  1. tanking in this game is annoying, and im the tank for our 4/4 HM EC group. oh and btw im on master dar'nala SO many bosses have threat wipes which make tanks look bad when he turns around and almost kills ur dps in a single hit. SO many mobs stun as soon as the pull starts and then the mobs walk over and beat ur healer. Sometimes taunts dont actually work, use i have used taunt and for 6 seconds the mob is supposed to attack me and he just goes 1 second later im gonna hit that melee dps instead. And taunts are on a rather long cooldown. Threat drops from dps dont always work. We had a sentinel who did not even have threat use force camouflage just to keep his threat down only to have the boss turn around that instant and wack him as he popped out of stealth even though it is supposed to drop all threat. Most the mobs in this game are ranged and so many dps dont wanna focus targets. people will probably just say l2p however i never actually fail at doing at 1shotting HMs in its just hell annoying when things like that happen.
  2. meh we farm hm ec with 2 melee dps in our 8man group. can down it in 2hours easy. Melee do far superior dps to ranged but the tradeoff is they have to run out sometimes.
  3. seems easy enough, did it a couple nights ago on nightmare. Solo healed bonethrasher or whateva his name is hell easy. Jarg and Sorno same fight as always -> use 2 tanks, interrupt all heals and unload, heavy heals on the tank with the debuff (the other shouldnt take much damage during this phase as long as he interrupts unload asap)
  4. i started on my vanguard tanking HM EV and KP in champion supercommando gear, those ops are incredibly easy though especially since they got fixed (abilities such as lightning balls dont hit anywhere near as hard now) If you want to do damage in PvP whilst still being a tank and on the frontlines that doesnt die fast. Then you have to go for a few extra dmg talents and skip a couple of the reduced damage talents that you might of picked up as a PvE tank (i dont have extra endurance (3% of 2000 endurance is like 600hp) or the 2% reduced damage taken, instead opting for more damage) Those talents aren't neccessary for PvE and no im not squishy and im the main tank for our HM 4/4 EC group. my defensive stats are: 23.6k hp, 47% shield chance, 56% absorb 71% with relic passive proc and 16% defense chance. Now gear wise for pvp if you wish to do decent damage is to get the battlemaster/war hero combat tech or whatever one it was that gives a boost to your stockstrike being your highest source of damage, while keeping your shield generator on. generally a sticky grenade -> storm -> stockstrike -> energy blast (off the gcd) -> high impact bolt -> ion pulse spam does a fair amount of damage this way. just remember to keep an eye on ammo and ammo cooldowns.
  5. no but it does interrupt, you can heal yourself in this time and when you resume attacking theran will continue to heal you for a bit. Generally what i think he did was hit the first son and when holiday stunned him, used a heal as to wait for therans heals to come off cd and resume the attack. Alternatively i just used Zenith and pummeled the first, interrupting only collapse cavern. When i was low i ran beind the rocks by the entrance and used 2 big heals and force armor and continued to kill him, i rinsed and repeated that.
  6. if he did 24.8k dmg to you in 10 seconds, im guessing you stood there for 10 seconds for him to hit you. If hes pyro spec hes got 0 gap closers except for a 45 second cooldown harpoon which does not work if you have resolve and does put some resolve on you. If he gets close just use force slow and force speed way, dot him up and chuck out some damage. When he gets closer follow with a force stun, reapply dots and run away a bit more and reapply force slow off cooldown. He still hasnt caught you and has barely managed to break your shield with his ranged attacks, continue to pummel him. As he gets close force wave/overload and reapply force slow, run behind a pillar and chuck a heal on yourself if needed. then kill him. and there you have a dead pyro PT who didnt get to do any damage and got *****. And yes i have both a lvl 50 vanguard and a lvl 50 sage in fact i have a lvl 50 sorc from US servers and i remade a lvl 50 sage on oceanic servers. i have found with vanguard the people who fight me best are the ones who keep me away from them, as i have to be in melee to do my burst and 10m to do any kind of decent dps. Im BM rank on 3 chars and war hero on my vanguard so i have a little pvp experience.
  7. if you're good enough then most of them can be duo'd/3manned. ive heard of people doing HM kaon with a tank companion. Taral V is just plain easy, when we use a proper group for this our healer doesnt even have to heal, we just get him to dps and chuck an off heal every now and again its that easy. so im guessing with comps its possible. other than that why dont you try for yourself? we can obviously tell you what we can do but we have no idea if you can do the same as us.
  8. if you mean the yellow reticle to debuff toth then the tank can just run over and use it. zorn does not move at all and nothing changes when the tank moves over.
  9. our shadow dps is irreplaceable in our 8man HM EC group. Just because our strats on zorn and toth and stormcaller and firebrand and warlord kephess call for our shadow dps to use a taunt. On zorn and toth when toth jumps our shadow taunts him asap back to the wall while the tank moves with toth and taunts when hes far away from zorn. preventing the drouks from getting their proximity buff. On stormcaller and firebrand he sits on the firebrand tank and just before incinerate armor is used on the tank he uses a taunt, getting the debuff on him then our tank taunts back and this way we never have to tank switch making this encounter incredibly easy for us even on hard mode we can 1shot it. On warlord kephess when the trandoshans come out our shadow will taunt the warrior and pull him away then kill it while our tanks pick up the trenchcutters and aoe them down.
  10. did this as a 45 sniper solo no probs, i used scorpio companion. didnt even need to use heroic moment which im guessing almost everybody forgets to use if something is too difficult for them.
  11. hello, my guild currently runs HM EC with 2 melee dps. We get them to stay on toth for most of the fight until he enrages, When this happens they run to the sage for aoe heals if needed and if not run over to zorn and dps for a little bit. Once the yellow reticle has been placed on toth and his beserk removed they go back to toth. IF you are not standing at max melee range you are liable to get hit by his cleave. Its easily avoided if you dont stand on him but rather just in range to use ur attacks. The stomp isn't so bad and is easily healed through. we never have a problem with our enrage and our melee dps actually top the charts on this fight currently.
  12. You must be doing something wrong. or you dont have a good group. When i do hard mode flashpoints, hm Taral V i can do in 15minutes (skipping the bonus boss) HM MP/D7 in 30 - 35 minutes (skipping bonus boss in D7), HM Esseles in 30minutes, HM Kaon under Siege in 40 - 45minutes. The ones that take a bit longer seem to be battle of ilum and false emperor HMs but i dont think they take me much over an hour. OPs generally take longer than an hour but thats because its nature is supposed to be hard for a large group of 8 or 16 people.
  13. You're playing it wrong. Warzones are not single player games, get team coordination. We have a sage whos much squishier than a commando and all we have to do to keep him alive is to guard and taunt while killing whatever is on him. With guard and taunt our sage takes (100 - 5 - 50) / 0.3 = 30% damage.
  14. you didn't stay at max alignment and to fix it just go run black talon and choose dark side options again.
