  1. They reintroduced the Crime Lord packs again, andI'm sick of the way they keep screwing with the economy. For many of us, we make our money by buying items, waiting until the packs go away, and then reselling. The last time I did this, when they reintroduced the new packs again without warning, it killed the value on my stuff. But at least I knew they were coming out eventually. But now they released it again, without warning. There goes my Crime Lord items value. I'm just sick of them keep releasing the same old packs instead of finally letting them die. It introduces no new items, floods the market with old crap for the third time period, drops the value on everything that was bought and saved, and really just stinks of an easy money grab(New content? Naaah, we'll just keep re-re-releasing the same old garbage and keep Revan's gear at a ridiculous drop rate so they'll be "forced" to buy it). If people haven't gotten the items from the Crime Lord packs yet, that's their choice. They've been out three times since their introduction. Looking at the future looks glim if they're already doing this with the Crime Lord packs. 6 months from now, all it's going to be is "get the old Bounty Collector pack! Or, a Contraband pack! or maybe, a new old Starfighter. Next up, Star Clutter pack again!" I hyperbolize, but only to make a point: the constant reintroducing of packs is getting frustrated and makes the economy side of the game less enjoyable(which is one of my favorite parts). With all the other negatives of this game, this is just another depressing addition. Anyone else agree?
  2. I don't want to be as harsh as the others because you do have some vaild points. But rq, here's first where i disagree, coming from Pve perspective first, but a love for PvP with experience. You mentioned you wish it was back like it was before, with Top pvp gear transferring over to some PvE, which is understandable. But the reason they changed it was because it didn't go both ways. Top PvE gear in warzone was the near equivalent of slightly better than recruit gear while tier 3 PvP gear was around the level of tier 2 PvE. You were an outcast to most pvpers if you dare came in with any PvE gear, regardless of tier. As a PvEr first, this was kind of frustrating. 1. I agree that the grind is very steep for PvP gear. Unless you stick to one character, trying to get all pvp takes forever. I think they should decrease the comms needed. That said, don't disregard the grind it takes to get top pve. it's a different breed with less grind potential, but more risk and restrictions as well. You have to team up, schedule raids, be a decent player or you have to grind everything, make sure you're in a good guild, etc. While pvp, even if I'm terrible and guildless, i can still keep queuing and getting my comms thru most times of the day, with no risk of getting booted. That all, getting to the low-middle tier of PvE is way easier if you're not terrible (or your group isn't). I mean, I got near full black market/Ark level gear in just 5-6 hours of flashpoints. 2. I definitely agree i don't love the current situation. Most players are typically more casual players. I personally am in favor of lowering the gate for doing both PvP and PvE. If you've got top pve or pvp, i feel that gear should transfer over pretty well into the opposite field. At least on a decent level. I personally only have 528 exp and perform well in PvP but I'm also very experienced healer. The disadvantage for healers doesn't seem as much in PvP as it does for dpsers. Edit: 3. I definitely feel your frustration with the PvE aspects of special events and such and your gear not being very useful. Sure Gree had a few pvp quests but events by far have catered to the PvE crowd. It would be cool to have special items available on events for participating in WZs.
  3. I do enjoy the new content from the packs but i think it's poor sport that much of the new content is going into CM packs. I think they forget this isn't a pure f2p. Many players are subscribers and when you're a subscriber, you expect most content to be available to you. But that's not the case. How many emotes can you get from in-game? Again, i understand the frustration and do appreciate the new stuff Cartel packs bring. But i agree it's expensive. I am in favor of retiring old packs though. It keeps the market from being over run, helps drive down prices(with everyone buying from 1 of 5 packs instead of 1 of 15, it helps keep those items cheaper), and adds value to past items.
  4. i really get tired of these popping up, especially when there is so much armor available since the Cartel packs that no one has to look the same at all. Here's why the suggestion isn't great: 1. Those wonderful armor sets aren't lost...if you've been playing the game for awhile. There aren't many perks for being a loyal customer, but that is one of them. As someone mentioned early on, it's a badge of honor to have the gear. Some of you don't care because your class had terrible looking gear(aka the Coneheads and Bullrushers). But those with awesome gear like the IA, the Rakata is great looking and makes you feel like a veteran. When people see it, they know you've been playing the game for awhile. 2. It's earned. For most of us, Rakata was hard-earned. To see it suddenly available to new players fresh in their 20s would be sad. 3. it's class specific. Not that it would be if they were reintroduced. And that's the problem. There is already increasingly little class specific gear that identifies you as your class. Adding to the CM/Rep Vendor/etc something that clearly marked you as an agent would decrease it's value to those that had it. I really don't want some Bounty Hunter suddenly looking just like my Rakata Agent.
