  1. As it is now, only 1 of your characters will stand a chance at gaining cartel rep. Why only 1? It makes no logical sense to spread it around your characters as it takes a lot of packs to gain rep. My suggestion would be to make the cartel rep either legacy wide or make the items you can buy from the rep vendors legacy bound. Thank you.
  2. Yes, at this point LFG and transfers are needed to to keep the current players happy, but it's a bandaid on a severed artery. Heck, these services wouldn't even be needed if other things were in place from the get go, but are now needed because populations are dropping faster than footballs thrown to Ochocinco. I sure hope more is coming down the road else the LFG tool will diminish to the point where customer service calls you at home to see if you will be online later to form up a 5 man with the other 4 players on the server. *holds breath*
  3. Where to start? From beta to launch to here today there were quite a few things executed with what seemed like poor planning and design. Let's look at a few and discuss: 1. Your basics for the guild. Great idea to have pre-guild sign-ups so everyone makes it onto the same server. However little to no guild interfaces and tools, the basics of any MMO were just not there. What's missing needs to be put in place asap. 2. Your basics for the individual. From the start not everything was in place that most people expect to be in place such as UI customization. Yes, there is UI now, but how about the rest of the basics? As with guild things, those need to be put into place asap. 3. Server transfers, cross server lfg and warzones, etc. This isn't really a staple imo. These are only to fix/help the existing populations after the mass exodus took place and server pops declined. If server pops remained steady, these wouldn't need to be in place. Yes these have now become a staple and if you want to stabilize the existing customer base, these should be implemented asap, but this won't bring back subs at this point, it will however appease some of the current subs which in turn will slow down the pop decline for a time. To me, this seems like a band aid on a severed artery. 4. Leveling too fast and lack of end game variety. Games where you level too fast go bye bye shortly after simply because a player reaches end game so quick and then what's there to do when all of the end game content isn't in place. So now you are not only trying to push out the basic mmo staples while fixing bugs, you have to add in additional end game content. If games would simply slow us players down a bit, it would give you more time to push things out afterwards. So what can be done now? Not much really, maybe add more things to do along the way like more achievements, add a cosmetic clothing option, etc. 5. Variety, add more sandbox to the themepark. Add in an additional zone for each level range. For example, you finish the starting area, give the option to go to another planet to level instead of coruscant, do that for each level range and you now have a little bit of variety. The quests there don't have to be voice overs, voice overs can stay with just the main quest line. With variety and choices, people won't feel forced and feel a bit of freedom. 6. Less voice overs and more quests/content/zones. Kind of goes with 5. There is too much voice over. Don't get me wrong, I love the voice over like nothing else (it's what has kept me here to be honest). But it can definately be scaled down. All quests don't need to be voice overs, you can have some quests with no voice overs, it's ok, the voice actors will find work elsewhere, each one of them has already demonstrated their great talent. More pve options and less voice will bring subs back, promise. 7. More pvp options. Yes, some don't like the rated pvp, but some do. What harm could it possibly incur by adding rated warzones? None, it would bring back subs that wanted it, and those that didn't don't have to partake in it, just as those who don't want more pve don't have to partake in more pve. How about a full pvp/pve zone instance like Darkness Falls from DAOC, or an epic pvp warzone like WoW's old school AV? Yes not all will like but it adds variety and will bring people who do like back. Or maybe some pvp relics or some such so if one side controls, there are added bonues to that sides pve (for exaple if the empire controls a space station, there is a 5% bonus to experience/health/dps what have you. There are a lot of existing options/models in place in other games, pull some ideas, get those creative juices flowing, and push out your version. More pvp options will bring subs back, promise. I have more ideas like additional races, character customization and such which adds to the character immersion which helps people feel closer to their character which helps people stay, but basically I can summarize it like this: To keep current subs: Continue fixing bugs aggressively, Get the basic staples in place asap, and get the LFG & sever transers in place. To bring back subs: add more pve leveling options/zones with no voice, more pvp options. Above all else, well executed and better communication will go a lot further than you think. However, the way things look to me right now, EA/BW are not and have never been interested in sustained growth, they were only interested in the intial sales like so many other fly by night games have done in the past. There is nothing worse than to hype a game and drop the ball. Look at Funcom and The Secret World. TSW looks great, but because Funcom burned players in past, it will be slow going imo.
