  1. It really goes back even further than that -- essentially to all attempts to port pen and paper Dungeons and Dragons (with its levels and skills) to a highly inhuman format: the computer. Attempts to break from that creates a problem: most players now expect it. To completely break with what your base expects on an undertaking this expensive is career suicide in a large company.
  2. I think at times is absolutely does -- mostly in the Jedi storyline quests at times there feel like these monumental good and evil struggles. When you're killing the 500th sandperson for your bonus quest -- no, not at all. And a Trooper on Balmorra, for example? Couldn't be less star wars on a bet.
  3. ... if all the time and energy BioWare spends shutting down threads that complain about the game were spent fixing its problems.
  4. This is what I was going to say. The solution, as has been mentioned earlier, is to get 3rd party mods activated. I kinda suspect that, as a general rule, the people who like it are not involved in end-game raiding and those who hate it are -- because the idea of planning moves three or four GCDs ahead of time is a raiding phenomenon.