  5. If anyone looked over the gear in the new Freelance packs, you'll notice that almost everything is Super Rare. If you look on the GTN, you'll certainly notice not everything is "Super Rare." My problem is that items that are dirt poor cheap on GTN are labeled as Super Rare, but it's not the label that bothers me, it's the hiked up price on the Collections. I think they need to change the rarity or cost. Speedsuit, for example, costs maybe 50k for the entire collection. But it would take 360cc to unlock on collections. Yes, I've heard the tired argument. "Bioware doesn't know what will be popular!" They don't know exactly but they've got a pretty good guess. Speedsuit again, the only unique thing about that piece is the Underarmour chestpiece sweater. I find it unlikely they thought that would be a hot commodity. Second, i think there's a solution: increase the drop rate of certain gear(guaranteeing it will be common) and lowering the drop rate of items you think will be more in demand. I'm just frustrated personally love unlocking armor suits on my collections. I generally spend my 500cc a month on just that. But with the current prices, I just won't buy at all. It's not worth it to pay 360 when i could buy 4 sets for 200k. 360cc or 600cc to unlock Revan's gear? The price sucks but it's understandable. The others, not so much.
  6. No please, that's the best I can say. The good news is, the Classic Forward Recon stuff is available on the gtn and it's still actually pretty cheap. Here's why i disagree: 1. Those item are lotto items. You buy the packs and hope you get lucky. I'm highly against selling former lotto items on the CM(B/B dyes, which even are still available thru lotto for example). 2. Retiring the packs, and items increases their value. Many like myself hold on to some pieces and patiently wait until the packs are retired. At that point, we then sell to whomever didn't pick them up before. If you place them on CM, you kill their value, putting to waste our time and energy with market prediction. Historically, the most of the packs are up for over half a year, which is also plenty of time to get what you want. 3. Retiring the items increase their value before they're even retired. When people realize that their chances to get the item is as long as the item is still in play, it drives them to buy. If you start posting stuff on CM after they're retired, people will just wait. Believe me, I read the forums. Some people are holding out on buying old pack stuff because they believe the pack will come back in it's entirety. Even placing high walls on old items like the rep vendor has decreased the value of those old items(i.g. Overlord's Throne). It sucks that you just now realized you want to put it together but that's often how MMO's work with expiring items. I'm sure some people would like to get their hands on the old Life Day, Rak Day, and other event gear. But again, at least on my server, there's plenty of Classic Recon for sale and fairly cheap too.
  7. I've mentioned this several times on this post. The main reason I feel we shouldn't see those armors again is a couple reasons. 1. It's(or was) earned gear. For many of us, getting Rakata was a really big deal. And for those of us that still have those, it's a bit of a badge of honor. It shows we're a veteran of the game and provides us with a pretty unique look. 2. The gear you're asking for is class-specific. If they reintroduced it, it would be available to all class. As a proud wearer of the IA Rakata gear, I would be pretty disappointed to suddenly see BHs and Assasins running around in it. What is a unique look for my agent and a badge of honor would quickly become common place, making it less desirable. I understand that some wouldn't mind, but that's typically with players who's main had terrible armor(Sorc's PvE Dunce Hat/Wing Shoulders anyone?).
  8. Yeah, I agree it does seem like an Orbital Strike shouldn't happen often, from a lore perspective. That said, some variation of it would be nice i agree
  9. I agree. I just hope the old cartel stuff doesn't get recycle after the 1-50 oranges are repackaged thru Cartel Packs. That said, the new bounty packs have some nice new items. Good step in right direction!
  10. I would love to hear Bioware's plan(at least just a tiny more insight) for how they plan on releasing and retiring items/packs from the Cartel Market. It would be nice to have more clarity on whether we'll see the old cartel packs or whether old items will ever appear on the CM for straight sale. I personally would prefer neither. Here's the situation. The economy of an MMO is very important to many, many players. Some will just sit and play the GTN/Auction House for hours a day. (Some level/pvp/craft/raid/farm and some sell.) With each economy there's always a certain amount of reliability. Crafting and Rare Drops heavily dominated Wow's AH.In that, you knew that if you bought, say, 80 Runecloth, the price would generally stay same so you knew you wouldn't get screwed left with bolts and bolts of useless cloth. With the GTN, we really don't have that. Here's why: the GTN's economy now seems primarily built on CM items. Regular modable armor and weapons all take a backseat(Exception being some end game items.) Crafting was so simplified and yet constraining because of time regs on crafting that it's part is minimal. And besides endgame, it's just not super profitable(time to creds-wise). The problem with having the economy hinge on the CM is because it's looking increasing inconsistent. With crafting, you generally have a common price equal out, Fibermesh for 200 a piece. And you have obvious markers when that might change (Manda Iron obviously losing value with New Exp). But we have very little idea about the Cartel Market, Specifically the Cartel Packs. And it's mostly on Bioware shoulders. Here are two of the problems: 1. Bioware muddied the water. They said embargo packs would come back in some fashion but nothing else. They then introduced items from those packs based on rep. So is that it? Or is there more to come and how so? I personally think they should stay dead, if anything just release similar looking items but not identical. Either way some clarity one way or other would help. If not, you get this: - people hold off on buying old items, expecting them to come back again. -Also, it's frustrating as a seller because you have no reasonable clue if your 3 mil item is about to be worth 200k. 2. Bioware broke the lotto trust and started selling top lotto items on the CM for outright purchase(I'm speaking of B/B W/W dyes). Many that blew money hoping to get Black/Black were likely ticked when they realized they spent all that for random items of chance when they could have had a cheaper, sure thing. Plus, the sellerI'm sure was frustrated that it instantly dropped the price on Dye pack b/b dyes(B/B when to half their price instantly on my server after announcement). But that begs the question, what's next? That varactyl mount you risked $40 might soon be available to buy for $15 guaranteed. What's sacred? As a seller, the CM economy is already a little shaky. Now it's even more so because we have mixed messages and dubious decisions being made. We don't ask for all-knowing plan, just that our products don't drop to 5% of price without some warning. I personally don't want patiently-waited and collected CM pack items of total 25 mil to be reduced to 1mil because it's suddenly on the CM or retreaded in a new pack without some kind of heads up or hinted change. So please, would love at least a little more clarity.
