  1. Was wondering what people use for Relics if they don't have the War Hero Relics (+18 aim, +53 End, +113 Pwr)? I have the Campaign Relics (Damage Proc and Use to increase Power 350) as well as the Matrix Cube Relic (+84 Aim, +67 End, +27 Crit with Aim Aug)... the PvP Recruit Relics are also an easy option (+18 Aim, +46 End, +97 Pwr). Any thoughts?

    Why?

i currently have Biochem/Bioanalysis/Diplomacy but am thinking of dropping Diplomacy for Slicing. The only thing I am using from Diplomacy is the Radioactive Paste and Smart Cells and they are readily available on the GTN.. plus I have accumulated a large stockpile of these mats... Would be nice to have Slicing for the Neural Augmentors to send to my other toon that makes Augments...
  3. I farm Quick Growth Agent on Voss in the area spanning between Pilgrim's Retreat and the Shuttle location. It grows around trees. Also, you can kill the Nexu mobs (strong) in this area and harvest for Quick Growth Agent but that seems like a slower way to gather then just cruising around harvesting. This is posted in torhead: "Quick Growth Colony on Voss in the Old Paths area" Yes, you are correct. I started at Pilgrim's Retreat and tended to stick to the edges of the Old Paths area where the trees are plentiful and of the plants that I found I would say that you have a 50/50 chance of having it be Quick-Growth Agent.
  4. Torrian won't hold aggro because he is not a tank and has no defensive stance. it's not suprising your pulling aggro... You can direct him to attack a non-elite mob while you focus on the stronger ones.... and he does fine. I think most DPS PTs use Mako unti they start getting geared up... then they pass their hand-me-downs to Torrian and Blizz and Skadge... I am in a progression raiding guild so have been fortunate to receive a lot of great BH gear... So my companions are Rakata/Columi/Black Hole geared... And I use all of them when doing my Belsavis/Ilum/Correlia dailies.. The only time I use Mako anymore is for soloing the heroic dailies (Freeing the Fallen, Old Enemies) or if we need a healer for Torvix or Poisonous Strategy... So don't give up on the other companions... Just learn their strengths and weaknesses and try to adjust your play style. The game is funner when you use all your companions because they are so different and bring a little variety.. i will agree with you though that it was difficiult when I started using other companions and lost my pocket healer... but stick with it.. You will eventually prefer to have the extra DPS for faster kills than the healing...
  5. We use a similar strategy but I like your method. We currently have a DPS Powertech taunt Firebrand after he is casting Incinerate Armor on the tank... Then the DPS PT switches to tank stance/shields and tanks the boss for a few seconds while the debuff wears off the tank... Your method seems to be a little quicker... Does the DPS person who takes Incinerate Armor have any trouble staying alive while they have the debuff?
  6. Someone else described this above but I wanted to add some more detail... We have a DPS Powetertech equip some tanking gear (shield, implant, bracers, belt, helm, ear). The PT is placed in the Ranged group on Jarg because the PT can get within 10M and not get hit by Jarg's AOE... Shortly before the Carbonize step occurs, the PT switches to Tank Stance and taunts Jarg... Then the Tank taunts back.. This places the PT and the Tank on the top of Jarg's threat list... The PT stays in Tank Stance to maintain that threat level.. When the first carbonize occurs, The PT and Jarg’s Tank should get carbonized... This leaves Sorno's Tank to pick up Jarg... Bottom line is that whoever did not cat carbonized between the 2 tanks and the PT must pick up the boss… The PT will switch back to DPS stance after the carbonize phase is over and then repeat the process before the next carbonize phase… I think there are some specific emotes to signal an upcoming carbonize phase… We just know based on the timing… that’s the way we manage that fight… having said that, I agree with you that this fight in Nighmare is difficult and requires good execution by the entire raid…
  7. 1. This is a tough call... If you have an abundance of the mats (manda iron, biometric crystal alloys) then you should try and crit a belt/bracer.... I crafted around 8 of each and had horrible luck with no crits, so gave up trying... My guild had quit running Normal EP/KV at that point so biometric crystals weren't as plentiful for me... now that their boe, it might be easier... I am not seeing many on the market though... Treat it like gambling... Allow yourself so many attempts to "win" then walk away... 2. just have to crit it... 3. Not true...
  8. We were seeing this last night in 16man HM... what I saw was that the fearful debuff would be applied BEFORE Toth jumped... so if we were within 30m of Zorn when Toth turned to jump to Zorn, we would get debuff... The way we worked around that was to have our melee call out when Toth was 1-2% above jump threshhold (i.e. 92%) and Ranged would move out well beyond 30 m BEFORE he turned to jump... The adverse effect is that we were running into enrage timers mainly because Ranged spent more time off target......
  9. Armormech here... I have not kept exact count but estimate about 1 in 10 have been crits.... Wish their was something useful for all the non-augmented orange armor though... been re-selling it to vendor... I have been selling the augmented gear on GTM for around 110K to 170K. Is anyone seeing any particular armor piece that sells well?
  10. that is a nice upgrade... Torian and Skadges weapons from Belsavis Dailies were blue while Mako/Blizz/Gault were orange... so now i can upgrade Torian and Skadge with some better mods....
  11. Its even funner in NiM where none of them can be CC....
  12. We have been raiding 16 man NiM for the last 6 weeks.... their seems to be no rhyme or reason to the drops... A couple of weeks ago, we downed Bonethrasher and he dropped 4 BH Rakata Helms (I think Bonethrasher is the boss who drops helms).. We only had 2 BH in raid and both already had Rakata Helms... Most of our raiding group is fully equipped with Rakataa and lot of the Rakata drops go to different classed toons who want the mods or just want to gear up companions...
  13. we just saw this today as well... me and a guildmate tried to two man this on normal and it bugged like you described... He is a Sniper and I am a BH...
  14. Which companion is +5% armor crit?
  15. I have played Rift for the last year and played SWTOR for the last 3 months. I also played WOW for 6 years prior to Rift but that is a different topic. Both SWTOR and RIFT are great games in my opinion. They have some different strengths. SWTOR has better quest lines and class story lines. I had done most of the quests in WOW and Rift and honestly had gotten burned out on questing . I was surprised how good the quest lines were in SWTOR. SWTOR has the built in advantage of being based on Star Wars which everyone seems to love. SWTORs use of crew members and crew skills is nice. It took me a while to get in the habit of delegating tasks to the crew. In addtion, the Companions story lines are interesting and give the game a sort of "Sim" feeling. SWTOR allows you to have a ship which is pretty cool. RIFT seems to be a more polished game in regards to all the little extras you can do. Of course, not all those capabilites were available in the first 3 months. Examples include Multiple Roles (6) for Characters, Better AH capabilites, Wardrobes, Customizable Interface, Add-Ons, World Events, etc... The Rifts and Zone invasions in Rift are a lot of fun... Thats kind of what sets this game apart... I never got tired of jumping into a Zone invasion even when I was decked out in end-game gear... the Zone invasion would frequently turn into open world PvP zerg fest which made them even funner... Both SWTOR and RIFT have decent instances, raids, and end-game content. From a PvP perspective, Rift was average but not great. However SWTOR PvP needs a lot of work. Hopefully they will make improvements in that area.
