree, Force Grip.
  14. Large WZ numbers often means you aren't killing much and there is a lot of healing/guarding going on. It does not necessarily mean you are any good at pvp, it can mean you suck because you simply cannot kill anything (which seems to be the case if you healers are putting up similar numbers, hint, stop hitting the tanks, try killing the healers) and if your doing nothing but DPS epeen-massaging, are you capping objectives? Im sure most lolsmashers won't understand but some will.
  15. Your absolutely right and I think people need to stop getting hung up on this, it doesn't hurt the community as such, it just doesn't do anything to help build a community in a relatively new game with players still shuffling around servers looking for permanent homes (rerollers, new players resubers and soon transfers). People quoting WoW need to remeber the game was something like 7 years old before the x-server LFG tool appeared, the communities were well established by this time, in particular the main guilds. Cross server queueing works, but it does nothing to help a community establish itself. Simpy put, it's arguably too early for SWTOR however, many SWTOR servers seem to be devoid of any kind of community so far. There are many arguments as to why this may be the case, playerbase is still new, players moving servers still, a lot of guilds for a small amount of players, limited communal open world zones or the single player game argument. It has also been raised that modern mmorpg's don't generate these types of communities anymore, this to me is a very realistic possibility as the instant gratification generation probably doesn't lend itself well to the old style mmorpg community model.
  16. Eh? I don't see anyone speedhacking....
  17. I use a crappy cheap-o 2-button mouse, but i use this in my left hand and have gamed happily this way for many years now http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=390404
  18. This is excellent advise, i agree completely.
  19. Legacy changed nothing regarding end game, they did intorduce a new flashpoint/op/WZ in 1.2 plus some new shiney gear to grind for, but thats about it. End game pve remains boring and limited to a small fraction of the population. End game pvp....well, there is no end game pvp. It's just more WZ's and gear to grind for since they failed to implement Rated WZ's in 1.2. We'll know more once the rateds are in and if they decide to revisit open world pvp again, but until then it's a bit of a mystery as to what will constitute "end-game" pvp in the future.
  20. This is the real problem of course, the servers are splintered into instanced zones in the first place so finding players to group with on your own server is a tricky task at the best of times. I like the earlier idea of an option to queue for your own server or cross server, although i'll bet most will queue cross server because a lot of players want insta-pop instances. Still it'd be interresting to see what the reality of this would be.
  21. Why is that amusing? I want to meet players sure, but whats the point if your never going to see them again?
