  1. I don't know about dark gear since Ive been playing light side, plus haven't gone that far ahead in the game. But it would be really nice to have more appearance customization options, which would help with this. If we could color our existing gear, it would go a long way towards creating that "dark" jedi look, or any other type of look for that matter, since we could simply recolor our existing gear how we want. I would also like a "dark" look for my main, since she's a Shadow, and I always envisioned her wearing dark clothes, since it works with the stealthy look (plus I really like black ).
  2. ...and... This^ is pretty much how I feel about it. Its like a side game you can do in between regular mission to take a break from them, and also to gather additional money and XP if/when you need it. It could be improved, but I like it how it is already. In regards to comparisons with other space combat systems, I played Star Trek online for a bit and it offered some interesing options for space combat, but I kinda like this one better because its faster, less involved and less time consuming. Star Trek also uses a different approach, because space combat there seems to be a major feature of the game, with lots of important missions centered around space combat, while here is more like a supplement to regular missions. The space combat used here also has a more "Star Wars" feel to it than what they did in STO. When you move, you move like in the movies. STO space combat is more about space exploration and fightnig enemies along the way, which I suppose its more fitting to a game based on that particular IP. SWTOR space combat is about jumping into the fight and helping whichever side you're on achieve their objectives, then go back to regular ground missions. Which I think is fine for a Star Wars universe game if you want to retain the feel of the movies.
  3. Hmmm, another thread about whining about whiners? Ok, two more questions: 1) How many of these do we need a day? 2) Does anybody else see the irony on threads where people whine about the whining? Also, on topic... I think that the OP (and many others making similar points I have seen in other threads) seriously overestimate the weight posts from whiners have in any game company's decision making.
  4. This totally misses the point of the OP. The OP is asking for the ability to community cross-faction beyond being limited only to just /Say. Especifically, the ability to send tells or join custom channels, as well as allow full use of emotes. Before you post something, check if you're really replying to what the poster you're replying to said.
  5. You didn't even read the OP, did you? This thread has nothing to do with implementing/enforcing "special" RP rules--I dont even think that what the OP is asking is even useful only for RP'ers. But your disregard for RP concerns is noted (and I disagree with it, but topic for another day).
  6. Thing is I've also seen constructive criticism get bashed. It doesn't have to be a "moronic" thread/post for it to get that kind of treatment in these forums.
  7. This reminds me of someone's siggy: Its amazing how many people throw around the word entitled like they can dismiss whatever someone else is saying away by labeling it "entitled".
  8. This game could definitely use more appearance customization options (look at my sig for other threads on this issue, and that's just two of the more constructive or extensive Ive seen ). The pieces are already there, we just need them to be more accesible and less cumbersome to use.
  9. lol, I may have to check it out at some point now they have a 20 lv permanent trial to see what its like. Though, I been playing so many games lately with my limited time, it may take a while.
  10. I bought the dancer top and bottom pieces for my main (Twi'lek Consular/Shadow) at the special vendor (availble with the optional security key) and its pretty nice, but its a light armor.
  11. 90%* of everything people ask for is not a "need". But that still doesn't mean that it wouldn't be a good idea to add some of them. In this game in particular, its pretty sad that they pretty much have all these armor pieces in game already (not like we're asking them to add new stuff in that respect), but implement them in the most cumbersome, inflexible way posible. *made up figure that's probably not far from reality.
  12. Fortunately for me, I'm not a WoW player and only played WoW for a brief period of time before I decided it was not for me, so I don't really care. Interestingly enough, the main reason I didin't stay in WoW also applies to this game (limited appearance customization), yet somehow I like this game better. Though, I suppose part of it is that at least we have orange gear (even though I hate how limited it is compared to games with more extensive, cumbersome and flexible customization options). Anyways, I know there game could use a couple more features and improvements. But the game is still new and I have faith that the Devs will continue to improve upon it over time.
