  1. I'm going to stay subbed, but i downgraded to monthly a long time ago. A combination of boredom with content and irritation with bugs is really setting in. I'm going to give 1.2 a fair shake, but its the make or break patch imho.
  2. Disappointing. I like macro's. Simplifies my life. I don't like casting sequence macro systems that reduce the game to smashing 1-2 buttons, but there are sometimes things that would be nice to be able to combine together. Also the "score one for the good guys" response is ridiculous. People that want macros / combat logs / add-ons / (thing that you don't want) aren't "the bad guys". They are people that want to play the game in a different manner than you do. Doesn't make you right or them wrong, or them right and you wrong. It means that you both want to play differently. What bioware should be doing is enabling both groups to do as they wish. But, ya know, with such a polished game, they can afford to further alienate people by small increments. Now excuse me, i'm off to go see if Defending the Shipment is working today, or if the bad coding that allows ******s to ruin it for others is still there.
  3. It's affecting me too, and its really really irritating to see that it's back . I thought this was in the "solved" file.
  4. Fix bugs. Avoid nerf/buff see-saw. They've done decent at this so far, but the incoming mysterious BH nerf has me a little concerned when phrases like "balancing to bring X in line with Y" are bandied about. Make the game more user-friendly / approachable from an interface standpoint. Honorable mention, focus on 50+ PVE / PVP. On a long enough timeline, this is where an ever-increasing portion of your population lands.
  5. The official quote was something along the lines of "What makes a wookie so cool is the mystery behind them: if you can play them that goes away!" Which i call shenanigans on. What makes a wookie cool is its a 8 foot tall mass of fur, fangs, and fury, that rips off peoples arms and beats them to death them when they lose at holo-chess. And ya know Wookie roars. And bowcasters. And everything else about them, other than some cryptic sense of mystery.
  6. Another way to put this is "some people have high expectations". Which is far less inflammatory, and should be true for a game you paid an initial net deposit for access to, and then a running subscription. I expect quality out of a game i pay 50-60 bucks initially for, and then 15 a month. Because there are other games out there that deliver quality for the same or less cost range, and there are new games coming out all the time that might. I don't think this is a bad thing.
  7. I knew it wouldn't be long before the nerf-buff see saw began. Irritating. That said, i'm having a hard time wrapping my head around most of the usual suspects for nerfs. 1) DFA - yes, great damage. Also a delay time, which anyone with half a brain that is looking at the ground can avoid all but about 1 tick of the damage. Great in PVE, or in situations where you take someone by surprise. An opponent paying attention just has to interrupt. or move. 2) Merc Arsenal DPS - tracer missile. Yes it does lots of damage. Yes its a good ability. Its interruptable for one thing, and for another, if its such a problem, why the hell is just about every stack / dps buff / a bunch of skills / OUR GEAR SET 1ST TIER BONUS all focused on tracer missile ? This is a frankenstein of their own creation. Realistically i use tracer probably more than any other single skill, but not to the level that most people complain about. My rotation looks something like: (begin fight) Tracer x 3 (for stacks) Heat Seeking Rail Shot (If heat high, then i'll probably RFS, if heat low, Unload) (Whatever wasn't done above, i'll repeat) Pop Cooldown for next ability is no heat (forget the name) At this point i've usually taken aggro, so chaff flare - if i dont have aggro, Tracer x 2 unload tracer x 1 heat rail At this point i usually start interleaving RFS in between abilities to keep heat around 40% until i'm ready to blow vent heat - at which point i spam tracer to 5 stacks, blow heatseeking, blow rail shot, then unload, then if there's any room left to about 90 heat, another tracer. Vent. Restart. It's not an overwhelming amount. Spamming tracer like people allude to leads to overheating very quickly, and massive DPS loss over an entire boss fight. Its simply not sustainable, even with all the mitigation skills selected. And exactly what are we supposed to switch to if they nerfbat tracer missile damage ? Power shot ? 3) Mercs don't have an interrupt. Some may say "well that is irrelevant", but its not. DPS BH's could make big use of an interrupt and bring more to a raid, etc. 4) Bodyguard mercs - honestly, i can't see anything that is "BS" or "OP" here . They are definitely good, but not up to sorc levels. The guys i run hardmodes with uses a merc bodyguard as our main healer, and he does a great job, but its not like its easy mode - i sometimes, on hard fights, have to jump in with a spot heal here or there, etc. or a medpac if i grab aggro. I can't see whats BS here. 5) Pyro spec - i really cant speak to this, i haven't played with it enough. My understanding is that the burst is good, and its a good PVP spec, but not ideal for PVE. Yes / No / Maybe ? I'd really like to know what it is they are going to tone down.
  8. Agent operative is the closest thing she resembles.
  9. No contest. Republic's Most Wanted.
  10. Can't confirm, but if that's true, there are some very cool possibilities.
  11. Death from above is not instant. There is a delay. It is also a channel. L2Interrupt. The republic version is not instant either, but neither is there a two second delay as claimed. When either AOE pops, if you instantly begin moving, you will get out of it after a tick of damage with no speed bump (if its centered on you - if its unevenly placed, and you go towards the nearest edge, you can avoid damage altogether).
  12. Perfect summation of how i feel. In Rift, crafting did the same thing: gave you entry level end game gear (and some of it could last quite a while! the rogue leather deathbringer armor and ring could last you into hammerknell). I don't understand the decision to make crafting gear superior to raiding...... (and yes, i realize the time sunk into it). Crafting is hitting a couple of buttons and waiting, and hoping the RNG goes your way on RE. It seems kind of counter intuitive.. particularly when we know that eventually the pendulum will swing back the other way (with superior end game stuff in a future patch). Complement, don't compete.
  13. This is very well said, and sums up my opinion. Rift was alllll about endgame. I spent exponentially more time on endgame content than i did leveling. The end game in SWTOR is ... decent. But it's not the engrossing experience of some other MMO's. After a couple pieces of hardmode gear, you can run most of them except a couple. The fights aren't materially different in most aspects, its pretty much 1-2 more mechanics to watch for, no different strat, more hp / more damage output. This game is much more about the journey than the destination. Whether this is good or not depends on PoV. I personally will always spend more time on endgame than leveling, so id prefer a more robust endgame....
