  1. I'm actually kind of glad. The amount of bugs, logical inconsistencies such as cheating on your companion in front of him/her without their affection going down, lack of class story content (not this short 2 mission stuff from SOR), and the list goes on.... Don't get me wrong. I love Star Wars to death. I've been a fan of it since Episode 4 (less so since Phantom Menace...but that's a different discussion;)) came out and have a ton of SW decorations in my room that are with me to this day. However, I feel that from what we've seen so far from TOR, it's been a slap in the face to the greatness of Star Wars. I'm very glad this game is just using the license and not actually shaping Star Wars canon. Going to take a break from this game from now after being a subscriber since day 1, but I hope to return one day with a much more optimistic outlook. Cheers.
  2. I can assure you that 95% of the reason they did this was because of budget. Somebody in their senior management told them their margins were too low and it wasn't acceptable to their shareholders, so they had to take a hit on something, and they figured the least objectionable would be in their VO. (Also, to the other poster that said that dailies are rarely VO except in Makeb....that simply is not true. They are all over the lvl 1-50 zones. In fact I just did one on my Republic Jedi in Nar Shadaa not too long ago.) Although I think putting back in class stories was definitely the right move (albeit short), the fact they cut out the VO in the daily quests seems to suggest that at this point, the company's management seems to care more about milking every last drop of this player base-because they know this game is starting to become less profitable and it's just a matter of time before this train crashes completely. When they decided to do put together the GSF project (which I think was one of their smoothest projects), but then decided to stop working on it because the CM didn't generate as much revenue as they were hoping, this sort of shows you the new approach this company is taking.
  3. I don't get it; I married most of my companions (Trooper, Jedi Knight, and Scoundrel). Then in this new Xpac, I flirt and eventually kiss Theron. Why does my companion's affection not go down?
  4. I guess this is where we have to agree to disagree. Since day 1, I've been a sub because SWTOR was one of the most immersive MMO's that I've played (plus the fact that it's freagin Star Wars!). However, it seems like when people were complaining about tedious conversations, instead of just adding a button to skip, they got rid of them entirely-at least for the side quests. It seems now they're definitely going in the wrong direction. I think my days with SWTOR are numbered.
  5. Just noticed that as I was questing and picking up missions, the quest givers only spoke in a written script-like in WOW. Is this the beginning of the end of voice-overs? If so, things are looking quite bleak for SWTOR's future.
  6. I did say "it appears" in the title of my post right? Just asked some of my guildies and 3 of them are noticing the same thing. Guess it is just RNG though. I mean, Bioware never screws up their patches on live environments right?
  7. Ever since their patch a couple days ago, I've noticed a drastic change when I send out my characters. They no hardly ever bring back rare missions and schematics...just as if you were playing F2P. My brother who plays this game also mentioned the same exact thing.
  8. I'm wonder if this is the time to go FTP. The only 2 major drawbacks that I see are no ingame mail and a credit cap limit.
  9. I totally disagree. F2P players support the game just as much as subscribers. If they didn't, why did the developers spend almost a year trying to make this game F2P? They may not pay $15/month, but they buy a lot of stuff from the Cartel Market because gameplay is gimped so much they have to buy off the CM just to afford basic features. They deserve to have at least some minimal level of customer support. Consider this: I bought a 5500 cartel coin pack from Amazon for a friend and he tried to redeem the code and only got 2400 coins. When he called customer service, they basically told him to get lost because he wasn't a subscriber. You really think only subscribers should be able to get help in those cases??? The idea that Bioware Austin can design a game that has flaws on almost every level (engine, UI, billing...and during one of the Cantina events, one of their employees that was about to leave the company called it "swiss cheese built on sand") and then say nobody can basic customer support unless they're a sub is ludicrous IMO.
  10. That only works if you're a sub though. My two children are FTP. Guess they'll have to subscribe to submit a ticket.
  11. Log out while you're in a friend's stronghold that is cluttered with decorations. You won't be able to log back in. I gave up after waiting an hour and a half.
  12. Here's an idea. A GSF BG where there are 1-2 guild ships where each guild member has turret control, repair duties, and/or navigation. Throw in the regular GSF fighters as well. First team to take out a capital ship wins. Guild members get extra prestige. Let me know what you think.
  13. Well, now that we know SWTOR isn't cannon. There goes by sub. I won't be renewing...or playing after today. Farewell all.
  14. So now that we know Bioware is basically letting GSF go the way of the old starfighter mini game on rails, I'm guessing all we're going to see from now on is ship reskins?
  15. I hate to break it to you, because I'm a huge fan of GSF and gave up the ground game for it. But basically what Eric is saying is this: "GSF did not generate the amount of participants we were hoping for, and nobody bought any of the new ships or custom parts from the CM, therefore, we are going to park this thing because it's simply not worth the investment. We won't make any new maps nor any new ships. But instead, to keep the existing player base happy, we'll reskin a bunch of ships and hope they stay happy. But GSF will go the way of the dodo just like the space missions on rails."
  16. I'm actually more annoyed at the fact that prior to any of this, they said that once the cartel packs were embargoed, these items would not be available ever again, creating a false sense or urgency to buy the cartel packs right away. For a while that was the case-up until now. I will give them a pass on the Shipment 1 packs, since they claimed it was due to Collections not beginning functional when the Shipment 1 packs were out. But now, they release the Grand Acquisitions pack where you can get basically whole armor sets? I burned a tons of CC and spent a lot of credits trying to acquire these hard to find items, like Revan's Armor- and now they just serve it up on a silver platter-whole armor sets!!. This smells of Bioware trying to milk every one of its customers-even if it means grossly misleading its loyal subscriber base trying to please its shareholders at any cost. When I got double charged twice on my credit card twice, I let it slide even though their customer service told me "Your credit card mistake is a very small amount. Please do not get angry over such a small mistake. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about this <click, hangup>". Now I'm wondering if this kind of behavior extends to all the way down to Bioware Austin.
  17. It should either last longer or have 8x damage instead of 4x. At most, I can only one-shot 4-5 people at a time on my gunship. If the buff can be extended, I can probably take on the whole team at once. Please fix.
  18. They made GS way too fun. I don't even play the regular game now. Bioware did a really good job with GS-almost too good...
  19. So I've been noticing that my mailbox droid doesn't always pop-up when I open it, even though it gives me the debuff. Is this because accuracy affects this ability? My vanguard's accuracy is only at 75% so I'm wondering if this is somehow tied into it.
  20. I get the feeling the deception this time was deliberate. The confirmation I got was actually 5500 Cartel Coins for $20.00. Then I find out on my credit card statement 3 days later that they double billed it. I'm guessing they were hoping you wouldn't notice. This isn't the first time Bioware has taken people's money (inadvertently or fraudulently) Then you call customer service. Then they asked you to send an email to support@swtor.com. The email says call customer service. Then customer service tells you they don't handle billing issues, so they ask you to send an email. The cycle goes on....
  21. Sorry, didn't realize there were APAC people here and I certainly didn't know you would take it this personally; my bad. But I'm sure even you can agree that 10pm is better than 5pm your time.
  22. Remember those days? Pretty much everybody in my guild thought this: "What the hell were you thinking Bioware?" Even though I'm sure for some of us it's not where we want it to be yet, it's definitely come a long way.
  23. Great question. The way you do is it hold Shift and click the item and drag your mouse into another slot. It will give you a desirable quantity you want to break it into. Hope this helps.
  24. So where does your co-pilot go? Is he crammed in that what I assume to be the back of that dinky little starfighter? Hope he's not claustrophobic, cuz that space is smaller than the trunk of my sister's Yaris.