  13. Thanks for bringing that up. Ive been wondering how we rate threads with the star system, and now I know *gives thread 5 rating and bumps* For me it's Champions Online. I still have to check out Rift to see what the customization options are like. CO has the most extensive customization options I've found so far. But this game my hold me for a while longer
  14. While I have been enjoying the voice over dialog options regardless, I have to agree with the OP that its only the illusion of a choice if you attach rewards for making ALL LS or ALL DS choices. Also, some options that get you LS or DS points make no sense, or are so subjective and open to interpretation there's little point to attach special rewards for making the "right" ALL LS or DS choices. I've been in a couple of dialogs already where I get LS points for helping people decieve their love ones (parents or spouses) rather than come clean on their intentions, and DS points for trying to keep them honest. Which didn't make a lot of sense to me. I like the dialog options, but I think that alignment should only affect the flow of the story, not bring special rewards with it.
  15. I think the evidence is in the implication that if you're above 20-ish levels you're "rushing the game" which is followed by the further implication that if you're "rushing the game" you're playing it wrong. Granted, the OP never said such a thing, and as such there is really no "evidence". But it can still be sort of infered that the poster feels threatened by others being higher level than him/her already.
  16. Unfortunately all threads/posts about how other people play the game as opposed to how the poster plays it tend to sound like that. On topic, I've been rushing the game and I'm still in my 20s (don't get enough play time I suppose, but partly kidding about rushing the game)
  17. I'd prefer to get the ability to color my gear how I see fit, like they have in games with full fledged appearance customization. But I'd even take color unification over what we have now. Right now we have to deal with the color scheme of whatever assortment of gear we have on has, which produces a bunch of missmatched color across your gear. Even with orange gear its hard to make your character look good unless you have a full set (which I dont like, since I like to mix and match pieces to create unique looks), and some sets don't even have one of each piece (dancer outfit doesnt have a belt), so you may still end up with missmatched pieces that don't look good.
  18. Agreed. Kinda hinted as much in dim gray letters at the end of the OP.
  19. lol, probably the bestest reason to play a male character Ive seen so far. MMO's make us lazy and we need to work out lots if you we don't want to go fat from sitting on our butts all day long PS: As for the comments about looking at a bunch of pixelated butts, the butt reference is a joke comment because it always seems to come up at some point when people fall into the trap of trying to explain why they play female over male toons if they're male in real life. That being said, the "if looking at a bunch of pixels makes you aroused you need help" rationale pretty much applies to looking at online **** (erm, "pictures of naked people", since the word is filtered ), which I sort of guess people that do also need help. But point is a picture is a picture regardless, so it sort of makes me wonder at what point does it become ok to look at a butt? Especially considering that even if it was a real butt, I'm sure there would still be people that found an issue with it because I think this has more to do with people's sexual insecurities in general than about when its right or wrong to look at a butt.
  20. They're ugly, they're dull, and given the limited appearance customization options you'll be hard pressed to actually make them look bad-***, and even if you do, you'll still be staring at another guy's butt 80% of the time (vs. 90% in MMOs will no extensive cool dialogs with voice overs for almost every mission). Inspired by this thread here... Guys playing girl characters /Discuss PS: This is mostly just a joke thread about why people would even care what type of other people play.
  21. They would still need to find something willing to cough up those $105 for someone else's WoW account, so a WoW account doesn't necessarily = $105. Also, I realize that's the reason they did it, but seriously, its too much of a hassle for the small possibility that maybe they'll actually be able to hack into my account. And I actually have different credentials in this game than I use on others, with a unique password I came up with for this game, so there's very little they can do with that info if they actually hack into my account. I also wish that at the very least we got an option to turn it off.
  22. I feel for those of you that ordered the collectors editions. I bought the Delux edition and it was a waste of $20. Don't get me wrong, I like the game. I just don't think these two special edition versions carried anything in them that was worth the extra cost. But, oh well... I've wasted $20 before. I'll live.
  23. I completely agree with the OP. I got it purely for the special vendors (got my main's dancer outfit there) and have been regretting it ever since (not the dancing girl oufit part, but everything else). Every single time I try to log into the game, or even the freaking site/forums, I have to grab my phone, look for the security key app, generate my key, and add it to my credentials as an extra security measure, like I'm have state secrets stored in my account or something like that. And I don't even get an option to turn it off, so now I'm stuck with it for the rest of my time playing this game, only because I wanted a dancer outfit. Seriously, this is completely unecessary feature for a GAME. We're not working for a big name software or pharmaceutical company that has us carrying around sensitive trade secrets, or a government agency that holds top secret information. We don't need a security key.