  4. I don't believe you are the only one disppointed, look at the server populations. My only real complaint would be the lack of this or that right out of the gate. The staples of an MMO. What is tiresome to me is when people defend SWTOR or any other new game for that matter, saying well this other game didn't have it until a year after launch or what have you. Look, imo, as games are launched and new ideas are put out there that become staples in mmo gaming, then any new games released should have those staples included at launch. There should be no defense on this subject whatsoever. I can go through a list of analogies such as cars, tvs, washers & dryers, computers, monitors, servers, mouses, keyboards, phones, etc. etc. All have progressed with technology and we won't accept anything less. How many people still use the brick cell phones? Anyone? The same standard should hold true for any new MMO, and imo, that is why people have been leaving, not the bugs, it's the lack of the basic MMO staples, well and poor communication from the SWTOR team. I hope they continue to fix and add at a fast pace (maybe pick up the pace a bit), but to me, this is just a single player RPG instead of an MMO, and that's how I play it now. Oh and FYI, SWTOR has set a new standard for quests, voice acting and cutscenes; any new games from this point forward will be less than great without just as DAOC set the standard for pvp/rvr (I miss darkness falls), any games without 3 faction pvp is less than great, SWG/EVE set standard for crafting, any game without is less than great, EVE/STO has great space combat to pull ideas from, etc, etc.
  5. I truly believe bugs are a part of the nature of the game, any game, any software, any hardware. I work in the industry so i can attest to the fact that bugs are not isolated to the mmo gaming industry. IMO, the devs have done a pretty good job at identifying the bugs. You have to keep in mind, they have to prioritize the the bug fixes while at the same time work on releasing new things. The old saying you aren't going to make everyone happy holds true to the mmo gaming industry more so than anywhere else i believe just because you have so many people with eyes on your product. However, my only real complaint would be the lack of this or that right out of the gate. The staples of an MMO. What is tiresome to me is when people defend SWTOR or any other new game for that matter, saying well this other game didn't have it until a year after launch or what have you. 6. To me, it's not about all the maintenance, emergency or otherwise. It's not about all the issues the game has, or the great things about the game (plenty of good and plenty of bad). It's about complete and utter lack of communication. If they can post a communication on FB or Twitter, they can certainly post on their own official website. How long or how much effort is involved in posting communications on twitter, FB and official website? Not much at all, most computer systems these days have a fancy new function known as Copy + Paste. To be honest, this lack of communication dates way back to beta and pre-release on things like early game access, grace period, how ega was going to work (i.e. 4-6 waves per day and these pre-orders only on this day , it took the player base to figure it all out and post that communication). There has been little to no communication on BW's part. Everything else aside, this is their biggest failure and what has become my decision on whether to continue to subscribe or not. It hasn't improved whatsoever. Frustrating to say the least. With a lack of communication, the perception is they don't give a rat's behind.
  7. I may test it out, but will wait to hear from a GM in game first, or a dev team member here before I give it a go.
  8. Will there be an option for renaming your legacy name? If no, then is it possible to reset your legacy name by deleting all of my characters on a server then recreating the characters? Then when I reach end of act 1 on a character, I can create a new legacy name? Thanks.
  9. I don't believe it will become a ghost town, there are queues for it, and people in game on jung already crave one, especially those who got ega today, myself included.
  10. Yeah, I'm in Jung as we speak, just hesitant to level at the moment with hopes of a new east coast RPpvp server. Even if people queued up, that would help the cause as well I would think. In any case, let's hope they throw down a few new servers.
  11. Definately. I would guesstimate within the hour we will see 3-4 new, followed by 1-2 new as needed. But just a guess, don't hold me to it.
  12. I will 2nd this motion, but will add that at least 1 new East Coast RP-PVP server too. I don't mind playing on Jung, but having just gotten in EGA today, would rather roll on a new RPPVP server than wait in que taking up someone else's place who already has a developed character here. /shrug If not, then no thing, I can que it up if necessary. Roger roger.
  13. When is peak time for east coast? 9pm est is what I always thought from pervious experience, just curious. I'm in on Jung, so for those who have played previously on this server, I will gladly log off so you can have my spot if they do in fact plan to open additional rp-pvp servers, just don't see anything to that end however. /shrug.
