  1. Although we’re certainly willing to entertain the idea of cross-server LFG tools if the need arises, it’s a last resort for us. We firmly believe for cooperative play it is important to have a community and social responsibility that you simply can’t have with players appearing and disappearing from your reality. Instead we are pushing hard on servers that are massive compared to the ones we launched with, Thats from the latest q&a. Yes, they aren't using "super server" terminology, but thats basically it. And its really not a bad idea.
  2. Yes they did. I mean, it wasn't written in stone or anything, but on more then one occasion they have mentioned the idea of "super" servers. Thats why there wont be cross server LFG tools etc.
  3. Well that gave me a chuckle. And it dismissed any other thoughts you may have presented in your post.
  4. Why break your wifes heart by destroying her present in front of her?
  5. Most people are looking at it rigidly: "you cant take it out, I love it/ they should remove tanks, I dont like them/ I dont wanna play a single dps class..." I didnt mean removal of the healers would be possible or needed in the current mmo template of gameplay. I meant it as a theoretic, "future" evolution of entire mmo gameplay, one that isnt constricted with outdated mechanisms like cooldowns, rotations, hp percentages and abilities that restore certain amouts of the said hp. SWTOR is one of the dying breed, and its a shame since it is so fresh and already so constricted with current mmo frame of mind.
  6. There will always, probably, be a need for a healer in any game that puts one player against another, but their current state, where you are wailing at someone, get them down to 20-ish % hp just to see them jump back up again cause a friendly healer ran by, is nothing but annoyance. In wow, with addons like healbot and grid you didnt even need any mind blowingly good skills, you just watch bars and click a button. I know that we wont ever be completely rid of healers (nor would I want it to happen), but at least an evolution of a concept, something...
  7. Ye, I didnt mean patch notes/maintenance/"we are listening to our community" blogs, I meant real news. SWTOR's homepage is the same almost a month now.
  8. SWTOR already took a standard and antiquated notion of tank/heal/dps class divide, but what do you think about the future, do you think healers are becoming just a prehistoric annoyance? Dont get me wrong, my main on wow for years whas a resto shammy and I loved it, but there is something fundamentally, game brakingly bad about the concept of a char staying in the background, just healing his team. More self heal abbilites, more defensive cc's etc, where you need some skill to survive, that is the way of the future, hopefully. Tommorow is Diablo day so ill bid this fine game a farewell, but healers in their current state need to be gone, asap. P.S. This is mostly about pvp healing
  9. Its been two weeks since any news updates, and even more since anything relevant. Is this how it will go, no nothing apart big patches every few months?
  10. Very nice and easy guide for a very, very good specc, nicely done, sir
  11. Yup, its a strange problem, but big bodied characters simply wont fit. One of the solutions is to get a small bodied mate, let him go through, and allow yourself to get killed by those mobs nearby. Your mate should then be able to revive you and you will respawn next to him, on the other side of the door. Oh, and btw, do try to get a life before you start foaming at the mouth.
  12. you found all the datacrons/beasts/titles/people etc? i cannot confirm but i do believe that codex entries are all attainable, with few different entries depending on class
  13. You find logic in the original posters thread? I understand where he's coming from and I do understand whats the problem with ppl that buy the game expecting, I don't know, Hello Kitty island adventure, and then getting Star Wars and complaining about it. But I think that idea that only ppl that intimately know Star Wars and that the franchise is the only selling point of the game is very simple-minded. I, for one, find Star Wars franchise to be ok but definetly not the best thing in the universe, and yet I love the game and not only because of the "Star Wars story". LOTRO, for example, is set in a universe I prefer to Star Wars' universe, and yet I wasn't blow away by it and it didn't stop me from leaving it because it has "lotr story". On the other hand, I cant wait to reach 50 here and level an alt or two and see what the game will evolve to. And not just because its Star Wars, but because its a good game. And if you can believe it, I didn't buy it because it's Star Wars. And if ppl find a reason to complain about the game, its definetly not something that should be so shockingly observed with "why in the world would you ever buy this game..."
  14. big fat /signed... its really irritating to see "15 minutes till shutdown" at 10.45 so that north american players can sleep through their maintenance time. i love bioware but man is this irritating...
  15. So, you guys and gals already in and playing, what are the first impressions? I'm already on needles waiting for my invite mail but was just curious.