  11. Too many people not reading what this guy is asking. I whole-heartily agree I would love to get an update on the state of the game(such as how many unique players etc), similar to previous announcements. With many journalist not actively commenting on the game now, I haven't been able to find much. Makes me feel like it's dying though it may be opposite. Too much silence.
  12. Recently I accidentally use an expensive pet while attempting to send one on mail. CS was very understanding and rewarded it back to me. That said, I've got two suggestions. 1. add a decent cast time to pets. Most people generally dont add many pets back to back and it avoids accidental click. 2. More importantly, I think it would be a nice feature that you couldn't be allowed to activate items while in mail, in either tab. If you're in the Send section, it will just attempt to add the item to mail. But if you accidental click the other or forget, it can cause problems. Small suggestions but would be helpful.
  13. Bring back the revan gear in some capacity? Sure, it doesn't get more classic then that.Anybody holding on to Revan's gear likely knows it's just matter of time before it's reintroduced. Bring back the old packs? Absolutely not. Already many of the items have appeared under the Rep vendor. The reason the prices are high is because people wisely saved their gear/mount/pets for later. Bringing them back especially after rep would just kill the value they had gained. Being actively involved in the game's economy and making market predictions is actually a very important part of some people's SWTOR experience. Please don't ruin it.
  14. Oh Nickious, I highly doubt this is your first MMO if you're posting on this forum. But in answer to your question, you're missing the point. It has nothing to do with dyes but what BW chooses to sell on GTN and how they price those items. People are willing to unsubscribe to seemingly trivial things if it's a sign of more undesirable decisions to come from BW. I personally think if they wanted to sell B/B dye on CM, they should have done that from the beginning. It's deceptive to let others drop cash on "random" items and then suddenly switch it up. But anyways, is it actually trivial?...people are spending crazy cash on these lotto items. When were talking of cash upwards of $134 to get an item, I'd hardly call that trivial. http://fr.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/1ecjgv/psa_looking_for_blackblack_out_of_84_dye_packs_i/
  15. My biggest problem with this choice is this: they're setting a precedent for the future. Whether you care about dye colors or not, Bioware is taking an item that many of people blew, often, over a hundred dollars to get in Dye Packs...and then added it to the GTN for $20. Part of the reason they couldn't sell for cheap is it would anger people (imagine the Verat mount popping on CM for $5 after you blew money on a hypercrate just to get it.). Here's the issue though: If they take an item that was a reward for playing the lotto and then add it for up-right sale later, that means anything else is possibly game. Making a new mount to sell? Nah, just grab the old Ambassador Hoverchair or Korrealis Commander and slap a $20 price tag on it. It's a cheap way to make a buck, and I think it's offensive to those that blew lots of cash on lotto items like dye packs. Can they? Sure. They could create a hotdog, throw some Wookie legs on it, and toss a Jawa on riding side-saddle and slap it on the CM as a $45 mount. For those disparaging those upset, this debate isn't "can Bioware charge w/e they want?" or "Should their goal as a company to make money?" Yes, and yes. Those upset are questioning... Is it wise? And to alienate those willing to drop lots of cash on, imo, stupid crap? No, not wise. Again, for the nay-sayers, look at the future. If they're able to process old content and sell it for a bunch instead of people getting upset, they'll just keep pumping out old content. It's cheaper and easier. Which means less new content for you. Oh and that rare mount/armor/dye you spent a lot to get/played game consistently since launch to receive it? Now everyone has it. Let's let some items be sacred. If it's in a random lotto pack, let it stay in that pack.
