  1. I play multiple mmo's. I've dabbled in pretty much every major mmo released since wow. Still playing wow, and it's still my number 1 game. Why? Because I'm somehow unable to play new games? No, it's because wow does what other games aspire to do: It presents polished pve content that can be done by either hardcore players or people logging on once a week. No matter what you want to do, there are ways of developing your character further, and if I want to play with a group, I can literally do so instantly. I click a button queuing for whatever dungeon I want as a tank, bam, the dungeon is ready. So yeah, you can go on thinking you're somehow more mature as a gamer than me, and I'll keep on playing a game while you stand in fleet.
  2. They do, it's called the unsubscribe button. I hit it, you can to.
  3. Because they don't have the technology. They were unable to implement automatic transfers in time for the APAC players, every single transfer was done manually.
  4. I've given them enough time through a subscription. Now I'm happy to give them all the time in the world. They can take a month or a decade to turn this game into something successful, I however will no longer be paying them before they do.
  5. The reason for blizzard's pricing model is to compete with the pricing structures of other mmo's available in china. The reason for tor's model in EU is the same. Now, if the greeks destroy the world's economy like it appears they will, then a price drop will be justified. So to the op, maybe come back in 6 months?
  6. Here you go: http://www.warcraftrealms.com/activity.php?serverid=-1 Isn't it neat what players can do when they're embraced by the designers of the game and allowed to use their skills to build it up
  7. It's disappointing because if you want to make a by the numbers rpg, you need to include all the numbers, not just the easy ones. Making a by the numbers rpg that's at the same level of games released 6 years ago doesn't cut it any more in today's mmo market
  8. Here's the info. If they didn't, you'd have a couple of billion credits hit the economy. Pretty cut and dry
  9. It's an annoyance, but can easily be overcome. Just reroll on an AP server. Your pings are going to be no worse than AP players in any other mmo, and we do ok.
  10. Thanks Paralli. A quick question, given that it's ok to discuss exploits in general. Has this policy recently been changed or are you simply reiterating the standing policies? The reason I ask is that SWTOR has developed a reputation for extremely lax punishments for identified exploiters among the exploit community. I was wondering if anything has been changed to stop this?
  11. -Originating server: The Jekk Jekk Tarr -Destination Server: Dalborra -Name of Characters: Malekus, Calladus -Specific Issues: In both Google Chrome & IE9 The form is greyed out, none of my characters are displayed and I cannot click on any buttons.
  12. Fair enough, however if the op is dying on sullut, he's also not spinning
  13. Watched 30 seconds of your mission. You're not spinning your ship- your ship needs to be constantly rotating or you're going to die. Simple trick and it will make every mission a cake walk for you
  14. Which is why BW have removed the chance of this occuring by making the combat log group wide. Tools are useless in mmo's if they can simply be lied about, if it was a personal dps meter people would just go back to discriminating against players based on gear. I feel it's largely a moot point. I've never experienced being kicked for my dps on any of my characters. My main game (wow) has dps meters pretty much as a built in feature now days. Not once have I ever been removed from group. Reason being I know my class (even the alts), I stick with my rotations and I know the fights. Turns out having 10 extra strength or what not doesn't really matter, the poor players always get noticed no matter their gear
  15. Here's a follow on from your most logical post op. 1) Bioware have implemented party combat logs in 1.2 2) Therefore, people who don't want combat logs will need to group together It's very elegant, you don't normally see 1 premise and 1 conclusion in symbolic logic
  16. I smiled at your quaint assumption I go ls on my characters now just to troll pugs (well, actually, I do it because the ds choices near end game are just saturday morning cartoon villain levels of stupid) I've spent far too much time on wookipedia lately, but if I recall isn't that because Darth never used to be a special title? The actually impressive bit was the "lord" title, darth was just something some sith liked to tack on to their name
  17. I've played quite a few (only ones I'm missing are jugg and powertech) Sorc- a bit bland for my tastes. Plays like a lock in wow, but lacks that certain "oomf". Nothing they do really makes you feel like a ****** (though force storm is the best animation in the game) Sin- Not bad. Combat animations get a little samey, stealth is quite difficult in this game, but definitely my number 2. Would have probably been number 1 if they were allowed to wear pants. Rauder- Favourite by far. Lots of mobility, all the specs feel quite unique and the animations are great. Also they tear things up from a min-max point of view Sniper- Nice and bursty, but very slow. I couldn't stand crouching, shooting, getting up, looting for every pack. Also the animations are pretty crap. Operative- Very fun, nice rotation, but again the animations did it for me. They only have about 3, and they all involve stabbing someone. Shiv has the best sound effect in mmo history though. Merc- Has lots of style, powerful abilities, but the rotation is a snooze fest. Sorry, if I wanted to raid with three buttons I'd roll an arcane mage in wow.
  18. Eh, I don't see how either groups do it, clicker or binder. After playing with a g13 for a few months, the thought of using a keyboard fills me with dread
  19. - They are testing hard-core progression raids - As an unguilded player, the chances of you currently being a hardcore progression raider are pretty slim - Therefore, only hardcore progression guilds are getting transferred
  20. EA/Bioware would have their share price less effected if they announced a 50% drop in subscriber numbers. Population drops are recoverable, server transfers are not. At a guess, I'd say bioware are more likely to implement paid transfers then wash their hands of the situation
  21. You retain the speeders (alignment requirement is only to buy the speeder initially) but lose the titles
  22. You can never lose a companion in TOR. However if you don't take the collar off vette her affection will cap at a quite low level, which means you'll miss out on all the companion related quests and it will affect her noticeably if you use her for professions
  23. It's personal preference to a point. Nobody could possibly think that smuggler helmet looks good. Not the players, not the artist that drew it. No-one goes "you know what a han solo based character needs? a hammerhead shark on its head"
