  1. The grace period in which to reconnect without waiting in queue is a fantastic idea; however, I doubt it's something they planned for in developing the game, so I bet that feature isn't possible right now. Too bad. It seems like BW is just in possession of an overabundance of caution on this population issue. They do not want to open 30 new servers today, have a lot of people not renew their subscriptions after the first month, and be stuck with mostly-vacant servers. That said, right now I 45 minutes into a 560-person queue, so my impatience is certainly battling with my reason. In another 180 people I'll be able to rejoin my friends and play my 20s Sorc again though...
  2. I will have to roll a character there regardless, even if it's just an alt. I would trust you guys implicitly I am sitting in a 500-person queue on the PvE server my other friends chose... yay...
  3. Bought the game via Origin on the 28th, registered my preorder code on the 29th. 11.29.2011 Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Digital Deluxe Edition Pre-Order 11.29.2011 Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Early Game Access: Ready to patch 12.15.2011 Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Early Game Access: Ready to play Received invite e-mail today at 1:16pm CST (UTC-6).
  4. I guess I'm late to the party, but FYI: Registered my preorder code on Nov. 29th. Received early access invite e-mail today, 13:16pm CST (UTC-6).
  5. I'm very glad to see this guide back too! Much appreciation goes out to the author and all contributors. I'm enamored by the playstyle of the BH Powertech tank. I think I will be trying that one first. What are we nicknaming that spec, "Powertank"? I would also love to try a Tankassin sometime too. However, Powertank will probably be better for me to start with since they have higher mitigation overall. I'll worry about becoming pro with a Tankassin after I'm sure I can deck one out in avoidance-oriented gear. Oddly enough I'm just not super excited by the idea of playing a Jugg. No offense intended to anyone though. As long as you're out there trying to tank, you're aces in my book
  6. I remember that name! Excellent! It's so difficult trying to come up with details from a game I played 7 years ago, haha... I will probably just be playing SWTOR with a couple of coworkers. Sith side, not sure what server.
  7. That's what I'm talkin' about! My forum signature used to read: "I am a racist bounty hunter: I only kill marks that aren't white" (bugged marks were neutral to you instead of attackable, and thus white dots on your radar). A mod politely asked me to change it after awhile though Started SWG late in third stage of beta (I think they were pretty much letting everyone in). Did some Doctor stuff for awhile. Rerolled on Shadowfire the day it opened, went MBH and never looked back. Name was Aleon, was in an Imp player association focused on PvP called <Elite>. Remember how LLC wouldn't work because of the busted heavy weapons cert? lol. I felt worse for the Commandos though. Although an Imp buddy of mine lost his AT-ST to a flamethrower DoT the day HW got patched -- so I bet that made one Rebel really happy My big claim to fame (or was it? idk) was solo hacking the terminal in one or two of those NPC faction bases. You know how there were a handful of them on the various planets? Anyway. It was only possible due to the AT-ST tanking. When you sliced the terminal, you were able to choose a chunk of whatever kind of XP you wanted, so it was like hitting the mother lode in the grind to MBH. I posted about it on the SWG BH forums, with screenshots, etc., but the thread just turned into a flamewar over how imba the AT-ST was. I hope an Imp or two got in on the action though... Lord knows MBH was enough of a grind back then. I quit within a year (not sure when, but I recall having a 12-month sub and not renewing). No clue how things were after the CU and whatnot. Heck, I forget if player bounties were even in... I mean, they might've been, but not many people had unlocked Jedi yet. And most were quietly grinding since they didn't have saber flurry or any good moves yet.
  8. Kind of makes a guy want to get married -- for the gaming partner! ...almost
  9. Very difficult for me to remember any names... basically I started SWG in Beta 3 on Bria, and on live rolled on Shadowfire as soon as it opened. But I only played for about a year, so I know nothing of the CU or NGE or whatever. My PA was Elite, and we were Imp. I was an MBH (later Jedi grinder) named Aleon. About the only other player name I can remember is Torne Kasra... he was a good friend. The <-VF-> tag seems familiar to me! I hope you guys were around early on, otherwise my mind is playing tricks on me
