  1. Apparently you and 1.5 million other people lol.
  2. They'll probly have to buff recruit gear or give away BM gear eventually... The current system of "get curbstomped for a couple weeks" won't be encouraging many free players to pay $15 a month for the exciting PvP.
  3. Story was the only unique thing about TOR and apparently it doomed it. MMO players only want instance grinds and PvP ladders... Most of the players I have encountered openly admit: "Spacebar is their best friend." You are delusional if you think they are gonna produce story content of the quantity and quality we've seen previously. The dev team got gutted. All the new content they announced for post F2P was started on well before the mass layoffs. They had a trailer for the new op and planet back at E3 and data miners found the HK companion at launch. Now that it's going free to play they aren't going to pour more money into this, it'll be all about the margins. $10 Luke's land speeder and $5 Vader's helmet are the "content" you can expect. Grinding the same Ops/FPs for 6 months until the next $20 xpac are what you can expect. After they milk whatever was in the pipeline you won't be seeing sweeping content updates. If you are lucky this time next year you'll get a new Hutt planet with neutral faction quest hubs and all the quest givers speaking huttese with you having the option to either "Nod" "Shoot Him" or "Refuse Quest"
  4. If you managed to go 8 months without finding this out it's probably not that big deal. Edit: If it's any consolation the Republic set looks like *** and the Imperial set doesn't suit any of the playable classes... well maybe Sith Warrior. But if I was a Dark Lord of the Sith I wouldn't be sporting the same armor as the cannon fodder.
  5. All I'm playing atm is alts anyway. The commendation grind got old fast. As long as the inconveniences aren't too outrageous I'll stop the sub and just finish out the story line on my last 4 alts... If they end up going with crazy restrictions like no mail, deactivate my non-human toons, or remove the legacy perks then I guess I'd pay until I finish the game with those last 4 classes before I uninstall. I'll go to youtube to see how the new (last) ops finishes the dread masters storyline from denova... assuming there's anyone left to post such a video.
  6. When I finished the class quest on my Jedi Knight there was this big ceremony. Bioware must've forgot to put up "The End" and play the credits after it, but I knew they were supposed to be there. That's when.
  7. It's fairly obvious that if they haven't been working on this by now then it's never gonna happen. They'll be trimming the budget on all fronts and I guarantee VO work will be greatly reduced. I expect a lot of future quest givers will be speaking Huttese and there's no way they gonna pay for a couple dozen hours of VO for something only a portion of the playerbase will see.
  8. F2P isn't the reason the game is going to fail.. it's admitting it already has failed.
  9. Dead Island should have taught you that fancy trailers do not a game make.
  10. Now there's a dark and bleak future for you.
  11. MMOs weren't popular before WoW. MMOs other than WoW are nowhere near as popular. The sooner devs figure out that MMO players are actually a niche market the better. The Old Republic could have been Knights of the Old Republic III meets Dragon Age Origins with the multiple class story arcs... a contender for GOTY. But instead it's just another in a long line of failed MMOs chasing after WoW money. WoW is an anomaly and the idea of MMOs being "popular" is a fad. Eventually we'll look back on it like we do Nintendo Wii and wonder what all the fuss was about.
  12. The main issue will be when they run out of content that's already being worked on. Looking back on the E3 announcement: new Ops, new WZ, new planet, new space mission, new companion... sounds like they were pushing every team to do one last round of content before they axed the whole department. I'd wager after one last super patch goes live we'll be left with 10 guys keeping the lights on and adding Boba Fett costumes to the cash shop. F2P games don't get 200 man dev teams pushing out quality content every other month. Not that they were actually delivering that before F2P.
  13. Good luck getting new WZs after they downsize the PvP team to one guy lol.
  14. Champions Online was a pretty great time... it was the first MMO I played where there was just one giant server so none of this transferring crap. They were able to do that in 2009 and I was shocked it never caught on. The multi-server model was a big factor in the death of TOR.
  15. So if I cancel/switch to F2P are you going to automatically delete all my Rakata/War Hero gear?
