  1. Thanks. It's gotten a little better, and I've dipped my toe into the pool of buying mats and selling product for a bit higher. Less raw profit but more steady stream. Could you break down that 22% crit chance you quoted? Or direct me to a guide, I didn't see one that went into hard numbers when I looked.
  2. Hey folks, So I recently began working on being a serious crafter for my guild and for profit. I'm making augments and did pretty well at it (I have more money than I've ever had and I'm fully augmented). In the last three days though my companions have failed over and over to get purple grade 11 slicing mats. Most of them are 8000+ affection and Risha has +1 crit slicing. Am I just hItting a dry spell? Is this normal? Is that 2000 affection really worth that much?
  3. You shouldn't be trying to take a node 1 v 1. That's called trying to be a solo hero and it's not how a team game is played.
  4. I like the part where they complained about needing to focus as a team to kill a healer... That's how it works. Focus fire the enemy healer before the enemy can focus fire yours. If a healer can't survive 1 dps what's the point of it?
  5. Isn't lowbie pvp going to be "unbalanced" no matter what? If you cut the brackets 30-49 and 50-59, then level 30's will just get mad about be trounced by level 49's. It's lowbies, its not suppose to be serious. Your daily gets done win or lose and you've got plenty of time to save comms for 60.
  6. Hate to tell you, it's really not gonna happen just like that. is running 20 minutes of dailies you can do in your sleep (or more importantly, while waiting in queue!) really that bad? Oh gamers, how we have fallen.
  7. *Sigh* This again? What you all want is a matchmaking system, which any pvp system should have. Not having one is probably one of the biggest fails in Swtor PvP. There are great PuG'ers and Great Premades... and there are terrible PuG's and Terrible Premades. The problem is when a team of mostly terrible pugs hits a good premade, they blame the premade for mythical advantages rather than the fact the premade just had better players. Get matchmaking in there so good players play good players, bads get to build sandcastles with bads, and almost everyone is happy.
  8. You really can't, but you can try. Sometimes it gets through, most of the time the player is just butt hurt that they lost and looking for any reason it's your fault. (you cheated, that's cheap, you stunlocked my keyboard). Try to tell them it's part of the game, other than that not much you can do other than to beat them repeatedly.
  9. Not an exploit. Some people probably think it's cheap. Those are called scrubs, and it's your job to educate them that nothing is unfair unless you're hacking.
  10. No, you are just god damned wrong. Read the damn article, the dev is talking about -full- battlegroups vs random ones, random one's be constructed of players queue'ing in groups of 1-5 and full battlegroups being atleast 6 or more players queuing. The entire article, dev post, and patch is in reference to oQueue and the patch fixed the super queue possible via it. Go on, read the bloody thing. It's not even about PuG's! It's about players abusing a system vs players who don't, and the fact being if you can organize the 15-30 people needed for each specific battleground you should be doing their rated version which is meant for that. Notice he didn't say "groups of 5 should go do rated" or "groups of five are unfair" because he can count and he knows groups of 5 =/= full battleground group (as is the requirement for rated). You try so, so hard to make the shoe fit and it just won't. Spin it all you like, but you're just wrong.
  11. Okay, was checking. We're in agreement about matchmaking and that it's hasn't fixed much in rift. Nothing more to see here.
  12. I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or not. Matchmaking > Solo-bracket?
  13. What about a matchmaking system that matches players of similar (skill, gear, win/loss, something!) level as much as possible, possibly even including queue type. Only after x time does it begin to create a "unfair match" though it continues to sort the teams as best it can. That way when pop's are high, you'll get pug vs pug, or atleast skill vs skill (maybe with a modifier for groups?) and when pops are low, no one has to sit out cause "omg they want to play with friends!" No, that couldn't possibly be a better solution, and damn those players with friends for actually being competitive in a *********** competition! Shall I let you get back to building sandcastles in my volleyball court?
  14. I would have preferred a: "I read the article and realized what you were talking about and you are correct." but... if this is you bowing out with grace I'll be happy to allow it. Till next time.
  15. Yeah... no. People who like the current situation are jerks, that's about it. Those that want a solo-only option are either scrubs or solo-hero's, People who want matchmaking could be bad, good, awesome, or blue... but they want equality.
