Fortunately for me I didn't even make it a full minute into this quest before noping the hell out. The "voice" is so aggravating I'm only doing the quest once so I can get the rep and then throwing them out an airlock.

Being based solely on distance without even taking the location's place in the game's timeline was a huge mistake. Honestly the whole thing is a mistake, but if they felt it absolutely necessary to tax QT it should have been based on a pro-rated cooldown with the same price-range instead of being based on distance. So first QT is 100 credits regardless of distance, then goes to 5k at the start of the cooldown but decreases gradually over the 10 minute period. So they get their travel tax from the people using it the most, and people leveling don't get completely screwed in the process just so they can get to the quest giver.

Are they really adding that ridiculous number of companions to the ship? Practically speaking will you ever use more than 6? 5 for crew skills and one to bring with you.

Again with the false equivalencies. Nobody has once asked for free gtn stuff. I actually advocated for raising the cap on gtn sales so it would take out more money. But you don't care about having an actual debate with anyone, you just want to argue for the sake of arguing.

That particular individual and one other I think are just trying to piss people off because it's a hot topic. Every gaming forum I've ever been on has had those people.

Precisely this. Of all the possible options to combat inflation(most of which would be more effective), this being the one they decided to go with is laughable. I personally would have gone with raising the GTN cap so you could tax those multi-billion credit transactions. More people would be able to sell their stuff without spamming chat for hours on end, you'd be removing large chunks of credits from the economy, and you wouldn't be screwing over low-level and casual players in the process. Everyone wins.

Having been through most of the changes that have come about since the game launched, I have to agree with this. See previous statement. And if that location happens to be where all the portals are, not only can you access most of the major locations in the entire game for free, but flight masters cost the equivalent of less than a single quest's worth of gold. Not even in the same ballpark.

That is an egregiously apologist and honestly somewhat condescending standpoint. Nickle-and-diming people for a QOL feature that WE ALREADY PAYED EXTRA TO USE is not the answer. This was an incredibly stupid move on their part which won't even make a dent in the issue.

It hasn't removed any from me because I just stopped using quick travel. Despite being able to afford it I refuse to be nickel-and-dimed to use a feature I already payed extra for. This was a really stupid move on EAWare's part.

The Bioware you are referring to hasn't existed for a long time. There's maybe two people left from the original crew, and they obviously have virtually zero autonomy.

The easiest way by far to remove large amounts of credits from the economy en-masse is to remove the credit cap for GTN listings. Every time someone buys/sells something you permanently remove a chunk of credits from the game.

They'll never do that because it's the only reason a lot of those people buy the things from the CM in the first place.