  16. I'd like to see the posts by Premaders that don't want matchmaking. I realize it's hard to prove if someone does premade a lot or not, but almost any anti-matchmaking post I've seen have come from self-proclaimed solo casuals, and is generally in favor of a split queue (which is inferior in every way to matchmaking, since matchmaking can function 90% of the time as a split queue if needed). I'm not saying premaders are perfect, but to be honest the amount of anti-matchmaking thrown around by self proclaimed solo'ers leads me to believe there must be an ulterior motive there. Seeing as how I've seen posts where someone specifically said they like PuG's because 1 good player can carry the match, I put my money on it has something to do with loving being a solo-hero.
  17. Eh... go to that big thread about premades and ruining things... Go find me a "Premader" who is against matchmaking and/or any system change at all. Go on, I'll wait. Then you can come back, apologize, and support matchmaking or go cry in a corner.
  18. Don't expect a decent answer. As far as I can tell, the anti-matchmaking camp falls into two categories: Scrubs: These players honestly believe there is something magical about premades, and that those using them are clearly dishonorable or cheating. No amount of logic or reasoning can persuade them that a PuG could ever rival a 4-man (or the fictional ever present 8-man exploiters!). These players may even have fairly decent individual skill, but are held back by their mano-e-mano (sure that's spelled wrong) attitude and scrub mentality. Solo Hero: This player knows his/her stuff, and knows Premades aren't all that magical. However, they prefer solo and they prefer playing against players worse than them. Matchmaking, though helping keep better players off their back, also means they won't be matched against sucky players. Without a pool of terrible players to fight, they can't pull of ninja-caps, node steals, and solo huttball runs which is what they crave. Can't really see any other explanation, since matchmaking can (and maybe should) even include queue type, or other amendments to keep the battlefield even more equal.
  19. I'll wait for the evidence there's a solo (or even a 1-2) special queue. In the mean time, the fact doesn't remain Blizzard blah blah blah. The only article of Blizzard fixing anything like it is Blizzard fixing the abuse caused by oQueue. They haven't and won't speak against people grouping within their acceptable parameters.
  20. Wow. A Period! and a /THREAD. Guess that settles that... There is another answer for the lopsided matches that exist today. It's called matchmaking, and I think I've heard just about every lame excuse against matchmaking (and for a split queue) there is in the book. None of them can hold any water. Give us matchmaking, and any legitimate complaint about "premades" pretty much dries up. Finally, if you feel you are being farmed, as long as the opposition isn't cheating (fyi, 4-man's aren't cheating) I suggest the problem lies in you.
  21. Sorry, couldn't stop laughing there. So in the entire industry of MMO's I see one MMO that's actually implemented a solo-only queue (actually, it's a 1-2 queue)... that one being Rift. We can't tell how well it's working on their subs since they don't have to publish their numbers. The trumpet "King of MMO's" WoW still doesn't have it from what I can tell... So where is your evidence it's going to happen? Also... if it's going to happen, why bother trying to discuss it. Just stop yapping, wait till it happens, then come back and say "I told you so!"
  22. Couple problems: Bolster was introduced to level 55 because they couldn't make recruit gear powerful enough to be competitive without breaking the first (and possibly second) tier of PvE end-game gear. On top of that, they couldn't force players to wear recruit, and many people sold or discarded theirs rather than use it. Second... Casual player doesn't mean solo players! Nice try, but that's another fallacy pushed by the solo-camp. Casual has nothing to do with queue type and everything to do with time available, attitude, preparation, etc... Casual =/= Solo. Finally, solo queue's don't make things competitive/fair. Only matchmaking will. I am rapidly becoming convince solo-only proponents have their own agenda... most likely feeling special cause they can take a node without fear of team-oriented players who actually call inc's and respond.
  23. And a full organized battleground group (in WoW) is 10+ people and only possible via oQueue, aka the Super-Queue. You can try and stretch it, but the shoe doesn't fit. That article is about an exploit/abuse of the system, not about people grouping up.
  24. Their post was specifically directed at the use of oQueue. Look it up, it's spelled oQueue for a reason. Now if you have some proof they split the queue's like that, I'd love to see it because I can't seem to find any. From what I can see their largest acceptable party is still their standard 5, and there is not solo-only queue. On a side not, it is kind of interesting right after their big "article" they dropped more subs then ever in a quarter.
